I really like what they did with luke, many people expected him to be a homelander type character, and the episode even tries to mislead us by having him rip off the guys arms in training in a brutal way, and then later with his killing of brink, but the more we learn about him, we learn that he was a genuinely good guy who wanted to be a good hero, but was abused and went through some heavy tramua, leading to a violent meltdown.

Theory theory time: I think she’s trapped under the school just like Sam. Explains why the reporter said all they could find of her was an email and she responded that she didn’t want to speak to her. That was the dean’s fake email trying to get Marie to stop looking for her.
That is probably correct but Maybe but because either it happened so fast and he didn’t realize it was her powers but Marie’s dad seems confused so my theory for right now is maybe Marie’s mom was injected with out knowing because I doubt Homelander was the first person to use V unauthorized on people

Pretty sure Jordan Li’s powers aren’t just changing gender. We were told in male form, they have steel skin, and in female form they can use some sort of energy projection. We saw them alternating between forms to do offense and defense in the fight with Golden boy

A few thoughts: I think Jordan's powers involve shifting their molecular makeup when they transform which is why they were able to remove the bullet shot by Brink and avoid injuries from Luke. Next, Jordan's necklace is a combination of pearls and chain which seems to be a reflection of their gender fluid nature. I figured the hammering the needle or whatever in Sam's lower back was some kind of spinal tap. You mentioned in the video that they developed V24 by experimenting on supes. So would maybe make sense that some version of V compound may come from various biological material of living supes (e.g. spinal fluid).
Jordan’s powers change depending on which state they are in. It seems they are more durable and stronger when male. And have the force pushing ability when they are a female.

It's really wild actually how perfectly suited each character's power set is to thematically exploring each young adult social issue. a sign of good writing is when the plot, characters, and themes seem to interact effortlessly, and I gotta say this show really feels effortless and I mean that in the best possible way
I really love all of the symbolism throughout the Boys universe. A lot is subtle, but once you see it and get it, it makes the shows that much more enjoyable.
LUKE’S gf was definitely wiping his mind without him knowing about his brother after he saw him and it resulted in him having flashbacks and he flipped when he discovered the truth. His gf is up to something you can tell she’s SKETCHY
Her power is clearly enough for her to be ranked right underneath him she seems to be apart of what the school has going on she literally walks and does as she pleases and her meds are probably to numb her thoughts I’m sure she can do a lot more than just direct people with her touch I think she can rework their thoughts and make people do as she pleases most likely
Not that it should matter, but Andre also mentions how he’s very attracted to A-Train and he reacts to a guy’s gaze at the club. So it’s safe to say he’s bisexual, but not open to his dad or due to his expectations, he will keep it on the DL. I think he also had a crush on his best friend Luke, but of course it can also be a purely male platonic love for their friendship. I think he might have had sex with Cate out I’m of grief of missing Luke so much (as he mentioned).
Nothing makes me laugh more then your breakdowns Paul 😂 thank you for all the laughs so far. On the show, absolutely blew past my expectations as The Boys always does. Can’t wait to see the set up to season 4 !!!
Enjoyed the first 3 episodes and to be honest, the show is greater than expected and is getting better with each episode it seems! Also something you missed Maverick, the R.A. - is Translucent's son, this was said at Translucent's funeral scene in The Boys season 2
I just watched the 3 episodes and I was hooked. This was a great video and you knocked this video out of the park! Great job,I was waiting for this after your hint in your podcast. I was pleasantly pleased to see this video within moments after binging the 3 dropped episodes. Please keep doing this. Just for a suggestion, can you do a DEEPDIVE (yelling becUse the idea is epic and you ONLY could do it justice) on Casablanca? Tour "old movie takes" are wonderful and as a film historian I would love to have your take on it all with that story. Adore you and the channel.
I think she supressed it during the interview to show her sister she is a hero so she'll do whatever it takes to do that. When I say to do that, I mean to prove to her she isn't a monster but a hero. Which is why she didn't name drop her some what friend during it.
A comment on Jordans powers. Its actually really interesting. They shift between genders in miliseconds, which takes some cellular shenanigans to do properly, and would produce INSANE amounts of energy every time it happened. During the fight with golden boy you can see jordan shifting to protect themselves, creating kinetic fields to both push, punch, and absorb energy. Super cool!
I feel like The Woods are working on a way to take down Homelander amd/or others. That line that guard said about Supes feeling like they’re invincible and activating that sound device
They killed Mr. Krabbs. Missed opportunity there where she mentioned Shaw shank and show the clip from that movie with Clancy Brown. The lady orderly serving the meals reminded me of the lady guard in Terminator 2 where they both have bandages/cast of left arm - and we all know golden boy is played by arnie's son.
12:37 I don't know how common it is in all American colleges, but my college dorm rooms also didn't allow for students to open them in case students jumped or fell out the window.
Jordan's ability is not just gender changing though - it is obvious from the show they have dual powers, especially when they change between genders in the fight with Golden Boy, when they change their sex to utilise their different powers - psionic blasts in their female form and invulnerability as a male.
You made me hit the like button right at the 30-minute mark! All references to the like button are hilarious!! 😂 This video is absolutely phenomenal, and I’m really enjoying your content-your sense of humor, especially, stands out. Thanks for lighting up my day
Holy crap I wasn't expecting much from this but as a boys fan I gave it a try. How can Seth Rogan be such a tool and make such crap mostly anymore, but make or help make something this amazing . The way they bring real life situations and make them so serious, like racism, sexism, greed and so on is AMAZING...the girl who likes to get small says so much, her UA-cam and the comments just spot on. This show was nearly perfect.
Anyone else notice that Little Cricket’s name (Emma Meyer) is nearly the same actress who plays Enid on Wednesday (Emma Myers)? Both characters are the roommate of the main character, both have short blonde hair, both are more colorful and outgoing than their roommate, and both have dysfunctional relationships with their mothers. Seriously, this cannot be a coincidence.
The scene where Emma helps Marie to go to the loo in her impractical dress was the point that I bought in to the programme and really started to enjoy it. When they hugged it was a great moment. Two women supporting each other isn’t something we usually see in TV. There are a lot of female characters in the shown who all have their own purpose, are multifaceted, aren’t stereotypes and none of them are there to just hang off the arm of a leading man and be fridged.
I think you've missed that Jordan has two more power as a male invulnerability and as a female melee enhanced telekinesis you can see it when she's punching golden boy.
I like how they visualize how Jordan uses their powers differently when in their male vs female form. They use their male form when they want fo absorb hits and energy and use their female form to redirect and expell that absorbed energy. Youll see them absorb a hit from either a physical blow or an energy blast in their male form, and switch to their female form to expell that energy back to their enemy. I feel like its very similar to Shaw from X Men First Class, but much more subtle. People pay closer attention to their gender switching instead of the real dangerous aspect of their powers
For people wondering about Jordan's power being gender based, you can just read the main character's descriptions on prime itself, so yeah. Here: "They have the unique ability to shift between two genders, and abilities-one is dense and indestructible, the other agile and can launch energy blasts".
I love how this show uses these young kids. Shows how they’re great young kids who wanted to truly be heroes. Yet end up being pawns, used, and end up as celebrities in the end. Emma is the best character btw! Wish she would have crawled up the security guards butt. Like that Thanos thing we all wish we had. Also like Ryan Arey said, Marie could probably explode Homelander and I hope it happens.
Great breakdown. Couple of little points that I think were explained in the episode: Jordan’s powers are different as male and female, male is strength and impenetrability, and female is fast and agile. Other is that Emma doesn’t eat, as eating makes her bigger. When she does eat it’s tiny little nibbles, so not lonely does she have bulimic traits, but also anorexic.
I have my own Theory Time: Something the Dean said stuck with me. She said she HAD a daughter. Her expertise is the intersection between superpowers and mental illness. She seems to have a low opinion of Supes as people. So, my theory is, her daughter is Cindy, the extra dangerous and crazy Supe from Sage Grove. Cindy escaped, and I think she's coming for her mother, the Dean. If not this season, then maybe Season 2 of Gen V or even Season 4 of The Boys.
I've heard the story from the source is not as good as the series is, but I don't know I've watched full story breakdowns and though it's not the same as reading the comics, I still think it's a good story, but yes, the show has definitely improved on it, anyway I just finished watching this spin off and it was a very solid start, looking for more, definitely! Great video as always! P.S. The kid Hughie met in Red River is actually Teddy Stillwell, yes.

I want more Golden Boy and Polarity in flashbacks. I think theres a way to get more fights with them. Also I hope Andre returns in the Boys main show
Not that it should matter, but Andre also mentions how he’s very attracted to A-Train and he reacts to a guy’s gaze at the club.
Totally, tbh I think him and luke were platonic but I thing it could be interesting if it wasn't
I hope we get to see a cameo of soldier boy
Nothing makes me laugh more then your breakdowns Paul 😂 thank you for all the laughs so far. On the show, absolutely blew past my expectations as The Boys always does. Can’t wait to see the set up to season 4 !!!
I’m immediately obsessed with this show oh my god
Enjoyed the first 3 episodes and to be honest, the show is greater than expected and is getting better with each episode it seems! Also something you missed Maverick, the R.A. - is Translucent's son, this was said at Translucent's funeral scene in The Boys season 2
One of my favorite parts of the show is seeing the duality of Jordan 🫡.
Adore you and the channel.
oh yeah definitely wanna cover casablanca, incredible film, thanks so much for the kind words
Just binged the first 3 episodes. Loving it so far. Jumanji!
Shows like this are too intense for me to watch, so I low-key appreciate these vids.
3:05 is what gets me spitting my drink and coming back for every video
How come no one is mentioning that Andre, Luke, & Cate are giving throuple vibes? 😅
Well, they've established that both boys already had 'intercourse' with her. There are still episodes left for another flashback...
Looks like a promising new series, thanks Paul. Hope the family is doing well bro 👍🏼
ey thank you, yeah im really enjoying the show too, great first 3 episodes

Thanks for the video Paul! Just finished this, and I loved it! Definitely excited for everything in The Boys universe!
You made me hit the like button right at the 30-minute mark! All references to the like button are hilarious!! 😂 This video is absolutely phenomenal, and I’m really enjoying your content-your sense of humor, especially, stands out. Thanks for lighting up my day
15:15 if only you knew how many times I've listened to this bit...had me crying with laughter imagining you recording that.
Follow up 8 months later...this part still cracks me up! (Rewatching Gen V and the breakdowns for it.)
I felt like Golden Boy was more of a parody of Firestorm from DC Comics. Even his shirt looked similar. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet.
Great start to this show. The characters are so well developed.
Yes. It's rather refreshing.
I loved that moment too
I had taken a massive nap earlier in the day, and waking up at midnight to this was awesome! Guess I watch the episodes
This is looking to be the best spin off ever...
I hope she’ll start being able to make shapes with her blood and stuff. Making it less messy and more marketable lol
When i first saw her powers my first thought was, i wonder if she can clean it up too 😂
i swear she could be like skarlet from mk11 if she honed her powers further
Its rlly impressive how the show only came out today and you already made a breakdown of the first 3 episodes!! Best youtuber 🔥
He gets the episodes early
@@Loch1210 meh still impressive
I think you've missed that Jordan has two more power as a male invulnerability and as a female melee enhanced telekinesis you can see it when she's punching golden boy.
Paulie i agree. The boys are back in town and these 3 episodes are even BETTER THEN THE FIRST 3 OF THE BIYS
9:52 I thought this would be nightcrawler
I like how they visualize how Jordan uses their powers differently when in their male vs female form. They use their male form when they want fo absorb hits and energy and use their female form to redirect and expell that absorbed energy. Youll see them absorb a hit from either a physical blow or an energy blast in their male form, and switch to their female form to expell that energy back to their enemy. I feel like its very similar to Shaw from X Men First Class, but much more subtle. People pay closer attention to their gender switching instead of the real dangerous aspect of their powers
13:30 "Im a pusher, I push people."
Very much been worth the like and subscribe, MUST highly reccomened
Push also the name of the movie starring Chris Evans, where people with similar mind control powers are called pushers.
Yesssss
Wholly shid what a great show and epic breakdown! Let's go Gen V!!!!
For people wondering about Jordan's power being gender based, you can just read the main character's descriptions on prime itself, so yeah. Here: "They have the unique ability to shift between two genders, and abilities-one is dense and indestructible, the other agile and can launch energy blasts".
Just watched the first three ep wow very intense can't wait for ep4
Here for the Queen Maeve funko pop, happy to continue to throw that thumbs up every video and great video AS ALWAYS
Yeah Emma’s amazing lol
Funny how Sam had a payback and black noir poster lol
all 3 episodes were absolute amaze balls 🔥🔥
Seeing the experiments on sam and the collection of Golden Boys dna( and that left over piece) they might be able to clone him? Idk.
Thought that Golden Boy's outfit in the show was really reminiscent of Ozymandias in Watchmen, anyone else?
The Rodney dangerfield mumble take made me lol. Nice one.
The little woodland critters on the walls of the woods are the same ones black noir sees in his ptsd cartoon trio in season 3
Goddammit Paul. I nearly chocked up on my food, laughing at that "Post-Sexist... Eeeeehhhh" thing. 😅😂 You're the best mate.❤
Wish they released all at once. Need the next three episodes.
Jordan also has some sort of propulsion powers, I know this is an old video but they're shown in their fight with Golden Boy
Imagine getting super powers and being able to talk to fish and swim fast, L
Probably let him in the seven out of pity
💀😭
@@SuperBrahimos hahaha they really can make us watch anything if the writing is good enough
@@SuperBrahimos is it that bad i didnt watch yet
You could make money with those powers though, js
11:27 @heavyspoilers yes Maave was alive with no powers, even Ashley covered it up. I think it was an end credit scene.
I was thinking the fire breather in the woods might be her daughter. Or, her hate for supes could come from a supe killing her daughter 🤷♂️
so quick!! best recap here
Your stuff is amazing bruv keep it up. Loved the joke at 2.30
This show is AMAZING!!!❤❤❤
Note that everyone thought A-Train was the first black member of the Seven because Black Noir’s identity was hidden
