Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down the Boys.

Season 4 is now here and over the next two months we're gonna be milking it and breaking down all the easter eggs, hidden details and things you missed in it. I've read back through the graphic novels and hopefully this will be your home...lander for in-depth reviews on the series each and every week. The first three episodes are now out worldwide and in this video we're gonna go through them all.
Now it's a bit, bit difficult to talk about the boys without touching upon politics but I'm gonna keep my own ones out of the breakdowns because I dunno if you want a British dude derailing the video to tell you to vote count bin face. Yes that's a real politician in the UK but yeah we're gonna try navigate this as best as possible by pointing out what the show says rather than what we think.
I always think that the boys goes after both left and right and it touches upon the cultural divisions that are present in the west. Now the series also ties in heavily to Gen V and incase you missed that it centred around Godolkin Highschools experimenting on Supes in the woods. That was their hidden basement base where they developed a virus capable of killing them.

What did Sister sage do at the end of episode 3? The camera pans down on what looks like some kind of knife weapon or something like that covered in blood. You didn't touch on that. You didn't even mention it and I'm so concerned like literally that has been in my head since I finished the episode
@heavyspoilers, you suggest that sister sage and the deep are opposites that attract or their ying to the others yang, i have a different theory. I think that sister sage gave herself a lobotomy to "dumb" herself down as I believe being the smartest person would be exhausting and its her way of unwinding. It felt like she was a different person which this would explain as well as her enjoying the trash tv, junk food and wanting to get it on with the deep. The fact that there was a focus on a bloody tool on the table and it also mentioned in her bio that she had "Mild Regenerative Abilities" back this up. Just my thoughts!

You forgot one thing. In the scene with Sage and Deep, the camera pans to a bloody metal rod, indicating Sage is litterally lobotomising herself to escape her own intelligence. This is why she is eating Junk food, watching reality TV and is suddenly attracted by the Deep.

It was literally not bad in the slightest, homelander was menace, so happy to see dynamic between him and ryan again, it was damn good, that episode was good paced, i dont know how you can watch it and get bored at the same time. Also happy to see Jeffrey D. Morgan in the cast, this season might be the most gory, action packed, bloody, violent, brutal and generally most enjoyable out of all seasons, i was waiting for too long and it was really a worthy. You all gotta watch this show, it really is not for everyone but whoever likes the stuff like this, you must give it a chance to it, you'll love it, Go for it!

I'm curious as to why she lobotomized herself. Is it because she doesn't like to think so much about everything that is happening around her?
Someone made a good point that her lobotomizing herself could be a way of her decompressing, maybe even getting a high effect from it.
I love that we get to see Butcher and Ryan together and Butcher kind of tell him he's really sorry for the way he treated him. Ryan seems to be slowly realizing how terrible his father really is. It also shows that Ryan has a moral compass that he follows, meanwhile his "Father" is just unhinged as ever. I feel like this could lead to hommie trying to "start all over" and hurt Ryan, which could lead to Butcher going full crazy mode. I think causing him to take full compound V.

I love Sage as a character. She is probably the only supe to not cause any kind of collateral damage because of her lack of physical power. However she isn't using her super itellect for true good.
Who gives a shit. They put her in there and the first thing she starts talking about it is race. The writing for season 4 is shit so far. No one gives a shit about Huey's family. It's extra fluff to extend the episode that doesn't add anything interesting to the plot.

HVAC is coated in zinc to prevent corrosion which was established as something that Homelander can’t see through in S1

In regards to the Vought on Ice part, and your question about why Homelander didn't use his X-ray vision, according to some Americans I've spoken to about it, it's because the air vents are made from Galvanized steel, which apparently is coated in Zinc for corrosion resistance, so it's likely he tried, and realised he couldn't actually see through the air vents and had to rely on his hearing, rather than sight/x-ray vision.
I just assumed that his X-ray vision has a limited distance and Hughie was too far away.

Great breakdown! This show is peak! I like how almost every character is facing an internal conflict that is inevitably gonna make or break them, shows how human everyone is. The show has also really done great job with parallels of real life & makes it feel like a very accurate depiction of how life would be if the world really had supes.
The ice rink scene was crazy
A lil bit about the gen V actor that got into that accident. Chance Perdomo was born on Oct. 19, 1996, in Los Angeles, Calif. As a child, he moved with his mother to Southampton in the county of Hampshire, England, where he attended Redbridge Community School before going to Peter Symonds College in Winchester. Perdomo intended to study Law, but instead moved to London to pursue acting; he joined the National Youth Theatre and trained at Identity School of Acting.

I live near the palace of Auburn Hills and it was only demolished because the Detroit Pistons moved to Little Caesars Arena, which is a huge brand new arena built in downtown Detroit. The Palace Was 30min north of Detroit. They had no need for anymore. Now it’s being turned into apartments and business complexes

But if you look at her profile in the first episode, you can see that Sage has got regeneration listed as one of her abilities.
Meaning that if she did lobotomize herself, it wouldn't be for long and I highly doubt someone as smart as her would be thrown away after just 3 episodes. I think she did that because of the stress of Homelander, but it'll come back.
