These amps are unbelievable for the money. Looks like a toy but the sound is enormous it does blues through to metal and everything in between. This thing replaced my Katana 50.
I used to have a Micro Terror, then sold it during tough times and eventually replaced it with a Joyo Meteor which was stolen. So I just finally made the move to grab a Micro Dark for a good deal used and can't wait for it to come in!
This was my first amp and I still have it! I don't play it much any more because it's not really my type of sound these days. I've been considering the new SLO Mini that just released or maybe the BE Mini. I love the tiny amps they're plenty loud enough for home use and live if you mic them up or slave them out to a power amp or a backline amp and just use it as a preamp it will definitely be heard. I imagine you'd like the Terror Stamp even more than the micro dark since it's basically a pedal haha
i've used this live before. i use a rat distortion and a fuzz pedal and play through a randall 4x12 cabinet and it does great for the kind of music i do lol.
I used it as a pedal platform too. I’ve since switched to the terror stamp. If I ever get to play in a band situation again it’ll be the heart of my rig.
I’ve honestly moved on to the Terror Stamp, which is pretty much the same thing in a pedal format. But that’s my core tone is the micro terror with an overdrive, it’s perfect.
Short answer: it depends lol. Long answer: If you have an efficient speaker and don’t need a clean tone, it’ll handle a bar gig. If you have an inefficient speaker and/or want clean headroom, it won’t keep up. I’d put it on par with a 6-7 watt tube amp for volume. The speaker is key though.
if you use a distortion pedal it keeps up for the most part. i have played live with one through a randall 4x12 cab. i use a rat distortion pedal and a fuzz pedal and it works ok for a bar gig.
New sub. Thank you for your review. I'm just getting back to playing after about 25 year of not really playing. Equipment has come a long way. I was in the Navy, and on top of that my son is a drummer, so my money went to drum equipment. I've been using an Les P standard, and a Jackson mostly through an old Crate CR-280. I just ordered this, and a Line-6 4x12 (cheap end). It seems we have the same taste in music. I might like some heavier things like Slayer. I got a Donner, giant metal pedal. There is .0001% chance I will be playing shows, but would like to be able to jam with friends (drummer) and be clean. 1. Am I on the right path? 2. Any advice before I buy things I shouldn't. Thank you, John
Awesome, thanks for the sub and welcome back to playing guitar! Honestly, if you want clean, this probably isn’t the amp you want. With distortion it’ll keep up with a drummer fine, but it’s doesn’t really get sparkly clean. But, look into Joyo Bantamps. They have amps that mimick most of the famous amps, and they have a clean channel. I’ve only played the Vox version, but they have ones for Mesa boogies, Orange, Marshall, I think a Peavey 5150.
Hi Chuck I have this and really like it but finding it too loud for home use. If I turn it down then it doesn't sound as good. What load box did you use here. Great video!
It’s actually an attenuator, a Weber Mini Mass. When you it all the way down, it’s effectively a load box. It has a line out, which I then send to the Mooer Radar for IR cab sim. So it probably would achieve what you’re trying to achieve.

I’m constantly selling and buying amps, this amp is one I’ll never part with. It comes to every gig I play.
I have a gig coming up. And am going to use it. Sounds awesome.
Fantastic video!!!

I bought a Micro Terror...expecting it soon.
You are awesome at your jams, brotha. Thnx for the vid
N. H. Moreno right on, hope you enjoy it!
You made that lil thing sound good! Great review!

with a overdrive (pacifically a Boss SD1) sounds mint and is under 250

This and an Orange ppc 1x12 have replaced my Fender Bassbreaker 15 combo.
Hey Guys this amp have enought power for gigs without mic ?

Orange distortion sounds like the old jass chorus distortion. Terrible
