- I detail my experience with the Outback Shower from Kakadu as well as show you everything that came with it and ultimately why I decided to return the shower. I have to say that @Kakadu_USA was a very good about the whole process of the return. Shout out to Aaron in customer support!
While we returned it and had a major issue, I think that this is still a good product for the right situation.
We'll be buying the @geysersystems3184 shower and trying that in the future instead. Check out the video as to why.

As far as the ignition, what brand hose did you use to connect to your propane bottle? I know a lot of propane camping products have issues with no-name brand hoses. Coleman hoses are made specifically for propane. Other hoses are just rubber hoses and the propane can collect particles of rubber off the hose which will burn and clog up the burners. They do sell filters, but Coleman hoses are always the best way to do to not clog up appliances. I do appreciate the video, I am looking to buy this one for some of our overlanding adventures. We spend months and months on the road and this seen like a good compact option for showers. Thank you again for the great review. RLTW
I used the Ignik Gas Growler 5lb tank and it comes with the hose connector that works for this type of connection. It seems very high quality to me. I hope that helps. Sounds like you have some awesome trips planned! Thanks very much for watching!
@@BenInBeta Cool. From what I know by speaking with Coleman. They are the only company that coats the interior of their hoses with some chemical that doesn't break down the rubber from propane. Usually people have this problem from the heaters clogging up. Anyway, I wonder if that was the issue with it not firing up right away.
It's possible, but the Ignik system is new and has been used only a couple of times previously.
I wet myself in 10s. Turn it off. Soap up the head and body. Turn it back on and rinse off in 30s. Use just a bit more than 1/4 of a Gal. So far this works very well for me on my 10-ish days trip. Pretty much shower 3 times and barely used 1 gal + or - a couple oz. This also work well when bathing my GSD. She likes her water warm.
Awesome, I'm glad it's working out for you! Thanks for the comment and the view.
Good review. They are on sale for Black Friday and I was wondering about this. I have my own powered water setup in my 80 Land Cruiser and when I want a hot shower I just boil some water and add to the water. It might seem like more work but it really isn't and I save a lot of space and cost. BTW...the Packers suck this year!! 😜
Thanks and they certainly do suck this year.
What water tank holder you using? Looked nice that it closes
amzn.to/3IFXTxf it's the Friendly Swede Collapsible Bucket. It is pretty nice.
Like the other unit is cheap just go boil water to your liking get a sponge … DONE! well under 250$ plus for a basic canister with pump and sponge
I agree. We'll be excited to test it out next season!
This is exactly the same as the AquaHeat shower which is the Australian version sold in Australia. Kakadu wants us stupid rich American sheep to pay $500 for the exact same thing which only costs $215 in Australia! I just bought an Aquaheat from Australia including shipping I paid $323.
Anyone want to buy one I'll get you one from Australia for $380 shipped to your door. I think $50 profit for me is ok 😂
Thanks for letting people know about an alternative.
Interested!!! How can I order?
Bullshit. give me a link to one for $215 AUD. They are $379 on sale at Anaconda atm everywhere else is around $400. I'd say you got a second hand one.
