Still doesn’t feel right that he left right when the car was championship contending material. I hope when he returns he has a car capable of winning or even contending.
The difference of treatment between Ferrari and Alpine is astonishing. Ocon was thrown out like an old rag, Sainz left with Ferrari giving him all the honor.
In the future, Carlos deserves to be linked to Ferrari for his loyalty. He is a great driver with education and values, just like Ferrari. They make a great team.
How nice is that? Carlos leaves Ferrari on a high. Like Berger, I see him back at Ferrari one day. It was a decision pro Lewis, and not against Carlos. As well as Lewis' decision was pro Ferrari, and not against Mercedes. 2025 will be a top season again.
LH's decision was definitely against Mercedes. A year prior he said he would never drive for Ferrari and would like to end his career at Mercedes. After Mercedes denied him the hundreds of millions he wanted he ran to Ferrari...😂
@deerlord2363 conveniently changing the facts to paint your own narrative, eh? Mercedes wanted him to call it quits at the end of '25 and retire. Not to mention denying him the Brand Ambassador role even after 6 driver titles, 8 constructor titles, and almost 12 years of service. Ferrari gave him 2 additional years in F1 along with the role he wanted; in return, he gave them the marketability of the most famous and influential racer in the world. Carlos, as much as I love his character, was just an unfortunate victim in the whole thing.
Grande emozione veder correre padre e figlio insieme. Sainz Jr. mi mancherà perché oltre ad essere un buon pilota è una figura positiva in Ferrari. Sotto questo aspetto, lascia una pesante eredità al pluri campione.
I don't think this is the last time we see Sainz driving for Ferrari - they know they are making a mistake. The event is a nice touch and would have been nicer had they driven Schumacher and Barricello's cars.
