    For the other viewers with similar questions. Basically, you're confusing local/global delivery cycles. The way this city is set up should create a huge shitshow when it comes to traffic, but it's moot with the way I have my supply loop set up. Global deliveries are literally a contained unit: global market sends truck in, it goes to your raw supply center (no idea why), then to the depot where it pays you, then leaves. If it's stuck in traffic on the way out, it doesn't matter.

    I really appreciate this video. I've been looking for someone who just gets right to the point without having to watch them play. Your cuts, and thoughtful editing achieved that. Thank you for taking time to create this video. As a trade nut, I had been on the brink of success with a city built around trade. I never achieved it though due to my troubles handling the juggling and knowing when or what to build certain things. So thank you again!

    Honestly never really had problems with traffic holding up my global market deliveries in this build. Since the highway to my loop was so close to the entrance, it was kind of a moot point. If your entrance is farther back, it might be a bigger problem, but in this case, it wasn't an issue. I was slightly concerned about traffic in this town before I realized that you get the money when global trucks first hit the depot, not when they exit town.

    ARHHH!!!! build a Trade HQ besides the metal HQ, give the Trade HQ the metal expansion, so you can use trade harbors (this way around, you get to import anything for metal alot faster, still getting the alloy first), then with the trade harbors, build docks for ships, now all your export/import is off the roads, and you can export/import at whole lot more... and it won't ever be clocked by traffic, unless you have traffic channeling through the alloy area, that isn't going to work in those factories. just an advice

    Health issues are just as common on an industrial oriented city as crime is in your tourist attraction because that place also has casinos. What I like to do because my tourist town also has a Vu Tower and therefore a bit of a decent industrial business of its own, is that I like to build a MaxisManor with a statue of MaxisMan in the same city and have him fight crime, but that is because I also have a MaxisMan expansion pack.

    pankawk, set up a depo with 1 freight addon next to your industry. It will end up tieing up trucks in traffic when they have to drive from your specialization through your residential to your industry and back again.
    Also, have you figured out if Medium wealth/high wealth will work in high tech industry?

    Update: each unstarted city in my region have 10mil and I’m sitting on 21.5 in the industry city. Total of 71mil out there in less than 24 hours. And my great works is almost on phase 2.

    Very good video... I recreated my own electronics meca... though I also threw in the Omega... proved to cut into my profits more but once I got the drones going everything re-balanced out though I added the extra cost of importing the oil...
    All I can say to the haters of this game is oh please...it works well and for the average person that simcity 4 challenged this one was most definitely a scaled down one in terms of skill required... i hated the small regions at first but I figured out how to make them work for me...
    *Pist for traffic don't 90* / 4 way intersection try to use more 3 ways and take some roads to go over a few of your intersecting streets so you reduce the cars touching every single road you got it works wonders for bottlenecks

    Maybe with your tiny population, once you get over 200,000 people in your town and 100,000 visitors it will! With the set up of your town I doubt you will want to take it over 40,000 sims living there.
    I thought the trucks picked up shait to sell ---> Drove off map ----> Drove onto Map ---> Dropped off Money/Picked up new Shipment ---> Drove off map
    Also, why are we talking on youtube...

    Hows does the global Market on the servers work??? I wonder if the stats online are totally random or based on export/ import rates of individual regions on each server.

    Hi bro, after watching your SC silicon valley guide i've tried to 'copycat' it or rather do the best with my city with the info gathered from your guide.
    Neither less to say it sure did help me A LOT, since it helped me to notice some MAJOR flaws in my gameplay.
    The main reason for writing this, apart from giving HUGE thumbs up to your guide, would be to humbly ask for 15-20mins of your time to consult my applied knowledge from your guide to my city, as i find it rather helpful to talk with someone rather than just 'googleing/do that-then that' since that way i get more clearer image of the goal in the game.
    Also i liked your narrating in the vid. Anyway feel free to contact me if you have some spare time.My Origin-SC5 name is Azezzel
    May the Sims be with you, cheers!

    A lot of sacrifice and deficit spending. Seems risky. I use some patience at the start and let things develop naturally. At 100k pop you should have enough recyclables to produce all the alloy and plastic you need to make processors, basically free resources other than the recycling plant cost. Once you start exporting processors, a million a month profit is attainable. One maxed processor plant can easily provide funds for an entire region. We havent even got to tv's and pc's yet!

    Its risky business running your city in the red that way, if one factory goes down and you are unable to produce a resource, its game over. However, I think you are on the right track. Yet, I am not convinced that this business model you demonstrated will produce this particular city millions due to your deficit spending.

      It's a different matter if you also have a Cities of Tomorrow expansion pack and build OmegaCo factories in the same city.

    • @gmatsue84
      @gmatsue84 7 років тому +3

      Well, if you make 100K each hour exporting something, and lose 25K with services, doesn't that mean you make 75K?

      Specialising in trading doesn't add to your income per hour as its not a steady source of income but if you keep on selling you can make millions.

    nice guide (y) your making -25.000 sims pr / hour haha. you've had to gift or bond fora million to get that city and its still in minus man. the way you did it isent reliable at all man.

      Once you're bringing in the cash you can pay off the bonds which he took out and the deficient will go down a lot.

      Not true, I've made cities with -$100,000 per hour deficit, but that's only because the city specialization revenue doesn't class in that number. So you'll still be making money.

    • @tomaszlosinski875
      @tomaszlosinski875 7 років тому

      pokkers1 the electronics specialisation doesn't add every hour but every month. I'm in the alloy stage and loosing 9K an hour but by clicking on the budget panel I can see that I'm making over 400K a month with no dept from bonds.

    • @TheMoroPL

      I know this comments 2 months old but for those like myself just finding this it's worthwhile to make a few notes. First is that yes you are in the red but that's called loss leading and not to be -overly- concerned. He does warn you not to ignore that but also don't freak out. The money comes in large lump sums but doesn't display on your income list.

    • @MonguinAssassin
      @MonguinAssassin 10 років тому +1

      Arcamean That sort of income shows on your Transactions list because it works independently from your hourly income.
