Puremagnetik is pleased to release Small Winters, an idiosyncratic looper inspired by tape collage and microsound.
The Small Winters plugin comes with the album Small Winters by Taylor Deupree and is available now through Puremagnetik on Bandcamp.
Small Winters loops up to 12 seconds of incoming audio that you can record onto 3 separate tracks. Each track can have independent modulating loop points that travel across the recording's duration, producing creative phrases and textures that can take on a life of their own.
Beyond recording modulations, each track in Small Winters can be pitch shifted and bussed to a tape-age effect or routed to a granular dissection effect with spectral blurring. The device also allows overdubbing on each track so you can build more than three phrases that dynamically interact.
Sounds nice. Don't forget the mailing list and us Century folks...
I bought today. Great album and effect
how did you install it? and where is it allocated in the system?
@@neunow in OS X (Mac) standard vsti folder
looks a bit like cba habit?

Sounds great, concept looks really interesting. Does it work as vst effect or vst instrument? If its instrument there can be a problem with routing an audio into it. There is constant recording or it has to be triggered by any button? If recording has to be triggered, what about midi mapping for this behavior? I wanna use it within VCV Rack, this is why Im asking about these things 🙂 thx for Your reply, as I said, Small Winter looks as a great gear!
Can this also do real time effects instead of recording a signal?
Hi,
I can't seem to figure out how to map some of the Small Winters functions to my midi controller - namely the buttons row (rec, clear, tape, grain, print), all the other controllers are easily mapped.
I'm using Reaper (latest) on Win 10. Behringer X-Touch Mini controller though should be irrelevant.
Clearly those functions are mappable based on this vid (ua-cam.com/video/inzTJoARkBU/v-deo.html) so I guess it's a user/os/daw/controller issue..
Cheers,
I love it. But I can't find out how to record. Where does it take the input from? If I play an audio file in my DAW and record, nothing happens :).
Is this only for Ableton? :/
Did you ever find out?
It's a VST2/3 or audio unit plugin so it works in all hosts except Pro Tools
cannot believe how cheap your plugins are for how good quality they all are
