@@dougrudebaker7708 It's ridiculous. If I had a nickel every time I had to tell a long island lady "Excuse me, my thresholds are up here", I wouldn't have to worry about my student loans anymore.
The absolute BEST video I’ve seen demonstrating this new “guitar” pedal is from our favorite harpist. I think you more quickly understand the possibilities of this pedal than all us guitar players who are stuck in our “pedal box.”
How does this channel only have 33.5k subs?!?! She is so talented and the production value is amazing. It's amazing the sound this lady gets from just a harp! Keep up the good work! Also, I feel like I've seen you somewhere before... maybe it's just the accent.
7:52 Not only does it sound cool, but I imagine the side chain is fun to PLAY too. Imagine the instrument reacting in a way we aren’t used to. We love feeling those dynamics of side chain stuff, but don’t imagine happening live.
“If you had a pedal you wish was stereo” [proceeds to plug in the single biggest wish we all have for that which some of us were hopeful was getting a MKii today] aiiiiiiiiyahhhhhhhh ❤ Of course I still bought one. Pretty please CB, Thermae 2 next, in stereo. It’s time. The Xvive MN3005s are real and yours for the circuit bending.
I see now why so many of these videos are creepy music! You're composing your first horror indie game and these videos are helping you find the sounds and effects you're looking for. Very sneaky!
You are playing beautifully! Well done - this was my favourite demo video of all the pedals so far. I'm really blown away at what you've done with the Clean! THE Perfect pedal for HARP and other piezo instruments!
This pedal is an instant buy for me. The stereo widener after mono effects is a fucking game changer. Wow. Your playing in this video is also so lovely and really really bring the best out of these pedals. The bit at 5:23 is especially enchanting. Sounds like an unused sample from edIT's Crying Over Pros For No Reason.
The effect for the harp gives very interesting sound in stereo. I listen with closed headphones and the sound is very good. Thank you for your sharing. My friendships
An (almost) 60 year old new composer and learn quite a bit from your channels :) I really appreciate the time you put in to teach using interesting techniques that help us to create authentic/unique sounds.
Ive been looking around for a good compressor, and trying to find a pedal that does stereo panning without any other effects attached to it. This does both and it side chains.
I was looking for a distortion for my kazoo, will I need a special microphone and Neve preamp or can I go though the talkback microphone on the SSL? Asking for the llama at the farm. You said everything!
What is that white synth you have playing in the side chain compression example? Apologies if you mentioned it and I missed it but I'd like to scope it out! Amazing video! Thanks for always making great videos and for your terrible (actually awesome) puns from time to time :)
Great video! Will I be able to side chain from “clean” to a second amp or daw channel? Also, I assume the “wet” knob is a slight reverb? Does anyone know? I’ve been looking for a solid compression pedal. This seems to be much more than that. Hey harp lady, I bought “onward” because of your video review. I appreciate seeing where your knobs are all dialed in here. I’ll tune them in & see what your sounds do. I feel like “onward” does what it does… and not always what I want it too. You have to enjoy the ride. I guess I wanted more of a combination octaver & freeze pedal but end up staying just for the glitches & bloops. It’s nice to see “clean” might tame “onwards” unruly self. Thank you.
„Isn’t based on any other existing compressor circuit“ has me a bit sceptical, how would that be even possible? There are only so much ways to control volume and for that size my best guess is it’s a VCA, cause they’re small (and clean). I know you just had to say these marketing terms cause they themselves used that exact same sentence, no blame to you but this seems to be somewhat false advertising on their end. Please someone enlighten me if I’m wrong (I would love that)
There’s a huge diversity of VCA-based compressor approaches out there. Wrangling one for digital control AND cool vibe/character (while still keeping it low noise) required designing the whole thing from the ground up. The VCA is only one small piece of that. There are maybe 2-3 digitally controlled analog compressors on the market which means way fewer points of comparison than the average pedal design.
I’ve done some stuff with my kalimba through pedals and always thought the limitations were related to it being a cheap instrument or a cheap pickup rather than a limit to piezos in general. Do you know of any content that explains/and expands on this at all? Might be good to understand for future impulse pedal purchases :)
Informative review, thank you. You mentioned not getting along with distortion and overdrive - this DIY thing was published the other day, it might open that orbit up to you. The guy is a guitar pedal old hand and seems to know his stuff. A kiwi, independent perspective. Just before the link, I asked chatgpt, it's a choke, a coil of wire around a soft iron core, simulating the impedance of a guitar pickup - he's suggesting it for guitarists, but it will suit anyone not using a passive coil pickup. If it's not something you can find, it's simple enough for a friend to knock together. P.s. my only reference for Staten Island is "What we do in the Shadows" ua-cam.com/video/wGhL9IyExns/v-deo.htmlsi=Enhhi0fSZ2fJRVxt
I've said it once, I'll say it again, I'll say it 69 times: those long Island girls love their sidechain compression.

True! The effort put in finding those chase bliss combinations' sounds and the results make this a dream demo 🙌🏼

The 'Dusty' portion with the modular sounded AMAZING. Well, everything did, really. Thanks!
Thanks! I love Dusty

The bit around 9:17 reminded me of the Legion series theme. Always a pleasure to listen to your experiments!
God I love that show. Really excited about the Alien series the creator is doing.
you two engage with the beautiful rather than the blues rock - it is so refreshing and inspiring

Holy crap, that little jam during the "dusty" section is amazing! Awesome job!!!!
Dusty mode has major Transistor vibes, especially with those drums.

Love this pedal , thank you for the info goth egg
Usually I find Chase Bliss stuff to be too twee by half but this is a rather versatile and functional box
This is easily the most twee of all their offerings.

incredible. I was off it as being a thing I'd want until listening to you demo it with thermae and onward. Sounds so lovely.
Ive watched a few reviews of this pedal and this is far and away the best because you really know what you are doing. Great stuff!!
Nicely done. Great musician, great demo.

Great marketing skills! Seems like you're so honest too! Great channel, you know that.
I can't even afford these pedals but that is the most beautiful harp playing, as always.
Im convinced Goth Egg has taken over her channel and Emily is on holiday on an island somewhere.
this was fun to listen to when slightly high
I’ve always wanted a pedal that does clean stuff whatever that means. Will check out

Yeah, I like hearing you play this much.
When that compression hits, all the Long Island girls be on the floor with that flow.
I play accordion with microphones. Almost any distortion is not possible because of uncontrollable feedback. This sounds like FUN!

Where can i get a good harp that is budget. My son wants to play and I'd love a personal recommendation from the queen of harp in the 21st century.
It seems CB pedals are always more geared towards creating soundscapes then playing actual music or am i mistaken?
