In this video, I'm discussing the 5 year anniversary of the release of Eminem's KILLSHOT diss track. 5 years later, the diss still remains one of Eminem's most popular and critically acclaimed releases. In this video, I talk about the reaction to the diss and how it has changed MGK and the course of his career.

You know who else sucked as much as Binge? You Crypt
Chillinit- one breath one take.
If you don’t rate it I’ll eat my work boots
Crypt, can you stop milking this topic? Talking above Killshot is literally your most-viewed video. Youve got to stop, bro, you milk this every year.

It didn't I'm a big rap fan music fan in general It literally was the kill shot and Eminem said it himself It grazed me I say 1 call to Interscope ur swazyAnd honestly I guarantee he's to busy to even pick up a phone, Besides he wouldn't do that it'd make him look like a bitch that's a bitch move something Machine gun Kelly would do It's literally a rap...
Him stuttering so much right after making fun of Em for it never gets old. 😂 Then he did it again calling out Cory Taylor on stage made it even funnier
Fr 😂😂😂
Bro, Cory Taylor is the last dude’s buttons’ you wanna push. He is a very nice dude but taking his kindness for weakness is a very bad idea. Not gonna lie MGK got fucking Crushed by Eminem I like MGK’s rap but he took shots at Eminem and Em is not the person to start beef with eveyone who listens to rap knows this even people who don’t like Eminem have stated he is still top g of rap you got old school rappers even saying his is the GOAT like Warren G for example. I still listen to mgk and Eminem both they have good songs that speak to me they can beef it’s not up to me. I still enjoy both of their music. I am mainly a metalhead so most of my Spotify is legit metal hard rock and thrash metal. But I have bits of country music dubstep and a number of other genres. But I also listen to rap and Eminem MGK Tech N9ne Krizz Kaliko Hopsin the list goes on. So yeah I am a metal head but I have a deep respect for music an those that can perform it cuz all I can do is sing ballads and army cadence’s. So when someone else can do something I can’t, I respect that.
@@thizzmonkey7846Corey Taylor is music’s biggest 🐈. Couldn’t even say mgk’s name when he dissed him, then tried to change the reason why he dissed him. No one respects that old ass poser anymore. He’s lucky he’s got 8 other dudes to carry his ass
I cannot believe it’s been that long since I witnessed a real Em beef as an adult. What a time.

Two morals of the story:
1: No matter how talented you are it's always best to watch what you say.

The fact that I came across last years 4year video yesterday again and then boom this drops thank you Crypt!
I don't think Eminem cared, or cares even today, if MGK would become bigger in other genres of music.
I'd say that he did what his diss aimed to accomplish, belittle him or even send him away from Rap Genre.
Now obviously he still drops rap songs here and there but his numbers aren't the same.
Numbers aren’t the same? MGKs numbers go up everyday. Including this video. Cyrpt is making a video about MGK because he knows it’s going to do numbers. That’s the MGK effect
Also Crypt knows people are going to argue in the comments which also is also numbers in the comments

I just can’t believe it’s been 5 years, that’s absolutely crazy, I remember when Rap Devil came out and we were all waiting for a response
Some of the most watered down, dickless, inane pop rock music ever made did just as well as his rap career at its peak. I think that says it all.
You forgot to mention that megan fox kicks him out and start following Eminem hahah
One things for sure MGK must be listening to fans, that Misery Business of Paramore that he dropped a short of I asked him if he could do the complete song, I didn't expect him to actually do it but literally two - three days later he dropped the full song.
Great video homie
“I gotta answer this motherfucka” 🥶
Loved the video would like to see a follow up on how it affected em
u forgot to mention, he is now a grammy nominated artist.
I really dont think Eminem made him bigger. Kelly basically had his rap career killed, from both Killshot and then him releasing Binge. In that moment, he realized he could make rock music people would like, and rebuilt himself to do that. He basically found a different audience that would listen, and used that to build himself back better. And now that hes popular again hes trying to break back into rap, which is honestly a very smart play by kelly. Homie got shot, died, and then built up a different career
I did not even know MGK was a rapper until Eminem dissed him 😂
Been waiting for this. Even dropped a comment on the 4 year video saying it had now been 5 years. Can't believe it honestly. This is the one Eminem beef I can say I was around for, and honestly it will likely sadly be the last one as I don't see Eminem ever doing another full length diss again. He saw how relevant it made MGK which he didn't want, so just like he switched to surprise albums after Revival yeah I don't see him doing a full length diss again. The best we can hope for is the subtle jabs in songs on albums or features, like the jabs at MGK on MTBMB or the jab at Game on Realest. Man 5 years really went by like it was nothing, it was such an important time in my life honestly as Kamikaze as well as that beef single handedly got me back into Em.
respectfully, this isnt the last time eminem will respond, hes 51 and remember he just put MEllY MEL in the grave for being TOXIC, 51 isnt that old anymore in the rap game when you got OGs in there 60s. eminem is very familiar with current events, hes also in the booth everyday 9-5. and remember what he SAID IMMA rap till im fossil fuel! By the time EMINEM is done he will have bodied 4 -5 generations of rap spanning his rap career from age 17-50+. hes still got 10 + more years of rap , he is the GOAT and it will never be CLOSE
@@tonecapone614 yeah I just said the best we can hope for is jabs on songs which is what that was... we'll probably never get a full length diss track again is what I said, i.e Killshot.
Also it has nothing to do with age. Em has said he hates giving these people publicity, which is what happened when he dissed MGK, yes he got destroyed but his name also became way bigger. People have dissed him since (Nick Cannon, Game, Melly Mel) and the only response we've really got is a few jabs on other songs. That's why I said we'll probably never get a full length diss track going at one person specifically again, just like how he started dropping surprise albums because he hated the response Revival got, he'll probably never do a diss track again because he hated Killshot making MGK bigger.
Please do one with how it affected Em! I would pay to see that! I love your breakdowns and videos! Please!!
For me it's hard to see all those people arguing here. I listen to enimem since his Rihanna features and I listen to mgk since his song "warning shot" was featured in video game "saints row IV"... I think what most forget and that's not only on this topic but actually any topic, is that it's not always just black and white. Enimem is not the Rap God, in the sense that he's flawless, omnipotent and can do anything. Just like mgk is not the Rap devil. He switched genres because he always was in between rap and punk rock. Old fans like me know and always appreciate his punk rock influences, but I don't care what genre someone puts him in, he has been very artistic, experimental and authentic person his whole career and opened up more and more with every year. Because he knows not to try to fit in and just do what he vibes with in the moment. MGK's lockdown sessions are the best example. I don't like every song of mgk and I definitely like his older rap tracks way more, just like I like enimem's classics more than his new shit. But imo enimem never got out of the musical cage he and his fans built for him, limiting himself as an artist. I always thought about that as kinda sad, even before the mgk conflict and it's one of the reasons I don't feel most if enimem's music. The lyrics, rhymes, patterns and flow are always interesting to analyze but musically it's just boring sometimes and does not get me hooked if u know what I mean.
Can’t believe it’s been 5 years since this happened! I still remember MGK rap devil because I had zero clue who this guy was till this dropped. My instant reaction was that I thought this was a punk guy trying to diss a guy known for dissing people and most of the time ending artist career. MGK screams punk rock image because I had zero clue he was a Rap artist back then. I do give props to him to switching genres as that had to be the smartest move he’s done but it further shows that Eminem is a guy you really don’t wanna have trouble with especially in his playground. I’ve still never listened to a MGK rap song but I can say his punk rock is catchy. Also I believe he’s now identifying as just ‘Machine’ as his ‘Machine Gun Kelly’ was supposed to be a gangster name.
Please do one of these vids about Eminem

Eminem, Slip Knot, Jack Harlow, like there was no need to go after Slip Knot for no reason. Dude is a joke to me and will never be anything more. (To me)
Are you stupid Cory attacked him and mgk responded same with jack and em.
@@GH0STUN1Tnot the same with Em at all. mgk attacked Em 1st subbing him on the tech 9 feature & tweets preying on Ems underage child which is sick especially after he said he fucks kids in that video interview.
I wouldn't say that what Em didn't want to happen happened. If the effect of your diss track gets the other person to completely switch styles, that's a major win lol
I think it was the numbers mgk was seeing that made home switch not Eminem, he didn't switch till 2 albums after the beef
@@lookatowel he cha he’s genre because of Eminem embarrassing him
As a fan of both Em & MGK, that time period of them going back and forth had everybody in my vocational school talking. Loved both Killshot & Rap Devil. It showed MGK can actually hold his own in rap. But never have I been so pissed at an artist for not taking full advantage of an opportunity to show what they are really capable of. Kelly should have dropped either Hotel Diablo or one of the singles he was dropping for that album instead of BINGE if he was going to capitalize on the momentum he was getting with the beef against Eminem. That would have spared him a bit of the backlash he was getting from it. And that terrible Breakfast Club interview Kells did should have NEVER happened. But seeing him revitalize his career after it looked like it was clipped for him after going against one of the biggest names in Hip-Hop is impressive. Honestly am waiting on MGK to drop a new rap album
shouldve included the recent features and the single. fair though. (die hard fan and i like binge but its okay, im a nobody)
When I found out that G-Eazy too was kinda involved in their beef, it made realize that both Eminem and G-Eazy won the beef, despite him having another issue with Kelly, that being Halsey around that time, and I appreciated that Eminem shouted and defended G on Killshot, even though G-Eazy always respected Eminem and spoke very highly of him
Nah he roasted G Eazy lol
But all em did was lie how would mgk be “salty” about Halsey when he slept with a girl that wasn’t his, on a one night stand type of thing . He would be if he was trying to get her.
@@Jackmarcella mgk came at Em for Rihanna 1st when em never even publicly dated her either so mgks bars are actually lies too but since you said all em did was lie which bar do you need breaking down?
@@carnage3208 🧢
LOL
The fact ppl make videos on this is wild kill shot is a genuinely horrible listen and the only thing that’s happened for mgk in the last years is his mainstream success despite how bad his pop punk might be
Not only did MGK change his gender, he changed his genre!!!
FOAC plz.
I wonder if the beef had nearly as much of an impact on Eminem as it did on MGK. Also, I wonder if MGK had any Hotel Diablo songs ready in time for Binge. If he did, I wonder what would’ve happened if he released them instead of Binge. Also, I’m pretty sure there were hints of his pop rock leanings in the Bloom album. I can’t remember which song it was in.
Why do you wonder such things? Coulson isnno longer a rapper and eminem is.
Off that album He could’ve dropped either El Diablo, I Think I’m Okay, Floor 13, Hollywood Whore, or Glass House to get at least a bit better reception instead of rushing and dropping BINGE
Not sure if it was ready yet, idk when but he completely revamped Hotel Diablo from the original album it was going to be, the album we got was after whatever he scrapped originally
@@A0142-m1jHe's been rapping lol what you talking about
@@carnage3208 you call that shit rap? No dawg gotta up them standards. The man has 0 skills, 0 credibility and is moving all funny and pansily.
If them punk rock dudes want him they can have coulson but hip hop is supposed to stand for something.
I think its worth noting he was booed off stage when he had beef with corey taylor which is why he went back to rap because he realized he pissed off alot of people.
