i agree with your sentiment about how unfair it is for critics to compare the new ac titles to unity. however, i do understand why. unity provided one of the best stealth in the entire franchise, and since we're playing in an assassin fantasy, that's pretty important. however, credit where credit is due, mirage gave us pretty good stealth options too. unity is just better at delivering that, albeit littered with bugs. but anyway, great video. i loved the kills at 4:23 the most. something about it seemed so visceral to me
honestly, while I criticize the gameplay and sometimes story elements of an AC Game but there's something I like from each of them. Mirage may have less manual input in terms of parkour it still has a level of complexity to it that pair's well with Baghdad's parkour route's and controls feel responsive But we often overlook that because of what came before or after with any AC game. Unity has amazing parkour animation's but there so long and drawn out it feels like there's input delay, now if you practice button discipline you can get past that but trial and error will occur in stealth when a randomized animation plays that disrupts your flow state and causes you to reset to capture that cinematic feel, especially for video content but sometimes works perfectly and that is satisfying. A lot of AC Fan's want a system based on what came before or after whether its the AC1-AC Rev parkour cancellation mechanic's, AC3-Rogue's brutal double counter kill and whistle mechanic's and or ACU-AC Syn's beautiful parkour animations and graphics or ACO-AC Vall's Expansive open world and quest design. And that is what needs to be addressed by Ubisoft because I feel we could have all of this if it was simply an option Within a game.
I might get hate but idc, Unity went from underrated to Overrated. The gameplay is fire but everything else like the Story, Arno, combat, side characters and the bugs/jank (which are still present) ruin the game. The game does have a great setting and stealth i must admit, the parkour tho is also overrated, Arno just does whatever he wants, there is input delay and alot of jank. The game is unpolished but an AMAZING example of what AC could have become.
Level design too. Graphically it's beautiful, but in terms of engagement and utilization the missions and world as a whole don't flow the parkour and general gameplay together making it very uncomfortable to actually play like as an assassin. It's refreshing to know that others also think it has become overrated.
Exactly. To add more criticism, the AI detection, especially on co-op missions, is volatile and inconsistent at times. When people say "when the game works" is an indication of you having to play around the game's systems.
Yes, at launch, it was rough at times, but for me, this is the best AC game by a good bit. No other nails, but the looks/feel/sounds of a time. The way it all changed after the revolution is also amazing. Sadly, I don't think we will see it again; it was just too far ahead of its time, and the hardware was not ready. If they remaster this, even at full price, I would buy it.
Bro, what's your take on Elise's death, I think it was very unnecessary because Arno already lost so many important people from his life, I feel sad for him though.
Else's death was supposed to be pointless. The themes of Unity, as said by Arno, were obsession, devotion and fanatisicm. Each character in the story from Bellec, Robbispiere and eventually Elise commits themselves so fully to a cause to the point where they destroy themselves trying to further the goals and agendas of their organisations and creeds. We see Arno give up what little he has for Elise, only go lose her in the end because she's so desperate and clouded by her goals. That's why Elise died.
i so completely agree on your description. the "criticisms" i commonly see about Mirage is that it's either "a lazy Valhalla reskin", about the combat, or about Assassin Focus, and these come from so-called "OG fans." they need to grow up and realize not everything should be Unity reskinned for the game's period of time. Origins shouldn't, and Mirage shouldn't. the same applies for Unity; just because it lacks the freedom of movement from 1-Revelations, doesn't mean it should be a reskin of the OG ACs. it's called innovation and experimentation. this is exactly how Assassin's Creed as a franchise remains relevant even after all these years; it tries something new and adjusts to what's popular in the gaming industry, and as much as i hate to admit it, that's exactly how the RPG Creeds sold well. but Bordeaux did the one thing Montreal tried and Quebec should've tried, the one thing Origins tried to do and what the games after it should've done; combine the old and new, aka Mirage. and it's ironic how they're comparing Mirage to Unity, when the former did some things better; a non-dysfunctional and proper detection system, the freedom of movement in freerunning (although not as fluid as the OGs), and the tools for stealth (arguable). i could even argue that Mirage did combat better for actually making you feel the risk of fighting multiple enemies head-on. point is; Mirage, for its flaws, shouldn't be thought that it should've been Unity reskinned for Baghdad, and Unity, for its own flaws, shouldn't be thought of as a reskin of the older games. i wouldn't mind if Code Red reused the Mirage engine. let the acclaimed OG fans realize Mirage's potential the way true OG fans like you do.
I just loved how the whole game felt. I need to take a proper break and then install some mods to it so its more clean and replay it all over again. The movement felt so nice overall and the story and options for stealth too!
I haven’t really had the time to play AC Mirage but I am sure that game will be one of, if not my favorite AC game based on its setting, dynamics, *consistency*, and just solid stealth system in general with all the tools you ever need. Unity is a game a really love but I was never more disappointed in an AC game like I was in this one. The most inconsistent and unresponsive gameplay I have ever witnessed in this franchise where I can’t even count the vast majority of moments where I just know I did everything well but somehow… the parkour path flopped, some guard mysteriously saw/heard me even though I gave the game zero reasons for that, the list goes on. Of course, I had much more good moments with Unity than bad ones, but looking past its flaws and idolizing it as a stepping stone for an ideal AC entry is just too extreme.
@@AltairStealth shit thanks I was about to give it a shot and I was pissed I never realized that. Not sure if it was this video but shooting it while hangjng on a rope that's a mod too right
Not gonna lie, I remember AC Unity's Middle Ages prologue (and Rifts) being interesting like, why aren't there more Assassin's Creed games set in the Middle Ages? The first thing you think about when you think of a "templar" is a knight wearing red crusader armor, why do we only see that in AC1?
Hey man, isn’t it crazy how even though we got AC Mirage a few months ago, 90% of players still prefer Unity. Mirage just doesn’t feel the same as Unity. Unity was ahead of its time. I just wish Ubisoft could make their newer AC games with the same structure that Unity/syndicate had almost 10 years ago (if only they let all the studios work together 🤦🏽♂️). AC codename Red should be getting announced in a few months from now & I hope they don’t mess it up.
I would agree if I couldn’t see you fighting the games parkour constantly in the sense that say in the beginning of the video when you dive for the first time and swing a few jumps later I wonder how many times you practiced where standing on that white rope would force the swing, not too many but multiply that by almost every jump and welcome to unity parkour
How is the lockpicking part seemless? is there a mod like in Mirage for auto pickpocket? or you just edited the video so well? :) I love your Unity content, and for me Unity is still the best AC game to date. It fulfils the assassins fantasy to the fullest for me. Mirage is great, and a great homage , looking forward to see where ubisoft will lead the franchise, but for once we may see some steps taken to the right dircetion. Oh and your videos are so awesom, it always inspiring, and satisfiing to watch! Thanks for them!
Honestly, I agree, AC Unity isn’t perfect, but it has a charm that no other AC game in the series does. No matter how much time I spend playing Assassin’s Creed games, there’s one game I return to every single time when I don’t want to invest my full time and attention into the story or something: Unity. IMO no other AC game has resembled the Assassin fantasy as well as Unity has, and it’s a shame that Ubisoft saw the Unity criticism as “people are bored by Assassin’s” instead of “oh we had a bad launch but we can fix this.” If Ubisoft had did what CDPR did with Cyberpunk, today we’d be looking at a very different series of AC games than we got after Unity.
Anyone does have a problem with anti aliasing, I mean if I put FXAA or TXAA my game doesn’t load high res texture or it keeps flickering while if I use MSAA it does nothing of those things, anyone else with this problem? If yes did you find a solution?
love the video! what kind of graphics mods are you running to make it look that good? / or do you have any recommended tutorials to watch to get better performance with the game still looking this good?
Might be a bad take to some, but Unity could get the respect it really deserves if ubisoft actually showed it some love. Other AC games have seen remasters with bug-fixing tweaks. I don’t see why unity can’t get one as well. A remaster to allow 4k 60fps on current-gen consoles would do it a lot of good. A PC mod came out for it a few months ago that pretty much fixes the targeting problems that caused most of the movement and combat issues. Ubisoft could literally just incorporate that coding into a remaster and have a good game to sell for a $30-40 price point.
I really love this franchise. But yes, Ubisoft is too greedy, this franchise is released almost every year, that's what makes this franchise a lot of criticism. Its potential is wasted. So sad
I have a question, how did you make your profile picture? The one I have right now is one I just generated using an AI and then coloured the face black. What did you use to make yours? I just want a good profile picture.
I'm playing this exact masterpiece game on android iOS and it's the best assassin's creed game I've ever played, the idea of a temple assassin is very unique it's like Arno Dorian is taking out revenge for the tragedy of saint de molay. 🤣😂👍👍
@@AltairStealth Well that sucks, is there no way at all to fix that? im even playing in older patches just so i dont have to deal with it... It started in 1.3 for some reason
I'm personally not a fan of Unity's realism. The bleach white migraine inducing glare of daylight and the shallow gloom of night was such a departure from the surrealism of the Altair and Ezio games. Those cities were lit with dream like skies and deep cobalt nights rich with stars and crescent moons. I appreciate Valhalla and Mirage for bringing this back to Assassin's Creed. Unity has good graphics but sapped something special out of the franchise in favour of looking 'realistic'. It's not something I see get talked about much. Great video as always.
Dude you need to buy yourself a Quest 3 and try Blade and Sorcery and Assassin's Creed Nexus. You'd love using the hidden blades, someone made a mod recently for Blade and Sorcery that has rope arrows, noisemaking arrows and more too
Unpopular opinion: unities parkour was the same as ac3-rogue just more flashy. Ac1-rev still has the best parkour. It’s literally mortal kombat but combos for parkour.

lmaooo nah that was me bro. I'm trying to make a video playing with random people and capturing cool moments but to do that I have to be behind the other player to capture them on my screen, so instead of actually playing the mission I kinda just follow the player around. I was trying to coordinate stealth kills and cool moments but it doesn't work without voice so at the end I kinda just do nothing and watch the other person carry lmao. My bad g but you played great

This title is a complete lie, the combat in this game is terrible and arguably the worst in the franchise. The free running parkour is janky and somehow always manages to go to the one spot you don’t want. And the story is a complete joke about Arno being a simp when it should’ve been about him avenging his father
Unity didn't set an "impossible standard" at all. It's just trending right now. Ridiculous fan base sometimes, and that's from a guy who likes this channel.
@@AltairStealth ah I see now, fair point. I am tired of the fan base just repeating views that they've heard, instead of actually coming to their own opinions. @@AltairStealth sick thank you 🤘🏻
Might be a bad take to some, but Unity could get the respect it really deserves if ubisoft actually showed it some love. Ubisoft could literally just incorporate that coding into a remaster and have a good game to sell for a $30-40 price point.
bro just owns this series😉 amazing job man!
Glad you enjoy it!
what outfit is that? so cool, will be perfect for the Medieval mod... i hope it comes out soon
its a templar medieval mod
God that outfit is immaculate, if only the hood worked then It'd be perfect, great vid btw
Yeah I agree
Last kill was badass
slow walk away is compulsory
I really love this franchise. But yes, Ubisoft is too greedy, this franchise is released almost every year, that's what makes this franchise a lot of criticism. Its potential is wasted. So sad
The graphics is so very beautiful.
I have a question, how did you make your profile picture? The one I have right now is one I just generated using an AI and then coloured the face black. What did you use to make yours? I just want a good profile picture.
I forget the website but theres many online
How da frick did he do this??? 1:55
The MODS Make this the best AC of all time in terms of gameplay animations everything but storyline is top tier
I'd love to see more videos like this. AC Unity is the best.
Wait, how can you shoot when you assassinate? Doesn't work when I try
i have a special mod
@@AltairStealth the ACU fixes?
I'm playing this exact masterpiece game on android iOS and it's the best assassin's creed game I've ever played, the idea of a temple assassin is very unique it's like Arno Dorian is taking out revenge for the tragedy of saint de molay. 🤣😂👍👍
on android??
Yes
How are you playing on android
I see you use a greastsword, can you tell me how you fixed the broken perfect parry animations pls?
i didnt im afriad
I cant wait to get a pc
You will love it
AC Unity standards it set to heat is to actually release a finished game on launch, Unity couldn’t
Lmao
How do you know where people are already?
I practice
Dude you need to buy yourself a Quest 3 and try Blade and Sorcery and Assassin's Creed Nexus. You'd love using the hidden blades, someone made a mod recently for Blade and Sorcery that has rope arrows, noisemaking arrows and more too
i want to so badly
If only Unity succeeded..
If only :(
what is this templar outfit mod can you tell?
Unpopular opinion: unities parkour was the same as ac3-rogue just more flashy.
Ac1-rev still has the best parkour. It’s literally mortal kombat but combos for parkour.
unity is more similar to ac 3 yeah
@@AltairStealth I respect everyone’s opinion and if they like unity I’m happy for them. However imo the original system is much better there’s just so much more movement potential
Does this have any mods it looks different in gameplay and style
plenty of mods yeah
@@AltairStealth how can I download these mods if possible please
It is youtube for the guidlines right?(because it says youtubers names in it?),even if added/r.p.g. for the guidlines by youtube people=it doesnt stop hate speach.
It just says=post anyways/a.i. isnt real people yet/=it would be slaves if a.i. people any=corperations.
What mods u recommend me?
Check out my best mods video
idk if this was u r or not, i just played a session with a guy whos username is AltairStealth and i wasnt sure if it was him, he had a legenedary status yet i was carrying the entire session? basically doing everything, he was also wearing an altair outfit, i dont think it was u because u seem to be good at the game, mustve been an imposter
lmaooo nah that was me bro. My bad g but you played great
This game is very good in 2024
especially with acu fixes
Ik what you’re asking yourself, will red beat unity. But what u should really be asking is will red beat ac1
Thats an even higher standard
Am I only one who thinks this parkour looks kinda weirdly floaty? It's like he's almost flying through the air
It can ve veeery floaty
what is that outfit looks awesome
ac unity!
if only it actually worked man
One would wish
Agree.
I clicked the moment I have seen the notification 👌
A real one❤️
You've strected the video to eight minutes. Get the bag.
Impossible??? They've already done it. Not impossible, Copysoft are simply lazy.
probably now it is
PLEASE REPENT AND JOIN CHRISTIANITY AND BE RELEGIOUSE OR IF YOU DONT WANT TRY CHRISTIANITY FOR SOME TIME AND READ THE REAL BIBLE AND FINISH IT PLEASE THE ENDD DAYS ARE COMING!!!!!!
I applaud how much you manage to milk this game.
thank you very much
Unity is GOAT
gotta love unity
The youtube 1s that let nazis say hate speach on youtube keep saying the guidlines thing for the joke comment.
Whatc
Yeah and it's so impossible it can't even achive itself...
Sorry... I had to...
Yeah thats my point😂❤️
Wow😮
thanks!
stop it... ure gona make me reinstall the game...
dew it
This title is a complete lie, the combat in this game is terrible and arguably the worst in the franchise. The free running parkour is janky and somehow always manages to go to the one spot you don’t want. And the story is a complete joke about Arno being a simp when it should’ve been about him avenging his father
My brother in christ read the description
❤
Unity didn't set an "impossible standard" at all. It's just trending right now. Ridiculous fan base sometimes, and that's from a guy who likes this channel.
My boy read the description
@@AltairStealth ah I see now, fair point. I am tired of the fan base just repeating views that they've heard, instead of actually coming to their own opinions. Sure they'll say they do, but they don't. However in this instance, your description does shed light on your video title, even tho the title is somewhat confusing given the description.
Sycophantic suck up is what you are.
I-Ion like this game
only with fixes though, without it the game will only piss you off
True ac u fixes is clutch
