    This is cool to see. My grandfather is the one that invented this and started the company and since he passed away long ago I’ve been looking for stuff like this to learn about it

    That is slick. Saves time but more importantly it's going to save a lot of stress on that cow.

    I never understand why some farmers use the 1 time darts. I bought my Cap-Chu dart pistol many years ago as i dont be leave in steaaing them out to treat one or to cow, bull, calf, steer or heifer even to Vaccinate them all.
    You cant beat Cap-Chu they are the best and stand behind there products. I had 10, 10cc reusable darts that came in my pistol kit years ago. A few years ago these 10 darts started to fly a part when the charge in the dart went off to inject the med. And all the med spay every were. I called to order 10 new ones an a few plungers an there grease. Told her why i needed to order them. To my Surprise it was all shipped to me here in Canada at no charge. You got that right not a penny. I did a video about it on my channel. With starting this summer there going to be a ton of new things new construction that will go on for about 3 years. I started with diferent size cc reusable darts. Sure there around $25 each today but they last for ever. If i had to pay for one time use dart an you say there 5 bucks. I would have to use depending of the weight of said cow bull ext any were from 1 to 6 darts. You can only give max 10cc per injection point. Last i treated one of my 2500lb bull the 4 day lasting Antibiotic calls for 60cc for his weight. I use to use one you had to give the same amount every day for 7 days. Now i use one that is a 4 day treatment. Infact i have to use my pistol to day to treat a 1200lb cow that got a bad wolf bit on the back joint at her knee. She still nursing her all most 4 month old calf. I always have wolves an cyote problems. All most every winter. 2021 was the worst i seen in 40 years. It dont help having a big hydro transmision line an gas pipe line running side by side back of my farm. It a war on wolves an cyotes. And being here in Canada i cant pack a 9mm side arm any more. We farmers use to be able to. I have to pack a heavy loaded bulky long rifle around with everything i do. They banned full autos back in 1972 so i only get a few out of 70 to 100 or more each time. Now there trying to ban center fire semi autos witch will really hamper my ability to protect my livestock. It bad enought they baned every center fire mag over 5 rounds back in tthe 90's

      Thanks for the feedback. I’m a fan of the Cap Chur system. Hate to hear about all the restrictions in Canada. I’m happy with Texas in that regard.

    So does the initial impact of the dart do the pumping of the medicine if so I was curious how fast I can pump it as thick as that stuff looked but I know you said you were going to thin it out by heating it up

    • @HeritageFarmsTexas
      @HeritageFarmsTexas  4 роки тому +2

      Michigan Hay Sales - yes the initial impact of the dart puts pressure on the “charge” which goes off and forces the medicine in. It’s a pretty big needle and flows quickly. Sometime if you don’t get a good shot, or if you’re too close, it will bounce out before meds go in. Sometimes you’re too far away and miss as it drops. Will not shoot very far. Learning curve, but well worth it in certain situations. Hope that helps.

    I too have a cow that I need to dart, except this cow lives in my house, and I mainly want to use it on her at Walmart when she keeps stopping to talk to everyone she knows for 30 minutes before I have to say "come on honey, we gotta git goin!".

      Thanks for watching. Not sure this is the right tool for your situation. Perhaps a hot shot might be better suited.

    Well that was neater than taters. I should have gotten one of those darts guns for a few of my outraged clients LOL just kidding! That was fun to see take place and yeh.. you are right.. it was quick!

    • @HeritageFarmsTexas
      @HeritageFarmsTexas  4 роки тому

      The Drifter - makes it easier for sure. What is frustrating is when the gun is low on CO2 and the dart goes 5 ft and drops or too much CO2 and too close to cow and it bounces out. I’ve had situations where it’s taken 3-4 darts to get one in. That gets expensive. There is a learning curve. It looked simple in the video, but it took a while to figure out the sweet spot. Thanks for watching.

    I was told you even warmed up LA 200 and other less expensive antibiotics would still be too thick for the charge to inject the meds. Compared to Draxxon or zuprevo the meds you are using are almost free. $500 for a small bottle is ridiculous.

    • @HeritageFarmsTexas
      @HeritageFarmsTexas  2 роки тому

      Hello Arnold, for the most part LA300 has worked for us. We do put it on the dash of the truck to warm it up or hold it in front of heater vents prior to loading and injecting. We normally have no issues in the summer.
