Hey everyone! Hope you’re enjoying the analysis!
I have a question for anyone who watches “The View.” Do Whoopi and Sunny butt heads a lot? Do they often disagree?
Based on this clip and only this clip I have a feeling Whoopi isn’t the biggest Sunny fan. When others said they should have listened to her, Whoopi smiles in a “humble brag” way but when Sunny says it and it cuts to Whoopi (at 35:55 in this video), Whoopi looks more annoyed than anything else.
Now it could be because this is the 3rd or 4th time someone said they should have listened to her, it could be because Sunny’s tone is more serious and less of a joke like Ana’s when she said she should have listened. It could be a number of things but I have a feeling Whoopi gets irritated by Sunny.
Is that something we’ve seen elsewhere?
You may appreciate a "Nate the Lawyer" video on Sunny and Coleman Hughes. That gives you a pretty good idea of Sunny's MO. And logic.
Well Sunny gets on my nerves so I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets on Whoopi’s. 😂

Whoopi and Sunny do not but heads that much they both compete on who can say the most. Whoopi has of late been disciplining her to get her to stop talking by interrupting her. She usually does this because Sunny is being hard on a guest or will not give one of the others a chance to talk. Sunny used to give Alyssa a very hard time. She disagreed with everything Alyssa had to say , mocked her and treated her horribly. Sunny was definitely talked to because she doesn’t do it nearly as much. Sunny doesn’t like anyone who is smarter than her or anyone that is getting any kind of attention. Sunny is often wrong and Alyssa very seldom is wrong. Sunny just doesn’t like that.
In Sunny’s mind she is never wrong and she never sincerely apologizes. It’s not that Whoopi was right in Sunny’s mind it’s that she Sunny wasn’t wrong. Those apologies today must have killed Sunny because she did not want to apologize.
She literally said she was going for major surgery and wouldn’t be around. Why this was “fun” to people is beyond me
Here here! The only thing the Palace did 'wrong' was trust us to give them grace, space and privacy! Regardless of everything else, this is a family that's going through hell! Sheesh we should have given her time just to be there for The King regardless of anything else! She's never asked us for a thing, has dedicated her whole life to causes that aren't her own, she should have been able to trust us not to go nutty! And with the photo, anyone who even knows a tiny bit about her knows she enjoys photography & should know enough about her to know it was a gesture on Mother's day meant to be a nice thing!

The “fun” of where’s Kate?! Oh yeah it was fun, jokey and hilarious NOT! Regardless of whether Princess Catherine was diagnosed with cancer after her abdominal surgery, the whole “where’s Kate” was horrible and bullying, and to apologise ONLY when it was revealed she now has a cancer diagnosis just shows how shallow and self serving they are

No, Catherine has yet to be seen. The MD photo and the cancer video have been proven to be AI by professional videographers and editors, as well as two AI software analysis programs. She is still missing, as are the three children. The children didn't return to school after holiday break, even though the alleged surgery happened two weeks after school resumed.
These women were forced to apologize because none have intellect or courage to call out the palace in their lies.

The Palace didn't mishandle the news, the commentators mishandled it! The Palace said Catherine would be out until after Easter and she had major surgery and doesn't want to talk about it at this time. Everyone should respect that and talk about something else but they just couldn't let it go.
It was the damn photoshopped photo. THAT is what triggered everything. Up till that point it was same old same old. The mishandling of it afterwards and Especially the Lies fed the conspiracy flames. It had me worried too. It wasn't just oh surgery recovery ok that's all right. No worries. Then putting out a photograph.... Doctored, no wedding ring..... I'm sorry but that was like waving a bloody steak for a pack of rabid dogs and had everyone wondering wth is really going on if she was unable to take a photo with her kids herself. Ya surgery, we can understand. But to release a mother's Day photo that.... Well.... The ones that care will show concern and be worried and speculate,. The ones that don't will take that and have fun with crazy theories. You cant paint them all with the same brush. Bottom line to me is that photo was a raw steak in a world of hungry dogs. That was the tip of the iceberg of where the palace went wrong. They compounded it by lying.... That just made those mad dogs more bloodthirsty for the truth. And the rest of us even more worried.

@@debshipman4697Compassion would be when a person announces a leave of absence from work due to major surgery and doesn't expect to be back for twelve weeks, you don't mock and make a big joke out of it and demand to know where they are and "proof of life" during that 12 weeks. We have people take leave for surgery from time to time at my work- even the EVPs. Sometimes they take family leave and we don't even know if they or their family member has an issue. No one thinks "they'd better tell us what's wrong and keep us updated as it's a lesson in compassion and we deserve to know." I think anyone who did that would be considered a pariah.
People's desire to know more was purely being nosy and gossipy. There were zero valid motives behind it.
It irritates me that they/everyone keeps saying how the Palace handled it bad! The only thing they did wrong was trust us to give them the space & privacy they needed during a difficult time! They put a post saying she'd be taking a break till after April, she talked to us about what was going on before Easter! Catherine, The Princess of Wales has been dedicated to public service for many many years, her asking for time whilst she dealt with a medical issue should have been respected! It's not like she does it all the time or even ever before, besides whilst she was pregnant and even then, whilst incredibly ill, she still made an effort to be there for the public and her causes. She's never asked us for anything before and when she did, and trusted us to understand, half the world went crazy!!!

I thought I was alone when I thought it was cruel and weird for people to think of the situation like it was a joke. Like, y’all think it’s silly and funny if she were to be dead or missing? I was so weirded out by people making the situation a joke. Kate literally got treated like she was less than human. She was a meme, all because she was having serious medical problems. And no, it’s not the same thing as people making fun of Meghan. When people make fun of Meghan, it’s because they think she says cringe things. And does cringe things. I agree, it was extremely disrespectful and downright disgusting. I feel so bad for the royal family to have to listen to and not be able to respond to all the hateful comments. “Recollections May vary” was about the strongest response to accusations.
The whole affair changed my opinion of a lot of people. The correct information was available to anyone who wanted to hear it. Just a little patience and self control is all that was required.
I hope this situation has taught these women to be more careful when they open their mouth to express their thoughts. Think about the person you are going to talk about. Have empathy so that you will think twice before you say something, especially when you are not sure about it.

What you're allowed to talk about (free speech) and what a morally and compassionate person chooses to talk about can be 2 different things. They are back tracking because of the 'cancer' announcement. OK. My issue (having family experience serious surgery) is that it was lacking compassion regardless of cancer. Where was she? Where she said she was going to be. Recovering until Easter. Our sense of entitlement (or fun at others' expense) is disturbing.

And the photo was obviously meant as a nice gesture! Everyone who even knows a little about Catherine, Princess of Wales, knows she enjoys photography, she has three kids, of course she had to photoshop a little...lol. Everyone took a nice Mother's day gesture & weaponized it! Also, they usually release it to social media where a little photoshopping is fine (she didn't touch anything important!). They are dealing with stuff they've never dealt with before, I totally agree that the least we should have extended to her is grace & privacy! Catherine altered the photo, and she released it on mothering sunday just as she releases a photo every year for that day.Last years photo wasn't even taken in the weeks before the day. It was taken the previous Autumn. The furore over the photo was stupidly hyped.

Has anyone ever thought that the Palace followed Princess Catherine’s wishes? She wanted it kept private. She deserves some privacy especially because she is concerned about her 3 young children. PC is a very strong & protective person. She deserves privacy - it would be so horrible to have this news all over the news & talked about where her kids go to school. I would never want my kids exposed to that!!!

I know they make sure their children go to school & I love how PW & PC do school drop offs etc. They are normal parents which is why I am so happy & thankful for them. My point is that I would not be surprised if they wanted her diagnosis kept private so THEY could tell their children & deal with this in private. I am well aware they go to school like all other children & the children will hear talk of it. I know PW & PC are wonderful parents.

That was my first thought. And not only Catherine... William knows how destructive it can be for a child to face their classmates and public speculation when there are issues with parents. He would want to protect his children from the public invasion he experienced in his childhood.
The monarchy has never really fought for privacy. If that's the case now, good for them. They need to set boundaries. With that said, don't condemn previous members of the family for asking for something similar. You can hate their decisions and actions, but respect the right to privacy. This is why some people question this particular situation.
The Palace issued a statement saying Princess Catherine would not take on public duties until after Easter. The public heard the memo loud and clear, the media however did their usual stirring.

someone here said it best. she said the women were "grifting" the Princess's absence. We can see that some of the women of the View remain in their middle school, mean girl pose not caring that somewhere was a woman who didn't know if she would live lone enough to raise her 3 little children. I just can't understand how all of the "Where's Kate" nonsense began. It was announced that she was undergoing abdominal surgery prior to her operation and not to expect her to be back in the public eye before Easter. Obviously, this was before her cancer diagnosis. Wherever it started, it wasn't a joke and this type of assumption needs to cease. The Princess of Wales is a public figure, not public property. When the photograph was issued, nowhere did it say that this was taken recently. How many people put up an old image of themselves on Mother's Day? I did.
It seems there was a concerted effort by a particular group to get this to trend. They were quite proud of themselves.

The situation was made worse than what it should have been by the foolishness of main media outlets weighing into the nonsensical conspiracy theories about her absence, and the awful things said about her marriage to Prince William. Conspiracy theories are BIG over here. And there are some doozies. It's like people thrive on gossip and paranoia. I think it makes them feel like part of a group and that they are so insightful. At least that's my take. Not that I haven't fallen into the trap at times. But most of the stuff I think is wack-a-doodle.

I agree. Sarah did not want to accept any responsibility or accountability. She was the one yelling out "Where's Kate? Where's Kate?" in the show in question. Sunny was definitely the one who did not want to participate in an apology. She was sitting tall in defiance from the beginning.
As a Brit, I don’t understand what business Princess Catherine’s photo is of the View anyway? She is our Princess and the family photo was put out to wish us a Happy Mother’s Day, like a greeting card. It wasn’t an official photo as such and shouldn’t have been pulled. But the publication that pulled it first, was a Sussex camp, little known paper.
How can people keep saying "I didn't know she was dealing with something serious" it's bullshit! They told everyone she's having a big operation and needed a few months off, that in itself imsays everything you need to know it's not going ro be minor if a royal needs to take time off
When I read about POW having abdominal surgery and would be on medical leave until Easter I thought she may have had a hysterectomy and needed the time to get through the hormonal shifts. Personally, it was awful and I can't imagine being in the public eye and having hot flashes all the time.

Your impression of her is right. She’s never wrong and an expert on everything because she’s a former prosecutor. She will tell you about her former job every show. I don’t watch the View any more since Barbara left, but catch snippets of it now and then. They are just all left adrift in a giant ocean they are not prepared for.

Everyone knew that Catherine the princess of Wales was going in for a major abdominal surgery and wanted privacy in regards to her recovery. The whole thing where everyone thought it would be “fun” to come up with these disgusting theories is beyond my comprehension. From what I understand, her medical records were breached which forced her hand in revealing her diagnosis possibly before she was even ready. I can’t think of another word besides disgusting. She was bullied and I feel horrible for her. Wishing her and her young family well.
The medical records were not breached. Someone tried to, but did not succeed. Or they were stopped before the records could be compromised. The official line, and there's no reason to doubt it, is that William and Catherine planned soon after her cancer diagnosis to inform the public on exactly the day they did, because their children would be out of school for Easter break on that afternoon, and the whole family could retreat for a private vacation, where the aftermath of the devastating news could be dealt with in a safe a controlled environment. It makes total sense to me, fits all the facts as we know them, and... could you blame them for wanting to keep their children out of that feeding frenzy, especially once cancer was on the table? There is no indication that Catherine's hand was forced. She intended to inform the public, just as King Charles had, but she had to manage it in the best way for her young family. And William knows first hand the trauma to a child coping with parents in crisis when the media gets involved. I have so much respect for both of them, trying to behave with dignity in this very common world.

I thought Alyssa seemed to be playing to the crowd too. In PR damage control mode. Conflicted is a good word for Sara. She looked ashamed to me at first, but her apology was weird. But then when he showed what she had said it made more sense. She didn’t say anything bad towards Princess Catherine, and more so seemed concerned about what was really happening. So being conflicted would make sense. Feeling bad about the outcome, but not bad that she questioned what was going on…? Anyways, I didn’t understand this whole frenzy. The poor woman has surgery and the fact she was still out made me instantly think she may be really ill. I hope she recovers.
What I cannot understand is the palace informed the public in late December that Princess Catherine was going for abdominal surgery and would be back around Easter yet, even way before Easter, people were playing “Where’s Kate?” Why? It wasn’t like Easter passed and she still hadn’t returned to public duty with no updates. She wasn’t due back yet!

It is a very sad situation when these grown women take part in making fun of another woman’s misfortune! Especially when it was well known that Princess Katherine had been ill & hospitalized for a surgery. I am glad that Alyssa & Anna took ownership of their sick humor & indifference to the another person’s sad misfortune. Though the public did not know the full disclosure of Princess Katherine’s illness, they should have been more sensitive & more conscious of what comes out of their mouths, bc they are “viewed”by many. Sunny is a sad individual! Her lack of empathy with this situation makes me not care for her, nor respect her VIEWS!!! Yeah, the rabbit whole can be a real death trap, but thankfully there are still people who think for themselves (or do a double take after first going with it). I didn't think she was sick, but did think she must have had some trouble recovering, seeing we didn't hear anything, not even a tweet. I didn't care for the photo being photoshopped, that's basically the norm these days. And my first reaction to her having cancer, was literally exclaiming "both of them?!?" But my general take, even for royal families and families of famous people, is to give people privacy when they want it. Heck, when I am at work and don't feel 100%, I don't feel like chitchatting with my coworkers. And they understand, because they are the same.

I really didn’t understand that furore over the photo, none of the central elements, the mother with her 3 children was altered. Who cares about a bit of sleeve, a hem and a zip?? Everyone tidies up those small elements in photoshop!! Most celebrity photos are tidied up.
First 5 seconds: Sunny jumps off screen as being contemptuous and defiant -- definitely not sorry. Yellow dress looks angry or defiant-not sorry. Brown shirt (middle) looks down, brows up, relaxed face-I’d guess she’s truly sorry. Black dress looks are neutral, can’t really tell, but based on her immediate reaction is she truly regrets her choice of making fun of Princess Catherine.

Well… they *are* famous public people… even if they aren’t “celebrities”. One could argue that heads of state are *more* relevant than, say, actors. If an actor is a terrible person, we just don’t watch their movie. If a head of state is a terrible person, we have genocide, war, famine, etc. Like it or not, the world is and is justified to be interested in the health of a ruling royal family.

The Palace handled the news the same way any workplace would have handled notifying that a employee being absent for an extended time. 1 It's not their place to give more information than what they are told. 2 They may have not been given all the details.
I didn't tell my company why I was out for 3 months, except that it was for an emergency surgey. I shared why later when I had come to terms with my cancer diagnosis.
The Palace treated Fergie badly when she was caught out in an extra marital toe-sucking incident???? How? Fergie never complained, so why do these women? In fact the Queen remained mutually friendly with Sarah, the Duchess of York after her divorce, and continued to keep in touch with her on a weekly basis whenever possible. Diana was the daughter of an hereditary Earl and therefore also a member of the nobility. Both women and QE were also mutually respectful. Diana, like many divorcees, fell out with her husband and she had more adulterous affairs. However,unlike others, Sarah and Diana were both likeable and loyal to the crown.
The cancer diagnosis was a surprise to Catherine and possibly her doctors. When she initially went to the hospital she thought she would be back after Easter. Now that date is going to be up in the air.
A true apology does not include criticism of any parties in any way…ie. The press, the palace, her family, whoever. I didn’t hear one true apology from anyone.
What difference does it make how the palace handled this situation. There are still many pieces of information we do not know and have no right to know. Her surgery went well as she said and that she is getting well. But the results of the surgery could still be a life changing event.
There are still people out there that think Catherine, Princess of Wales is not with us any more! What has happened to us as people that we cannot control our mouths. People just have no filter any more. It saddens me.

You are correct. That first 5 seconds gave me everything I needed to know (I didn't write it down but immediately knew each if the panel's positions), & for me, demonstrates how much I use my intuition & body language of others, to read a situation.
I also think this brings up another issue... society tells us to "be kind." As a whole we only seem to take this approach with our friends, family & groups (political, social, cultural, etc) we are associated with & not with others outside of these settings; when perhaps that is the time it is most needed.
It's easy to be kind with those you like/agree with but it's not so easy to deploy this simple skill with those you dislike/do not agree with, when I would argue that that is when it's most needed.
