Brit here; a live music lover and player. I might just prefer this recording to the original. Sweet vocals and great instrumentation. This young lady is a star. Well done. Loved it.
I had never heard of her until a couple months ago. This does not make me feel sad as if i have missed something… its the opposite …. Telling us there is always something to find to bring us joy throughout our lives.
The best things take time. Alison Krauss didn't get famous right away either. Sierra is a bluegrass prodigy. She's goin' places and will win many music awards in the process. Wait and see.....
Seth Lakeman brought tenor guitar back into the front line of folk music. Sierra will undoubtedly do the same for mandolin ... especially as she plays several sizes of the instrument. Her new recordings are achingly beautiful.
By far the best cover of this, actually any Adele song, that I've heard. Others make the mistake of trying to copy Adele's vocals, which isn't possible, but you made it your own. The entire thing is so tight, almost restrained, and it works magnificently.
Another really great cover of a song by Adele is I'm with Her's version of "Send my love to your new lover" Watch the version on UA-cam with Paul Kowert playing bass. Wonderful harmonies.
I knew there was a lot of hype about the song but never got it until I heard it with country influence. Sierra is quite a good singer and you just don't see too many people playing the mandolin anymore so kudos to her for keeping that instrumental alive. Fell in love with it through Roy Clark's.
Sierra knows how to use her accent to her advantage just like Adele. Sierra has been a favorite of mine for a while, and she is helping Bluegrass music move forward while simultaneously keeping it the same. That's a hard thing to accomplish. Obviously, she is an important and special young talent.
It's an epic emotional piece of music, Sierra has created. Anytime I listen to this, my heart becomes heavy and I get tears in my eyes. THANK YOU SIERRA
@@georgehays4900 Sierra Hull created this beautiful version of a good song. God... with your attitude every single famous Classical musician or Opera singer would be just a cover.
Incredible bunch of musicians.....gives ya goose bumps and leaves your heart heavy and your eyes all watery....just like a song should! Thanks so much!
I have been listening to Sierra Hull for around 6 months or so. I subscribed recently. I have followed Country music for 40+ years and have heard a lot of greats in concert. I would like to hear Sierra Hull sometime. She is quickly becoming my favorite female voice, and I have seen Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Ann Murry, Shelly West Emmylou Harris and a few others live. You are there Sierra! I'm a true fan!
Laron, also check out Sarah Jarosz and her new band 'I'm with her', which includes Sarah Watkins and Aoife O'Donovan, all three stars in their own right. I think you will enjoy them.
I have been listening to Sarah Jarosz for a couple of years. Sierra is prettier but Sarah is more talented and her lyric writing skills are far better at least in the present time.
I like Sierra very much, but I really love Sarah Jarosz. Sure, Sierra is a pretty girl, but I've known a hundred girls like her. I can tell you, Sarah Jarosz is a singularly beautiful young woman, and she has mad skills at everything...songwriting, singing, performance, personality, and multi-instrumentalism. She's not just great at everything she does, she looks awesome doing it all. I feel fortunate to have met her twice, and to have had great conversations with her. If you want to see another incredibly beautiful young talent, check out Noah Wall of The Barefoot Movement. :)
I like both of them; check out SIerra's newer stuff on the Weighted Mind album; she has really pushed her musical boundaries way beyond traditional bluegrass or even ballads like this. I think Sierra is a much better musician than Sarah, but both are very talented. It will be interesting to see which album wins at the Grammy's next week; both Sarah and SIerra are nominees in the Folk Album of the Year category
Wow, this one hits home with me. Bittersweet, but beautiful. I just discovered Sierra less than a week ago (when checking out the bluegrass channel on Sirius Radio) and I am completely enchanted by her. What a talent. I’ve aleady bought 3 of her albums.
I really like the open feel of this song. The arrangement is beautiful and allows the spacing to let your vocal reach out from the mix and pull the listener in. Great job!
This is really, really outstanding!! ..... It blew my mind just now when I happened across it on YT. My name is Larry, and I am from Dallas but live in Arlington, TX. - I've been a musician myself most of my 56 years of being alive. And, I have been an Adele fan every since I the first time I heard that song. And this is the first time I have EVER heard a song like that, and one as good and original as that one - done in a different style of music ... and DONE REALLY WELL .... striking just the right balance - in order to pull off - making it work this way. In the past year or so on UA-cam, I have been randomly checking out some of the new Bluegrass groups - which I am SO glad to see younger generations appreciating it, and wanting to be a part of it enough to want to play and to perform it > kind of giving it a re-birth. But so far, (although some are really good) I have not seen any of them attempt to go beyond performing anything more than music from the more traditional song catalogs from times gone by (which seems a bit limiting for them - to me). So I really appreciate y'all being brave enough and and having such good intuition about trying "and succeeding" in interpreting so well, a very well known song by such a superstar musician and songwriter - as Adele is. Thank you SO MUCH!! And please keep up the good work. www.larrycrenshaw.com, facebook.com/larry.crenshaw1
First time I've seen this covered. Very brave, her singing is of course underrated, as against her stupendous mandolin playing, but it's a good cover. Seen her live a few times, Merlefest & Grey Fox. Major talent and more importantly, a credit to the human race for her humility and all round decency.
I love Sierra Hull-shes a bright light in a town of moving more to pop music. I hope the glare of money and the bright lights doesn't move her away from her roots. That's what make her beautiful and will sustain her for the long run.......
Sorry to say this but I never heard of Sierra Hull before. I just want to say thank you. I am now your biggest fan here on Long Island. You have the greatest voice and your band is great. I hope to catch live at some shows
I am glad a friend sent this to me! Very lovely job, and good for her for making the song her own. I had not heard of her before. I will be looking up more songs.
I never really enjoyed listening to Adele. Just could not appreciate her voice, but now with Sierra singing, I can totally immerse myself in these artful lyrics surrounded by a great country/bluegrass band. Great thanks!
This is my favorite cover recording by Sierra Hull of "Someone Like You" that was originally written and performed by Adele. I always felt it was a very sensitive and emotional performance.
I was pleased to see her live in Clearwater, FL a coupla weeks ago. Was traveling light with only a bassist. But her artistry and beauty are undeniable. Too bad she is not more widely appreciated.
I like this even 1,000,000 times more than the original, which is also good, but this is GREAT! Your interpretation draws in the listener, and it seems more personal, as if coming from a more introspective voice. Nicely done.
If you view this particular video on a Samsung GS2, the contrast of the AMOLED is so rich that this video really pops - so much so that it appears almost 3-D! Lovely performance from Sierra and the band - play this through a pair of Multi-Balanced-Armature custom IEMs and it's bliss....
I love your music variations and voice....in fact I just love you period. you are such a talent ...I know that you used to perform in Estes Park and thus far I have never made it over there if you still perform there. I live in Fort Collins, so it is only maybe 45 min to an hour to EP....I will try to see you if you ever again perform in this region.
Listened to this, and a live version of Mad World; and you've won me over. Lovely.
Mad world at DelFest was and is amazing. I keep watching over and over. What a great group of players.
@@Dancing_Alone_wRentals Same here. Heard it for the first time two weeks ago and was blown away.

I found her music last month (ordered her music on Amazon digital) found her through Ron Bock who's in this vidoe.😊
Why the hell does it take 12 years to discover this amazing bunch of talented musicians? 💚
Please you do not know anything about talent this is average at best
Hmm, you're entitled to your opinion....which looks like it's in the minority! Have a lovely day.😊
She's absolutely a gift to all of us.
Why is this girl not majorly famous!? She's fabulous! Instruments...voice...she's the full package. Gary of the Mojave
The best things take time. Alison Krauss didn't get famous right away either. Sierra is a bluegrass prodigy. She's goin' places and will win many music awards in the process. Wait and see.....
Unfortunately, too many people don't even know what this instrument is anymore. They listen to absolute crap that doesn't even resemble music.
Seth Lakeman brought tenor guitar back into the front line of folk music. Sierra will undoubtedly do the same for mandolin ... especially as she plays several sizes of the instrument. Her new recordings are achingly beautiful.
She's not famous yes because the music industry is controlled by corporate scumbags. But her talent will overcome the corporatacracy.
Short answer is because she won't sell out!
By far the best cover of this, actually any Adele song, that I've heard. Others make the mistake of trying to copy Adele's vocals, which isn't possible, but you made it your own. The entire thing is so tight, almost restrained, and it works magnificently.
Just like Faith Hill's TAKE A PIECE OF MY HEART. It took me until the 2nd chorus to realize it was a cover, the 1st time I listened to it.
Lol

up to this point I loved the "walk off the earth " version best, but I like this one even better. Such a great talent.
It's an epic emotional piece of music, Sierra has created.
Anytime I listen to this, my heart becomes heavy and I get tears in my eyes.
THANK YOU SIERRA
It’s a cover. It’s not an original that she has created.
