Jon Kitna was a warrior for this team all season. Underrated guy from a small small that nobody ever thought would make it to nfl..i remember they would say his hands were too small and he even had to use a unique grip on the ball.
This game brings up old pain that I buried deep down. After Mazlowski went out with his knee injury, that was the end of this defense. It was already suspect, but that killed it completely. Then we watched Indy come into Arrowhead in the playoffs, as I was in section 320, and they didn’t punt once. Not ONE DAMN TIME. Heartbreaking end for an offense that deserved a ring.
As a lifelong Bengals fan that has attended the majority of their home games since 2000 this is definitely a top 5 for me. I was 16 at the time and this was the first time the team actually felt somewhat relevant. The most unique part of this game was that they must have screwed up with the pyrotechnics because the smoke hung in the stands at the stadium so bad I could barely see the kickoff and some of the first series. I spent the game wondering when we would blow it, as any fan of a truly cursed franchise does. Walking out of that game with a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe things were going to change was exciting. It was a fun precursor to a tragic 2005 and the rest of the mediocre Marvin years.
@@erics2739 I didn’t say anything about the best player on defense getting hurt, it was the most important piece going down. Our depth at MLB was dog shit after Maz, so when he went down, we fell the fuck apart. That’s just the facts.
I'm not a Kansas City Chiefs nor Cincinnati Bengals fan but, this was indeed a damn good football 🏈 game! My little brother is a diehard Chiefs fan and I do remember telling him that Cincinnati was going to put it out.
He was hurt only had 6 totes for 21, Rudi Johnson was killin us. 22 totes for like 165 or some insane amount. But Dillon was a monster, he made those Pats teams tick becuz he was pounding defenses into submission. Great player.
Holmes did have the greatest 3 year stretch ever. Then back injuries ended that. Would have been the greatest 4 year stretch as that 4th year he was on track for 1800 yards rushing and like 30 rushing tds before getting hurt. Corey was great but not one of the best.
Such a great chiefs team. Not like now, but amazing in their own right Edit: Back again after KC winning another Super Bowl. Back to back from last year. It’s important to come back to this video for me because this was the first time I experienced true heart break as a chiefs fan. Radicalized the rivalry I feel between KC and Cincinnati. Cincy has still not won a single Super Bowl yet but with Joe Burrow that might change. Still he will have to get through Mahomes and the Chiefs along the way
He had one good year and 3 great years, but they wore him down with 360+ touches those 3 years, and he was done. Back in the days of the workhorse running back.
Wow the Chiefs were undefeated until they played Cincinnati. They're currently on a 9 game win streak but Cincinnati might have something to say about that. Cincinnati will need to fight as hard as they did in 2003 when they were undefeated win or loss. We win on Sunday, we win the AFC North.
Crazy seeing the bengals under center.... I love the bengals and love burrow.. love zach. Extremely grateful we good... but can we run the fucking ball from under center please..... PLEASE
Kevin Harlan has always been my one of my favorite broadcasters in the business
Who pays attention to those slobs?
Harlan is so good he can call two games at once
@@fitlifestylebiggainz I do. Love Kevin Harlan. Gus Johnson is a close second
@@natecavender897 🤣 🤣 it is corny people in this world so I understand. Enjoy.
I think he’s the best actually.
Peter Warrick was a highlight machine.

Big upsets in back to back weeks with the Jags taking down 7-1 Indy and the next week with the Bengals taking down the unbeaten Chiefs.
Peter Warrick would have been a great receiver and all-time returner were it not for his injuries
former fsu great.... Seems forever ago....

Mazlowski looked like a serial killer in his prime perfect lineback you want out there its a shane what happened to him
vonnie holliday was their best defender...

That looked like a fantastic game, hopefully today's game is just as good.
It was even better
The NFL has changed so much even since this time period with rule changes

The Bengals should use that leaping tiger logo again
Man do I miss the leaping tiger logo in the middle of the field.

Dial it back there buddy.
I don’t remember the Bengals having this grass field.
I wish they stuck with grass. They could of went to an a more durable grass instead of rolling in the fake grass carpet.
Back when Paul Brown Stadium was grass, vaguely remember those days
Could we see a repeat of this on Sunday?
UPDATE: We absolutely did!
Who dey
Bengals always seem to have good offenses.
