Nice to see you doing a commission! I wish you all the success in the world brother. You're a fantastic builder and I've learned so much from watching you! Enjoy the ride! ✌️ & 💕
I scalloped 3 necks in my time myself including my super rare Ibanez JEM BSB from the 12th to 24th fret some people would say I’m mad but how deep your scallops were looked a bit bonkers to me a light scallop is just the same the more wood you take away you get that brrrr sensation sliding up the string when you hit them super deep scallops but your work is sensational mate good job
Wow Daniel. The Laguna equipment looks like it's working out great for you and saving you some time. Awesome build as always. Congratulations on all the shop improvements.
I'm working on a jazz bass for my dad... I'm not a luthier but a hobbyist ...i noticed your neck stock was really thick...is thos because its a lamination? Or just personal preference...the neck blank i got is only .75" ...didn't know if I'm missing something...besides..not putting the finger board on.. lol great video sir!
Super nice work Daniel! You have a huge amount of patience cutting inlay. Especially with such a long name and the big swooping part. Absolutely beautiful. I like to do my fret pressing before carving the neck so I have a solid flat block in the press. I find neck rests very fiddly. Any video you make I watch. More talking, less talking I don't care. watching you build guitars is great.
Great to see you building again. I thought you would use that awesome new drum sander to level off the blank? I found it does a great job with body, neck, and fretboard blanks for that.
Hi R.L. Lynch. Thank you. I hadn't stopped building, just altered my upload schedule a bit. I used the sander to thickness the neck blank (not in the video though) but I needed 1 reference surface of the blank to be true, level, straight and square to the center line. Unfortunately without a planer I still need to do that by hand, but the sander makes the rest much easier.
when will you finally buy a mass produced version of your logo plate? 😉 i wonder how many hours you've spent working on these... great job on every level, as always!!!
Dear Daniel, nice new format ! It's more dynamic. But videos with more detailed explanations are very instructive too. So, if you can keep a mix between both formats, it would be great. Anyway, your guitars are awesome and keep going !
Only because you asked and keep in mind that my opinion should matter very little to you. I like the format of the video. I could do without the background music or maybe just a lot quieter. I'd prefer to hear the machine and hand tool sounds. Again, my opinion is just that. I'm going to watch regardless.
Hi Michael, Thank you for your feedback. UA-cam for some reason seems to somehow 'boost' music volume and although I keep this in mind while editing, sometimes it still is to loud after uploading. Luckily there is a volume control in the UA-cam player but unfortunately this means other sounds might get lost. I'll keep your feedback in mind.
Always nice to see your build, such a great work! I have a question, maybe I've missed, but what can you say about wooden inlays, for example ebony fingerboard with rosewood inlays, or dark ebony fingerboard with light ebony enlays? Will the differ between wood material have consequences with a look of fingerboard in the future?
This is a great video, that neck seem to be awesome, i am planning my next build right now, if i may ask, what company do you buy the wood from ? i live within the EU..
Hi HearGear, Thank you! I get my timber from a Dutch Supplier called "Massive Fijnhouthandel" in Zwolle. Unfortunately they don't have a webshop. They do sometimes ship internationally, but you have to give them a call.
Hi XGCPolaris, Thank you. The Jumbo frets and scallop might be a bit overkill, but it doesn't hurt the guitar design or playability. Sometimes a feature like a scallop can help with the mindset of a player to help them play better / more confident wether it's 100% useful or not.
Agreed, it would be crime to cover up that beautiful ebony with big fret dots. Looking good.
Nice to see you doing a commission! I wish you all the success in the world brother. You're a fantastic builder and I've learned so much from watching you! Enjoy the ride! ✌️ & 💕
Talking or not talking... It's still a pleasure to watch you building guitars.
Thank you for sharing this! I use to rebuild pianos and refinish them. That's nothing compared to this. Fantastic
Those frets are something else - they really pop and shine against the dark fingerboard. He's going to be a lucky customer Daniel!
Hi Owen,
Thank you.
The frets turned out very nice indeed, and I know for a fact my client is very happy with his new guitar.
The inlay work you did with your logo was great. The whole neck looks wonderful.
Hi Brandon,
Thank you very much for the compliments.
Terrific video. That scalloping after all that fretwork made me nervous 😂

awesome work man, you probably make some of the best custom guitars in the world, everything is so clean and well done
I love that neck, especially the fretboard!!! BEAutifal!!!
Hi Jamie,
Thank you very much! The fretboard is gorgeous indeed.
Wow Daniel. The Laguna equipment looks like it's working out great for you and saving you some time. Awesome build as always. Congratulations on all the shop improvements.
The new format looks good to me. You're a master of cutting those inlays. Especially with a long name! Looking forward to seeing this build progress.

Absolutely beautiful work man! Hopefully some day I can step my game up and get some efficient and less primitive tools and hone my skills like you!

Good to know people are also enjoying this format.

You do amazing work I love your work and your inlay of your brand is just amazing if I may say so

Excellent. Great format.
what was the difference with the SS frets? if any? hope your feeling a bit better BTW
Thank you for this detailed videos! Thats pleasure for eyes and soul)
nice work! do you think stainless frets are worth it? or is it too much work?

Great Work.
Hi Oliver,
Thank you!
Great video, and the guitar neck looks awesome.
Looking forward to the next video.
Hi Stein,
Thank you very much!
Like this format alot 👍

Very nice build and presentation. The wood for the fretboard is beautiful.
Is the circelblade for the fretslots saw, bought at Stewmac?

Nice 👍 format is oke. You can always do a voiceover when needed
Hey Eztier,
Thank you for the voice over tip. I'll keep that in mind.
Bravo!
Great video Daniel even though you do not say much, I find your video very informative.

If the client wants jumbo frets then I don't understand why he also wants the upper frets scalloped. Seems to be overkill. Great job Daniel as always.

What dremel bit are you using to do inlays with? Awsome work love watching the builds you do.
Hi Cecil,
Thank you very much!
I'm mostly using the Dremel ø2mm high speed cutter (193).
@@UnquendorGuitars awsome thank you keep up the awsome work you do I'm still learning 😀
I like it!
Hi John,
Thanks!
Haha If I could ever get my plane as sharp as yours is I’d probably pee my pants .😅
Magnifique !
Signed : a french from hell
Hi Dimebag,
Merci!!
Always amazing
Excellent , much easier to learn from looking , rather than a load of verbal garbage.
