I'm quite certain even if I hated a band live in KEXP studio, I'd still feel good about giving it a time to listen if Cheryl Waters enjoyed it. Her joy is contagious.
She looks happy to be doing what she does, looks like she's really enjoying the performance, and looks like she's swelling with pride for the band. All at once. What a great recording.
I think Lucius is just (are just?) fabulous! The lyrics, the harmony, all the band members 'stage presence' and musicianship and their visual performance, but the stellar music is of such quality and - well, heart-and-mind pertinence - that they astonish. The radio program host's comments about getting goosebumps - likewise! Love this band.
I love Lucius so effing much!!! I first saw them when they were opening for Tegan & Sara. Then, the following year I had the pleasure of seeing them play their own show live. Watching them live is so enjoyable and an experience not to be missed.
Radio stations only play studio recordings and do not have access to live performances which is where Lucius seems to always shine. I would love to have on vinyl the best of their studio sessions and another of specific songs from their full concerts.
I just have to say that if you have a chance to see them live, absolutely TAKE IT! I saw them live a few months back at The Fonda in LA. I can say almost without exaggeration that it was the best live performance I've ever been to -- they just have such incredible energy live. Almost spiritual. To make matters even sweeter, my wife and I ran into them randomly walking on the street right before the show. They're really cute and nice :)
From what I have enjoyed and observed watching these videos, I would say Jess tends to sing lead and Holly the harmonies, both high and low. The Live "White Lies" performance at Brandi Carlile's Girls Just Wanna 3 is a clear and superb example of this.
A great performance indeed, it's just a pity that there was more on screen of the backing band, Modern visual recordings are all the same crap these days. too much coke in the industry I imagine
You nailed it when you said, "... when your guys voices just lock I got goosebumps all over my body..." They are beautiful together. It's beyond amazing! Looking forward to seeing them in November in the OC.
Wow! Just Wow Lucius for so many things! Wow for the harmonies, the overflow of Harmonies, wow to the over tones that are so just and precise and the under tones, that are so free in perfect harmonie. Wow to the two Lucius serene voices, that are at time sweet as honey especially when near whispers but always "on" and right on time with this quiet je ne sait quoi in strength Now, also wow for the arrangements, keeping all real and smooth, and also for the melodies that are of a very popish nature, but when carefully inspected one find that it's a bit more interesting than this; It's more like a free work canvas with multi layers of well crafted sounds , effects and ambiance, a la electronica sauce. There Second Album maybe is the only significant recording worth buying for sure this year. Now go ahead and get stung to by Lucious

Whoah. They've really changed their look since appearing on the wild honey pie. They sound the same and I guess every little bit helps for exposure, but it's a little offputting.
Hmm. I really loved their first record. Not feeling this new stuff as much. The lyrics are pretty distracting - so straight forward and well, kinda boring. Some of it reminds me of Paula Abdul! Sorry!
After 6 years with this band in my life, it's still like getting hit in the face. A force of nature I swear
Seeing Gone Insane performed live is just so visceral, amazing! Love this band!
Yes! Saw them in Cleveland this year and the whole show was incredible, but that song gave me the chills. Such great performers.

Obviously, not saying I didn't enjoy this. It is magnificent.
Yesss!! I love her! She's so sweet and genuine with all of the bands she interviews. It's cute.
I think I could listen solely to bands Cheryl Waters has hosted over the years. Great taste, and she's an absolute delight.
She looks happy to be doing what she does, looks like she's really enjoying the performance, and looks like she's swelling with pride for the band. All at once. What a great recording.
u stupid

tighest band this year...
Couldn’t say it any better👍
Great band, i also love the positivity of the host.
first time I ever heard then was at a small festival last summer and they blew me away. awesome energy and focus.
I love Lucius so effing much!!! I first saw them when they were opening for Tegan & Sara. Then, the following year I had the pleasure of seeing them play their own show live. Watching them live is so enjoyable and an experience not to be missed.
How come we can never hear great artist like them on radio?
Too sophisticated for most people who would rather consume the sacarin crap they can easily digest :(
🤑
B I N G O - yoy've ralized that mass media is only make believe - you'll have to find the cracks in the concrete - you found it ❤️️❤️️❤️️

This thumbnail is perfection.
Dusty Trails is so magnificently beautiful that tears roll out of my eyes totally out of my control.

Amazing performance by four talented musicians. Love how all four merge harmonies & instrumentals to a great performance. A rare treat.
This music holds in 2022 - more than music... Fantastc - thanks... ❤️️❤️️❤️️
Wow. Incredible performance, especially live in-studio. New fan, and shout out to Dan Molad for that awesome drum rig!
I love that I still don't know which of the two singers sings the high or low part. Shows how lockstep they perform.
From watching them on tiny desk I think that the taller one usually sings the higher part. I'm not certain either though
The shorter girl does deeper rich tones
Jess and Holly.

the beats, the vocals, the lyrics = art
Great performances, Lucius. Dusty Trails is one of my favorite!
Greetings from Jakarta, Indonesia :)
amazing band

Never heard them before but after listening to this performance, I will definitely be looking out for them from now on. Amazing performance!
Brought tears to my eyes such beautiful songs
You nailed it when you said, "... when your guys voices just lock I got goosebumps all over my body..." They are beautiful together. It's beyond amazing! Looking forward to seeing them in November in the OC.

That was INCREDIBLE!
I haven't even heard the new album yet, and it has to be the best of 2016 without doubt. Ridiculous.
It absolutely is one of the best of the year. Crazy wonderful!
Accidents are for the old who "believe". You are "meant to BE".

Holy shit.. gone insane tho 🤯 listening to these guys live is a visceral experience to say the least!
WOW, guys, this is an eclectic and wonderful sound!!! Wish you the best! Love & peace!
Props to Jake and Amir.
Definitely want to see them live some day. Sadly their current tour doesnt come my way
They have toured the UK a couple of times. One of their labels is based here, so the tour happens just after a new album is released.

I'd love to see them live!

Here for my bimonthly watch of their KEXP work! STELLAR
When I was a child I had two turtles named Lucius and Lucille. Actually they were Desert Tortoises. Love these musicians almost as my tortoises

That guitar player in the shades is sauced. He'll be hung over before the show that evening.

I love Lucius - but I thought this was a great interview too!
I`ve gone insane......

Gone Insane makes me insane. I love it
Channeling Ann and Nancy on that last track for sure.

IVE MISSED CHERYL
muito bom
Nice aesthetic, bro.
There is 24 people in the world who need ear exams! lol
4:59 when Cheryl is still waving
you can only hear the synths live, on the album they are so lost
CHERYL CHERYL CHERYL
They remind me of the French duo "Brigitte" with their matching costumes and harmonies. Fans of Lucius should look up Brigitte!
Also love that they both sing in an alto-tenor range.

Ugh. It looks and sounds like an accident at the Colman's Mustard factory.
Simple, simple Plebian.
Damn I'm gonna have to switch mustard brands because Coleman's sounds legit AF. #SOLD
+Casey elitist insults.
+Sam Clemmons I guess sarcasm doesn't transfer well via keyboard.

Love their music but not a big fan of the Star Trek's alien look. "Beam them up!"
dont shave the sides of your head ladies
