    Thanks for your video I will be going next month too and for being so real on the public transport and expectations of solo dinner etc,God Bless

      Thank you so much for watching! The transportation was definitely not AS BAD as I think some people make it out to be (at least for my expectations), but it could definitely end up being a challenge depending on what's on your itinerary. If you decide to stick in one area/around one major bus route like I did on Day 2, you should have no problems. I absolutely loved my time in Jeju so I hope you have the best time too!

    Thank you for sharing your good and less perfect experiences! My favorite is that you described how you felt in these situations.
    Getting around by yourself in a new place is definitely tough. Depending on public transit too! I still love that public transit is an option.
    You also reminded me of how nice it is to meet some cool at hostels that you get along with and can explore or eat together with!

      Thank you so much for your kind comment! "Less perfect" is the way to describe them -- they're not bad at all, not even non-ideal, just not perfect. I honestly find that those experiences make everything feel so much more REAL and thus, more special :) Jeju's definitely a magical place full of wonderful people to meet and things to experience (even if the transportation is less-efficient than major cities lol it's still better than nothing). Thank you so much for watching

    Thank you for sharing your anxieties and the moments that are less fun about solo travel. I’ve been solo traveling this year too, I’ll actually be in South Korea this October! I really enjoy traveling on my own but there a many moments that I feel unsure or anxious. I’m not glad you have these troubles too but it’s a lil nice to know that others feel the same way at times 💖

      Thank you so much for watching! Those not-so-fun parts can definitely throw things off, but that's what makes solo travel so unique, right? It definitely helps to see honest travel experiences online to make it all feel like a normal part of the process. I hope you've been enjoying your year of travel -- October in Korea will be beautiful!

    I saw there is 🍊 garden in the begging of the video but i could not see in the video. It would be nice if you could show the location in map so its easier to understand:/ and i need to plan carefully if taking bus huhu. Thank you.

      Hi! Yes, the hallabongs at the start of the video were from when I went to the Jeju Folklore Museum. They were playing on a video of the seasons in Jeju. I wasn't able to visit any hallabong garden/arboretum on my trip unfortunately. But yes, make sure to plan out your routes and have a great time in Jeju!

    So sorry for that frustrating experiences as a Korean, I also find the policy that some of the restaurants accept customers from 2 people very annoying. Thankfully, there has been more stores accept solo eater over time.

      I actually haven't had an issue with single-person seating yet (thankfully), but I noticed I was the only one there alone that time which just made me a bit nervous 😅 Korea's been lovely for so much solo travel!

    Hello, where is the area in the video? Is it Seogwipo-city, Naju-city, Suwon-city, Pyeongtaek-city, or Jinhae-city?

    • @lynneguine
      @lynneguine  9 місяців тому

      Hi! I was in Seogwipo city on my first day and then spent the next two nights in Jeju City. I traveled along the west coast on my second day so that I'd stay at a hotel in Jeju City and then on my third day, I was in Jeju City and its surroundings. If you're curious about any of the specific places I went to, I have their names in the description box! I personally have had trouble link Naver Maps links before, so I thought having the names in English and Korean would help you if you search for them directly!

    This video is the cutest! glad i stumbled upon it :) I'll be going to Jeju soon too, can I ask what the first hostel you stayed at was called? and did you like where it was located?

    • @lynneguine
      @lynneguine  Рік тому

      Thank you so much for watching! The first hostel was called Ttottot Jeju Backpackers (또똣 제주 백팩커스) and I really loved it! I thought it was very affordable for the beauty of the location and the quality of the stay. It was right by Sagye Beach (사계해안) so I will say that it's not exactly in any central hub on the island, which made relying on public transportation less convenient; I was still able to get to where I needed to go, but it usually included a few transfers. HOWEVER, I thought the location was absolutely beautiful and there were plenty of places to eat and walk around nearby. It'd be absolutely perfect for anyone looking to relax for a few days.

    You just made me lose hope on public transportation lol. I'll be going in a couple of days to South Korea and I'm including Jeju on my trip. I thought that people were exaggerating about how bad public transportation is, but you made me change my mind haha. Will see how it goes for me 🥲. Thank you for sharing your experience!! I've travelled alone in the past and I can totally relate to your struggles !

    • @lynneguine
      @lynneguine  Рік тому

      Oh no that definitely was not my intention! Most of my mishaps were 100% my fault for not paying close enough attention or not planning my travel plans through lol. I hope you have a great time in Jeju and South Korea!

    Can I check how long did you spend at the green tea museum and innisfree? I wanted to go for solo traveling. So would want to estimate the time.

    • @lynneguine
      @lynneguine  Рік тому +2

      Of course! I think I spent about an hour at the cafe/museum/observatory areas and then another hour at the tea fields and innisfree house because I was making my soap. There isn’t anything in particular to DO while you’re there other than walk around, look at the view and eat/shop, so I would estimate based on how much time you typically spend in places like that!

    😂😂 I’m laughing so much!! I’m so sorry for your struggles. I would have done the same thing!! I put in so much effort, do things the hard way, and don’t even reward myself with what I wanted to do in the first place 😂🥲🥲 it’s about the journey huh
