    My theory is that it is parallel/alternate realities crossing one another. I feel as if Brian was unable to accept the death of his sister so his desire to see his sister once more caused the timeline that his sister was alive in to merge with his. Meanwhile, his sister was not close to Brian because he died at a young age, but perhaps somewhere in her heart she desired to have known him better. These desires allowed for the two realities to cross, and the two were able to meet each other once more and enjoy one another's company, even if for a little. Don't know if this makes any sense, but it's what I think the story was about.

    • @JimmyPizzaDelivery
      @JimmyPizzaDelivery 2 роки тому +43

      I mean, it makes sense at first, but then even in this reality, there's going to be an Earth, and with this Earth, billions of people, at least half with desires of some sort.
      But maybe the forest has a stronger connection with those realities and thus can allow people to pass through it?

    Ok theory time.
    I think that special spot on the woods these siblings encountered, seems to be a point beyond reality's rules and traps whoever gets absorbed by it as if it needed a Host, as this is done, that said person gets removed from their reality hence why both the brother and sister seem to be dead on the other's respective worlds.
    Furthermore, since they are not supposed to exist, they promptly would vanish after a while, their physical bodies then kept trapped once more on that place, although, it seems to be possible for them to still interact with the rest of the universe, maybe from some sort of outer body experience, since I fully believe the sister guided her brother back.
    The reason for the murder spree seems to be getting infected with those things, the brother got treated in the hospital before it ever became a problem so he just vanished without any trouble.
    The only way to escape that hellish spot in the woods looks to be getting replaced by someone else, hence why things only finally changed when Bryan experienced what Laney was going through, that's the moment he was trapped, and I would not be surprised if in all bittersweet fashion, he was still there, probably feeding those creatures as he sacrificed himself for his sister's life .
    Quite a sad ending to an amazingly written story, it was filled with suspense, horror and creepyness; it had me questioning the sanity of Bryan's mind, and how reliable was he as a narrator only for it to become a compelling eye watering story.

    I listen to a couple of other creepy pasta narrators, but The Dark Somnium is the only creepy pasta/horror/fantasy channel that I genuinely *love* to listen to. The effort of sound design and original music, combined with Ronnie's passionate readings, make for such an engaging experience, nobody else can come this close. Ronnie, you are THE best at what you do, thank you for putting your work on YT, it really helps the bad insomniac nights go by a lot faster!

    This is reminiscent of "The Girl The Universe Forgot" that you narrated a couple years back, but it also has that same feeling of fantastical horror as, "Has anyone heard of the lost City Korona?" that you also did a while back, the ending was very touching, the writing is excellent, all in all: this is up there with the aforementioned stories as one of the best i've ever heard.

    I realize the amount of work involved in what I'm going to suggest would be extremely time consuming and costly but if you were able to find someone to do animations for these stories, it would open up a whole new fan base for you. I could see you hitting several million subs by doing that. The way you tell these stories with other character voices really paint a picture and I can see all of these stories as movies or episodes in my head but there are a lot out there that need visuals and I'm sure you would gain so much from doing it. Regardless, I absolutely love these stories. I've been hooked and have listened to at least 100 of them if not more.

      Ooh even just animatics or storyboards would make them so engrossing…that way you get the best of both worlds, listenable bedtime stories to spook to or a smartly dressed video to drown an hour in

    • @zinc2zinc2
      @zinc2zinc2 2 роки тому +7

      @@Darksomnium full animations are too expansive and time consuming. Perhaps animatics or animated splash art? Maybe some atmospheric cinematic shots?
      Not sure, im not the targeted audience. Im more than happy with audio as a bedtime story or while working. I usually just listen to these videos more than watching them. Perhaps make a vote page or something and get some info from the audience. Or try an experimental video with a animatic (maybe short story) and see how it goes.

    • @illbeyourstumbleine
      @illbeyourstumbleine 2 роки тому +7

      @@zinc2zinc2 same, I listen to these either with my eyes closed or doing task around the house. I would hate for the stories to take at least twice as long to get out due to very hard to do animation. Hell, cartoons have huge teams and still take quite a long time with the same characters. This would be new characters each time, like making a movie for the longet ones. Some people show more along the lines of what you're saying and I feel like that works well for ambiance and the people who want that. The narrations alone take a lot of work, that doesn't include the soundtracks. It would be just too much of a workload I feel like.

    • @ArDeeMee
      @ArDeeMee 2 роки тому +5

      @@Darksomnium If you put animations in, those of us looking for an audiobook experience will be made to feel left out. Because there will inevitably be easter eggs or visual details sprinkled in… Just as a heads-up.
