Wait! He didn't mention that he owned houses when you asked him about his assets!
@@cynthiaTz he doesn’t he is just a real estate broker
@@cynthiaTz he had 4 houses from his family, sold them and just plunder the money. After the interview ended he is a real-estate agent sold 4 houses. I do not believe him, but because the fiance went to work making 48.000 he will use her.
I think she xshould live with him because she has the 2 kids, but marriage should be out of the question. He smiles when he says her mother will pay for the wedding, so he does not care. Since he drank all that booze he must have been a wife beater
Hearing "Bye Felicia" in a French accent is absolutely hilarious
Hahaha
@@itsRomainFaure Under your comment it says “translate to English” 😂
Rude :) haha joking@@lloydwoodward9053
These type of fake rich men are all about status and appearance while they spiral into poverty. I find it pretty gross how he made a woman 15 years younger than him completely financially dependent on him meanwhile she has zero assets, no degree, and 2 children without the protections of marriage! These men are not the "providers" they think they are. I mean this guy is nearing homelessness and def courted her with the impression they were going to live the highlife! I wonder how much she knows how dire their situation is! this is another lesson in why you should never entrust a man with your financial future!! This guy made horrible decisions, never thought about the future, and his wife and children will pay the price.
Agree 100%!!! This woman is probably too naive to know what a bad situation she is in.
@@deirdrekiely6187 LOL let's be real she's not an innocent victim either.
That's what she gets for being a gold digger
They can fix things together, people have been through worse. I don’t think he’s full on the ‘bad guy’ here… I wish them both the best!
She probably bragged to her friends that she gets to be a SAHM because she is engaged to a rich man. He needs to mature quickly and live up to his promise. And she should be prepared to continue her medical training.
I so prefer this channel to Caleb Hammer's. Romain is much more professional and calm and is trying to help, not insult.
Different styles, I appreciate your kind comment :)
Same here. I unsubscribed from Caleb Hammer because his videos seemed to me too loud and chaotic.
Why not enjoy both
Some of Romain's guests need to be yelled at lmao. Not this guy tho he seemed sensible and didn't really make excuses.
Not to mention a wider range of people. Not the same thing at all.
As bad as it seemed, I appreciate this guy coming to this channel and acknowledging his problems instead of being drunk and abusive to his family. Hope it goes well in the future for them!
I agree he had great courage coming in!
I didn't hear anything about him being abusive!? He was definitely irresponsible though.
@@Savannah-ed4rv yes, i was saying thank god he tried to find solution instead of being abusive
100%
He inherited 4 houses, liquidated them and spent it all on alcohol. The $40,000 engagement ring is the least of his problems lol
Right? lol but I think the thing he’s trying to point out is that he blames draining the inheritance on being young etc, but the stupid $40000 ring was so recent. He’s still making mindless spending decisions.
But the problem is that this one was the most recent one ... the original behavior had not changed ...
@@itsRomainFaure true, true. I wasn't laughing at you. The engagement ring is crazy! But to be fair he was 30 when he blew his inheritance, that's old enough to know better.
@@janefair7028 life is about balance, I am not saying invest 100% of what he inherited, but at least be smart about your decisions at that time… only time will tell :)
@@janefair7028 what index fund are you getting 13% on?? closer to 10% and 700k
It's not what you make that counts. It's what you keep.
Nicely said - for me its about balance, between enjoying life, and also being mindful on how you manage your finances.
He is a dumb man who wants to show his friends he is living the high life. Women are better off without this kind of a man, he is a useless bum in my opinion. Let him suffer the consequences and his wife can move to her mother's until she gets her life together. Sick man to put his wife through this.
This man does not care about his family. A wife should leave this kind of man, he does not care about her or the kids. I hope she does not get a job to help this jerk
I am sorry sir this is not fair on the grandparents, because of this clown
@Markeritaville happy to help. Now go earn and save.
Asset: $40000 diamond ring. Sell that puppy now.
Last frontier ...
heck yes
from the update, Antonio said the wife got a job because she didn't want to cut back her luxuries---not their dire situation, not the kids, making a sacrifce is what prompted her. This is just my interpretation but thats what I got from the scant update Antonio gave. I think you would have to pry that ring from her cold dead hand. that and still having the expensive wedding....
But at least Antonio is sounding positive, hope things keep improving for him
Yes! That ring represents the past foolishness and ruin. Sell it and replace it with a reasonable ring that makes you think about a new better future for your marriage and family.
@@JoJo-ie8sl Yep, that stood out to me, too. Not, "I want to look out for the kids", but "I still want my comforts." Nothing like a financial crunch to show people's true colors. Yikes.
Antonio should give up
the pilot idea. He's 44 and has health issues. A high blood pressure incident in the cockpit could be disastrous for more than him.
It's pretty common to have issues with the FAA approval if you have a VA disability rating (his $1k/mo tax-free). There are companies that help, like Wingman Med, but they are not free.
@@arh1234well giving his current health situation it’s pretty slim
This is painful. This man is an example of an intelligent person who made foolish and immature financial decisions. As someone who might be near his parents' age, I cringe at thinking how hard they probably worked, perhaps their entire lives, for the properties he inherited which he squandered on expensive wine, food and liesure in a couple of years. 😒. As my mother would say, " champagne taste on a beer budget. "
Rags to riches back to rags is a fear of mine
I hear you 👍 fair comment.
@christopherhernandez3909 good, it means you're going to be fine. It's the people who don't think about what could happen that usually end up in very bad situations. Don't live in fear, but do plan for the worse, and expect the best. 😊 ❤
@@christopherhernandez3909 This guy inherited four properties. It's just riches to rags.

“So you were chillin with the homeboys…” from Romain made me cackle 😂
I love hearing American slang in a French accent. My new favorite channel 😆
10 Years living full time in the US, 25 years visiting, I have learned some of my ways around :)
hahahahaha 😂
Funniest comment of the whole video 🤣
An engagement ring is a representation of the man essentially, so him living in NY without having to work, eating lobster, living the high life, pilots license, finance walking around with a $40,000 ring, having a $50,000+ wedding… while battling homelessness behind the scenes.
He is all about how things look on the outside to everyone else, about looking flashy.
I’m so glad he has reached out to the people around him to ask for help. For a guy that has a bit of an ego, this can be hard.
I would love another update in a couple months!!
Trust me we will be following up with him in a couple of months :) The game is not all played yet, consistency will be key!
It's more than an ego, he some serious self worth issues
@@28cthedestroyer good point. It’s when he said “but I’m still in the top 10” when I realized it lol.
@HeyShae 😂😂😂 like no dude you bottom 10 might even be #1 with how he be blowing that money smdh
If I were his family I wouldn't help. It's his responsibility to manage his finances. He's probably the highest earner in his family. No I wouldn't be giving him any of my time for free.
Guy like him will never change. If he get's another high paying job he will be back to his old ways.
He's also at health risk for flying.
The ER bill hasn't come in yet. That's another debt.

Dude has an amex platinum (one of the highest annual fee cards) and a 40k ring and Romain suggested he go on food stamps!! Think about that.
Good points ... priorities!
residual on that ring is probly 10k max
The ring was given to his fiancée. The only way he can sell the ring (which he won't get retail price for!) is if the relationship ends and she returns the ring.
This man is a clown@@SuzanneUhe live the high life selling 4 houses, now he is blaming the wife. I hope she sits quietly and take care of her kids. I would not go back to work for this laughing clown. After a mother raises her children, then they want you to raise their children.
This man has been spending, spending not thinking about his children.
AMEX Plat is really overrated... the math does not check out unless you're SPENDING money
Commercial pilot from Europe here. We don't want this dude flying passengers. If I ever had an FO this full of shit I'd call the company and ask for either replacing him or replacing me. Somebody displaying this level of irresponsible shouldn't be trusted with hundreds of lives...
My thoughts exactly. Imagine having to trust this ejeet with your life.
I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or two that this channel has hundreds of thousands of followers. I've been binge watching and love this guys content. He has tapped into the same secret sauce that put Dave Ramsey in the top 10 podcast in the world. And that is that people want to learn about $, but it's hard for the average person to relate to financial information until it's wrapped up in someone's story. Then it's instantly relatable. I hope this guy keeps sharing people's stories and eventually expands into deeper financial subjects like Dave has, sharing stories of people building businesses, recovering from bankruptcy, etc. Hope this channel blows up soon. It's great content. ❤
I am here! and I really appreciate your kind words, I have some great experience with small businesses too so I am hoping to be able to find individuals in those situations to highlight those components!
Total failure to control 'wants' vs 'needs'. My wife picked out her own ring. It cost $17.00 I'm not lying. We are financially comfortable, and I offered multiple times to have an exact copy made for her out of precious metal. She refused to change out the ring. Yes, I know how lucky I am.
My daughter got married and chose a lab created ring on humanitarian grounds. She's been married 6 months, and they've bought a house. Frugal wins the day.
@@SoulfulVeg you taught your daughter well. She's started her marriage out on the right track.

Thank you so much! There is much more than just numbers on paper; it's all about truly understanding the story and root cause. I try to address this with points tailored to what is important to the individual I am speaking with. I appreciate you notice that :)

He doesn't have an income or earning problem, he has a spending problem and a terrible one at it. Hope he is able to see through it.
A $40k ring is dangerous for a women to wear, attracts thieves. It's like walking around with a flashy $40k Rolex, makes you a target for strong-arm robberies.
He’s a poor man who wants to live irresponsibly, like he has billions in the bank, and she’s a girl who wants a sugar daddy. They both have dreams of luxury and don’t have the goods to back it up.
@@TVHouseHistorian you read my mind. So true!
Agree I would also be afraid to accidentally lose it or misplace it. That thing would need a built in tracking device attached to it 😂
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I stopped wearing my $10k ring for that reason
I don’t see this guy fixing this because it’ll require too dramatic of a spending change. I feel like if he was capable of the change he would’ve done it already. I think you could give him 10M and within 4 years he’d be in debt and have nothing to show for it again. In his head he thinks he’s special and of course he should have the best food/wine/etc. I think it would require a lot of work to change how he thinks of himself and how he values things.
Can you see that he is making progress though ... not all can happen in 3 months, and while it may not be the most optimal it is going in the positive direction.
Oh wow, his tolerance to risk is just mind boggling. Still having the 50k wedding instead of wiping out the debt is so risky. One layoff away from the same position he was in during the audit... Also fair to the fiancee to disclose the debt before she marries him.
I think his tolerance is being tested right now, given what he mentioned around feeling that he will have a heart attack ...
Textbook case of the ant and the grasshopper. He never saved up in times of plenty
Hmm ... I am liking this!
That’s what I thought of as well.
saved? saving barely puts u in like with inflation. You need to put that capital to work
It's one thing to have made irresponsible financial decisions, when you're the only person affected by the consequences. But when you have 3 dependents... wow. I believe him when he says he fears he'll have a heart attack in the middle of the night. I can't imagine what it must be like living with the guilt of knowing you are in very real danger of losing your home, and introducing your children into a life of financial instability and insecurity. I genuinely hope this man can turn things around, and I admire his willingness to be humble enough to ask for help, and to stand as a cautionary tale for others. There likely are countless people who are in very similar situations, but they're *not* asking for guidance and they *will* lose everything.
Romain, your content is fantastic. I really like how thorough you are in your analysis, and how respectful you remain, even when delivering a well-deserved reprimand to some guests. You are delivering a very important service, and you're having a tangible positive impact on people's lives. I will continue to cheer for your success, and the success of your UA-cam channel! 🙂
I appreciate you are sharing your thoughts, and I very much agree with your analysis. I cannot judge the past, other than stating the facts and understanding the root cause of the issue. I have the same hopes as you that Antonio will take control of his life, not only for him, but also for his family!
My ring is lab grown and i love it. We got married at the court house with very little guests. We've been married for years. It was by far the most mature decisions we ever made. We are debt free, with savings and we have been on vacations numerous times. Our kids are grown and we live below our means.

I am back! Videos are about to come out, I appreciate your patience as I go through the move to Vegas :)
I’ll be honest I remember seeing your videos pop up as an advertisement under FinancialAudit episodes and I thought it was lame copying the same idea (even though you have every right to do that).
Honestly though I really enjoyed this video. Much calmer and it seems like your guests do care to an extent. It’s not solely just drama like FA has become. Keep up the solid work, everyday more and more people are asking FA to get serious candidates but that doesn’t seem to be happening. Someone recommended your channel and I decided to give it another shot, don’t regret it at all.
I truly appreciate! Thank you for giving me this chance!
I watched the update and was happy to see he took you seriously. It would help if he read The Millionaire Next Door. It's really about the mindset you have. For the kids, I would make your situation not one of scarcity, but make it an adventure. The lessons they learn will be very important. Early on my Dad told me not to be poor when I got older. He said that it is not what you earn, but what you save. Antonio is still young and with the proper mindset and discipline, he can make it happen. When he does have more money, don't be in that mindset that having a bigger and better home and car is what is important. All that rich food you were eating was actually killing you. Blessings to you and your family. Great job, Romain.
I could see him fitting into the airline industry in management (my field). His degree would suit it too. I wish him well!
He should NOT go to law school. My husband graduated law school with 120k of student loan debt and 3 years into practicing law he was miserable and changed careers. Now 10 years later the student loan debt is up to 229k because of the interest. We learned the hard way and this is not a career to casually cross into. We took a gamble thinking it would be a wise investment but it turned out to be a big financial mistake.
What’s he doing now?
Good question, yes what is he doing now?
@@itsRomainFaure he is head of sales for a tree care company in Portland. When he was an attorney his first job paid him 37k/year doing family law. Now he is 100% commission and makes about 250k/yr. We pay a lot in taxes and have bought a house which is why we haven’t paid down our student loans but in reality we spend way too much of our income. 😒 If we were on the show we would look so dumb lol.

Thank you so much for putting the update at the end of the video. I could feel my anxiety rising for fear of Antonio becoming homeless with two young children. I admire the honesty and transparency of Antonio and I learned a lot from his story. I could empathize when he said that he felt that he would have a heart attack due to anxiety. So happy that he successfully turned his finances around. Congratulations, Antonio! I am rooting for you and your family.

Its crazy how much better your format is than caleb. I tune into calebs show for like 4 minutes and it bothers me so much how all over the place he is. Literally that show is just about him yelling in a squeaky voice. I enjoy how you follow the number one financial rule Assets minus liabilities = equity. Even though it was not a typical situation where the guest is looking for you to "fix" their disasterous situation, I really liked your episode with Noah (who was such a contrast that with Kylie, who is about the same age). Noah's story created such hope in me about our younger generation. Even though he had accomplished a lot of success, especially considering his young age, you were still able to provide good suggestions on improving Noah's investment options.
I also thought you did such good work in helping Antonio in this episode, as he was likely feeling overwhelmed and probably didn't know where to begin. You did such a good job in putting focus on several issues clearly and more simply that his countenance actually seemed to change by the end, and it appeared he felt there was hope and light at the end of the tunnel. Keep up the great work, Romain! @@itsRomainFaure

Love your channel Romaine! I love this kind of financial storytelling. And thank you for being the grown up in the room without resorting to shaming and bringing in Jerry Springer guests ala CH. This was a hard story to watch. If he had been smarter with his money he would be doing extremely well. Such a wake up call to take care of your finances now because you don't know what will happen in the future.
Thank you very much, yes I try to remain neutral to truly understand the root cause of the issue and addressing the problem with recommendations specific to the guest. I appreciate you are noticing those efforts :)
Shoutout Too Good To Go! I love their concept.
Sorry about the live-commenting lol it just keeps getting better.
With his previous actioms with the inheritance and credit card addiction, I’m more worried about him not changing his entire mindset around money.
In a way, I think he needs to hit rock bottom to get him in check, and I hope he’s at rock bottom.
Its always nice to see the positive changes from people who come to your show. I believe that by you also following up on them help put some sense of accountability on their shoulder on top of all the reality check.
I very much agree, it is about taking the right actions, in fact, it is the name of the show :)
Wow what a gem of a channel! Great content
Thank you so much!
I just wanted to thank you Romain for getting these people for your show! They are so much more relatable! Also the organization of your show is incredible! Keep up the wonderful work! I am enjoying it so much!!
Love this comment! Thank you for trusting me with your time!
You've got this Antonio!
I have hopes from the update!
I love his go-get attitude at the end, and taking responsibility! And kuddos for the wife for getting a job 🤩
Let's go!!!
New Subscriber! LOVEEEE the content 🤗 Thank you Romain, such an informative and classy style in terms of delivery.
Hellooo ! Welcome on board :) thank you so much for giving me a chance 😊
Isn't the first example of squandered inheritance. This is a good lesson. Thanks for the episode. Hard to come on here.
Romain, i’m a new subscriber, I love your calm, cool & genuine caring demeanour.. also, really love the ‘updates’ at the end of the episodes! :)
Welcome on board ! I appreciate your kind message
Really like this channel. Like how he goes over the finances specifically. Have watched Dave Ramsey and Caleb Hammer too but this is better.
I appreciate the positive words, we each have our own styles for sure!
Watching from China! So excited for the new format 🎉
WOW I am international now! Hope you are enjoying your trip! Thanks for the feedback
Good to know you will check back with him in a few months! 👍🏻
Yes I do follow up with people coming to the show!
What a great outcome! Sounds like you get there just in time to help him and his family!
I am hoping they continue on this trajectory!
Glad i found this channel... I was enjoying Caleb Hammer, but he became a money hungry sellout. Hanging out with Graham Stephan and taking shady sponsors, you hate to see it
I was thinking same like what is going on at hammer house like I came be the only one who don’t like it anymore
I still watch Caleb but I barely found his content this month. I like that Romain doesn’t yell at all.. hope Romain keeps getting and more people on the show.
So much screaming and banging the table with Caleb! I think sometimes he doesn't ask the difficult questions because he's too busy shouting
Unfortunately I'm feeling a bit the same way. Shouts over guests, interrupts them and doesn't let them speak to find out what he's asking. The calmer version I enjoyed more.
He can hang with whoever he wants 😂😂😂 funny ash people think they can dictate what others do in their lives 😂😂😂 and his sponsors are actually good. Your probably just Garbage with your money
It's kind of a "Gift of the Magi" situation, but should they try to sell the ring? Would they be able to get around $20,000 for it? And why not have a much smaller, less elaborate wedding and ask the in-laws for the difference in money? The peace of mind for them would be priceless. A wedding is just one day but the hours of overwork they'd be freed from and the extra time they could be with their kids would be worth it. They could do a nice small wedding for half the price or even (much) less. Then someday if they want and can afford it, they can do a more elaborate vow renewal.
And it could prevent him from having a heart attack.
I love how you are always so kind to people.
I agree with your recommendations, however, knowing the individual I knew this was not going to happen ... and so I had to come up with actions that had great probability for success.
@@itsRomainFaure I sensed that. You're very insightful.
They could do a small ceremony now and do a more elaborate one in 5 or 10 years when they're more financially stable.
I'd be selling that ring :| good luck, Antonio
In French we say "keep a pear for thirst" meaning this would be the ultimate decision if no actions were taken...
Good path they got themselves on. Good news for this family! Yay to Romain! Love the music that goes with the video, too.
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed some of our recent enhancements :)
Keep it up, Antonio…and Romain!
YES! I know I will, now it is up to Antonio :)
I would LOVE to see another update on this case
Yes! It is coming along :)
I hope you had the chance to listen to the update at the end of the video as well!
