The Desolation of Mordor story expansion is upcoming downloadable content for Middle-earth: Shadow of War. It will allow you to play as Baranor, the captain of Minas Ithil and survivor of the city's demise. Players will command the forces of Men against a new Orc threat to the east.
Unite with Torvin to craft powerful new combat gear and hire new mercenaries to create a human army and conquer the all new desert region of Lithlad. For the first time in the series, you will fight as a human without the power of a ring or a wraith to cheat death in a new rogue-like campaign mode.

It's kind of cool to see the Easterlings get some attention. I always found them to be a fascinating and underappreciated aspect of Middle Earth.
Agreed, I think the Easterlings and Haradrim are awesome. I wish Tolkien was able to stick around long enough to flesh them out. Rest in peace Tolkien 😔
I am sure when it involves the Men of Tolkien universe. I am sure it resemble GoT setting
@@arturosiew2043 GoT came much later though.
1:19 He's dead, roll credits.

mikkelnpetersen lol
mikkelnpetersen ya wtf. You can literally hear crunching sounds as he’s being devoured...yet he wakes up with minor grogginess. Odd way to start things off.
I legit thought I fucked up somehow during that
Yep.
Still a better pov character for Shadow of Mordor 3 than Eltariel.
still steaming that she couldnt just give talions ring back to him at minas morgul
Maybe title "Shadow of Light".
@Plo Koon I used that skin :D
@Plo Koon Galadriel looks like that skin when she uses her full power against Sauron's wraith form in the Hobbit, and Eltariel does the same thing, I assume. Celibrimbor's ring can't corrupt in the way the Rings of Power can, but they can slightly corrupt the user's mind.
I'd rather have Baranor or a new protagonist 8n Shadow of War 3 because Monolith games seemed to have teased a sequel with Celebrimbor's spirit surviving.
Kahjiit has mercenaries if you have coin..
A fellow skyrim fan ayayayya
@@mouseburger4183 i see a man of culture as well
@@crimson_scum7129 lol thanks
Hahahahahaha cried my self
Jzargo is now the mercenaires leader.
"and if you don't like dwarf arses, don't look up" *instantly looks up*
I honestly like Serka. It is his Serka the Merciful line and how calmly he said it during his rant that done me in.
Like he flipped like a switch from furious to calm and back to furious again
Wildcards like him are always fun to watch lmao 😂
"SERKA THE UNKILLABLE, SERKA THE INSUFFERABLE, SERKA *THE DESTROYER!!* But if any of you would like to return to my good graces, Serka the Merciful asks only one thing, TAKE THIS PIECE OF FILTH AND THROW HIM TO THE WYRMS!"
This dlc is actually not bad, it's nice seeing new areas and stuff
it seems like a short story though
It's extremely short. It has some unique features but it's all done to quickly, like hiring the mercenaries. There are only 15 of them to hire, their skills being randomized. Some of them are unique but you'll need to play through it several times to get them. Some skills don't save, and it's more of a speedrun mode, see how fast it takes you to play without dying. I wish they had a freeplay mode of it.
I didnt mind the story but it rather raging becuase you have to start from square one if you die
DLC should've been Talion as a Nazgul. It would've been cool getting to play on Sauron's side and invading human forts.
That would be EPIC
Hell ya
@Super JLK I hope so
that one shouldve been blades of galadria
I concur.
Idk why this killed me. “Get off the sand, ITS ALL SAND!!” “Keep calm, keep moving, WHEERRRE? Anywhere that isn’t sand” 😂😂😂
24:35 - 24:52 I am not kidding when I say that the music went absolutely PERFECTLY with the Ringmaster's introduction.
I'm amazed at how calm the main character seems going from shooting hundreds of feet up a cliff with an ancient contraption, to jumping off that cliff a moment later and hang gliding for first time in his life without any instructions, to finding his lost older brother another moment later. Yet has no reaction or surprise what so ever to any of this.
He has a mission he will take what ever he can get.
He finally gained main character status, so now he acts like it.
Well I mean he is a gondorian veteran from minas Ithil who already has seen many surprises
That's kinda how it is in Mordor. You get used to this sort of stuff and he does have reaction to it
MUTHAFUCKING BARANOR
Shadow of War: Syndicate.
I'd buy that.
Unity and revelations too!
made my day hahahaa
I think this DLC is REALLY good. Its good to see Torvin again and Its interesting to instead of playing as a super powered badass with magical powers who can cheat death, to play as a normal human who only gets 1 life. And I kinda like we get a human army this time. I mean I LOVE to recruit Orcs but having humans on your side is a now change of pace. Also I like Serka. He's an interesting and funny character
25:54 is what I came here for
“Serka the Unkillable, Serka the Insufferable, Serka the DESTROYER!! But if any of you would like to return to my good graces, Serka the Merciful asks only one thing, TAKE THIS PIECE OF FILTH, AND THROW HIM TO THE WYRMS!!!!”
At 25:53 is the best part when he goes from crazy to calm
Gotta love Serka the Bipolar.
That was a good one, his brother was a funny guy.
30:11 I like this scene, it's a good scene that brings more emotional depth to Barnor and his brother.
Best moments (in my opinion):
18:15 overlords arm go boom
25:37 serka is angry
36:21 serka being bored
"It seems you have better eyes than I do"
"And looks too, but who's keeping track?"
Serka definitely has character.
Its the dwarf from shadow of mordor who faught the great white graug.
F1nnlow 7274 Torvin
Meh best budy
F1nnlow 7274 no shit Sherlock
Correction, who slept while you fought the Great White Graug.
@@kirby7294
And who fought the Graug? It was the Gravewalker, The Gondor Ranger, The Bright Lord, The Wraith.
This needs to be continued, I want to see more to this story and I feel sad for the Baranor character because of how Minas Ithil fell and became Minas Morgul
And more than 1 mercenary company
meow meow27 sure, a second faction could be cool like Mercenaries who are actually loyal to the Orcs
You know what would have made a better boss battle? Baranor vs Nazgul Talion. Just the thought of the sheer amount of drama that could have generated in a player would have made the plot line so much more thicker.
Maybe in possible next game
I’m sorry but baranor would get demolished
Lou Fay but who literally has a army of the undead
Lou Fay but who literally can defeat lords of darkness and not petty thieves all the time
Lou Fay and also you think some scientists could defeat the undead?
IT'S ALL SANNDDD!!!!
that was fucking great
Anakin is disapointed
@@lizardlad279 I hate sand
Anakin’s worst nightmare
So, in the end, he goes to Gorgoroth, thats were Idril and Talion rescue him, and then they head off to fight future battles and probably play a part in the third game. Interesting.
Jack o lantern 14 xD
This is set after the story
I honestly hope there isn't a third game. This dlc and the other one are horrible. The Ending with Talion is good enough for me. The other characters besides Celebrimbor add absolutely nothing, definitely wont get a third game.
abcd First off baranor wasn’t a bad character honestly he was better than edgy ass Talion in the first game. He was only good in this game due to not having the bland sorry vengeance plot line that got annoying real quick. And he had celebrimbor for 95% of his interactions. Baranor and his brother plus the dwarf and Idril creates an interesting cast to be fleshed out if they do another game. But we won’t speak of how poorly written and annoying Eltairiel is.
It's not that bad. I mean, being better than BOE is a low low bar but hey, serka Was hella dope and it was fun.
Ah, quality time with one's kin. The family that slays (hyper violent savage warriors and monstrous beasts) together, stays together.
great to have Torvin back. God I've missed him
26:00 I love how he just switched his tone from angry to calm.
And then angry again
Let us be The Witch King already. Or full Nazgul Talion.
Or our own fully customizable Uruk/Olog captain, I'd love a game like that
Serka seemed to be the only highlight out of this.
Skythe Annur
The level with which he controls his shown emotions and words when he returns after being betrayed is just AWESOME.
The second dlc was the most fun it had so much new content and you were so op but I wish there was more content to it like full scale invasions of forts across mordor
A dlc where, if you die, that's it, in a game where dying is near mandatory, is a great change in pace. It really makes you feel like you are just a mere mortal, with no super powers.
Fucking turned into fantasy batman. Explanation : NUMENOREANS
On my first playthrough on brutal difficulty I have almost never died
And the few times I have it was on purpose to farm urks
"It really makes you feel like you are just a mere mortal, with no super powers"
I mean. That is not just how it makes you FEEL like, you LITERALLY are that, a mere human without any power, just skill and fancy gadgets at best!
I wished talion was in this dlc too or at least referenced
@Mr Pool You can. You don't have to but you can.
@Mr Pool ua-cam.com/video/K3FRbSkVLtk/v-deo.html you were saying?
He is referenced by torvin in a random dialogue where he says I wonder what happened to that ranger tallion.
Basically I think they are setting up a story for this
Why?
At the very least it has good comedy, granted the dwarf just made me crack at the end
Since when T'challa when to Mondor. 😅
The Badass Jedi. You...you edited this...you actually looked at this comment and thought it was good...
A very stupid commenter: No I was just wondering how exactly do you spell T'challa.
I love this comment.
Did you have a stroke?
I was lookin for this comment LOL
Is coin the new palantir?
Considering they're mercenaries, what do you expect?
THE PALANTIR TALION, I NEED THE PALANTIR!
I admit it would be interesting seeing baranor as the next game protagonist with the unique armor and weapons he has and not to mention the different fighting style and upgrades
I was hoping for another Nazgul boss fight at the end. Sure he doesn't have a ring or a wraith, but he does have his super advanced equipment that could give him an edge. At least Torvin is back
Sure, but it seems like you can't get rid of Nazgul without powers in this game. Talion has to drain them to force them to leave and Eltariel has to use her light. You can't kill them with your weapons.
He has batman's grappling hook? WTF
It's to address not having a faith jumping powers it's cool as FUCK.
How else would you match the main game's climbing speed without giving him powers?? 😂
"Numenoreans"
The grappling hook and parachute gives me just cause vibes
Anakins nightmare just became reality
Well he lived in that nightmare because It is where he was born on
damn sadly no Human Captains for the main game :(
so you can only use the mercenaries for this dlc? thats dissapointing
@Plo Koon it's still disappointing
@@pantherkhan6688 You get a completely new army of people, with a new system of acquiring them, they all have their own unique traits and dialogue separate from the main game, and you still manage to be disappointed? Holy fuck.
@@littlemoth4956 ikr, what a spoiled little shit
@ANON GANG Nerv nicht
"Baranor the Man-bird" That title killed me LOL.
30:10 it's because of this scene that I've been able to handle a broken heart and I know I can still win the day. Success always comes in various forms.
Zhoja seemed to be something they needed just to fill in time in the story. Not to smart either.
""I'm going to tell you exactly where to find the guy I betrayed and not try stop you in any way when you go to rescue him."
I think it was not so bad. Baranor is a quite good character but Talion us Talion. Of course I like him much more then Elatariel. She is really the worst character in this game. I would like to play as Celebrimbor in full living form in another game. I am sure guys from Monolith could write good story with him. Antagonist of antagonists:)
Her position could've been replaced by the other lady from the previous game.
SquidlyTV lithariel? Maybe, but shes just a normal woman.
I know she is just a normal women, but she could've taken Celebrimbors ring of power, and the dlc could've been the same.
SquidlyTV I dont know man, lithariel is just an ordinary woman, maybe when she took the ring of power she would easily get obsessed by it. Doesnt mean I preffer elthariel tho. Jeez now its confusing, elthariel and lithariel.
I'd prefer her to take it because she became obsessed with it over etherial just taking it and completely 180 her character.
Thanks for the epic fort footage I was afraid you would leave it out but you didn’t do thanks!!!
I loved this DLC. The only time in any Middle Earth media that we get to know the Easterlings
Don’t know about any of you guys, but I’d for one love to see a new series about Baranor and his travels.
Waited so lang for This !!!!!!!
He started off as the most boring character... and now I like him, what happened to the little girl though?
She's either fighting orcs on her own or in the gondorian capital
@@darkhawk5231 yeah I didnt really pay attention to the map surroundings
Keep 'em coming GLP!
28:58 the follow-up from your ally was cinematographic as hell
We appreciate what you did and sharing us some informations
Awesome video GLP😁
A Haradrim boy, born in Umbar, who went North to explore the world, reaches Gondor and becomes a captain of Minas-Ithil. Wonderful storytelling. And lore-friendly, which is absolutely awesome. Amazon needed to hire these guys for RoP. Maybe they would come up with a much better lore-friendly story.
13:03 that's about where I died. Eaten by a wyrm. Where was bloody Torvin that time? haha
That's the ending..........
Is anyone going to talk about how priceless Serka is.
OK, but WTF happened to Idril?
ded
not even the DLC cares about her
Baranor actually had dialogue about her and other gondorians. She stayed behind in Mordor while Baranor getting reinforcement.
If i had to guess, they already have greenlit sequel. And she will be the main character.
P.S.: Gameplay of this DLC is just excellent. Totally worth the money, in my opinion.
Yijin Yang to
Read her character entry in the DLC and it explains what happened.
She took the rest of the Gondorians to a refuge in Ithilien, where they escaped Mordor safely.
Once Baranor dealt with the situation in Lithlad (the entirety of this DLC) she and a large force of Gondorian Soldiers rejoined him and his Easterling Mercenaries, where they continued the war for Mordor together.
And yes, it does confirm that their romance is official.
Just finished the campaign today (got the game late lol). I got to say that it gave spiderman vibes along with a hint of assassins creed. It was fun.
Baranor's way better than Eltariel
The desert setting makes me really want the next Elder scrolls to be set in Hammerfell
HOW DID U KNOW
@@denglishjones shut up debbie
The Man Bird
This dlc is very nice, nice new character, nice story and nice gameplay.
Best DLC ever man!! Baranor was way too overpowered with those gadgets and bombs.
I would love a LOTR game based on him.
It would of been awesome to have Nazgul Talion DLC like stated, and a Torvin DLC.
It reminds me a bit of assassins creed.
Why hello Asassins Creed Brotherhood,Unity and Syndicate.
Thank you Mr playground, Thank you.
Finally Easterlings and Haradrim in Shadow of War
You mean politicly correct props.
@@theblueflame2221 How is it being politically correct? That's a retarded way of looking at more people who are darker skin appearing in games especially when the story is good like in this dlc.
@@Akoom I love this DLC, it trully expands the world that Tolkien created and unlike some, I really see justified and enjoy the diversity here. BUT, Baranor in the core game was just forced to be there as well Idril. These two are good characters but were forced to appear
@@Akoom lol what a jew
@@theblueflame2221All no black people exist 😮 sorry ya racist fuck but its true, what if i told you 4 years late us white people aren’t the only people on the planet
For the third game, I'd be cool to go up against The New Shadow cult of Gondor. Play as the protagonist of the story and take down the wicked men of Sauron.
When black panther gets himself a shield
It would have been cool if we got to play as ALL THE NAZGULS and this dlc and talion at his big evil daddy potential
"Family discount" that slayed me
I really love the older brother's attitude
I wish Idril was in this, it doesn’t say what happened to her after her last appearance
Good thing it had a good ending. I was worried that his brother would get killed helping him. What a relief 😂🙂.
What are the little chest I have come across 2 but I can’t open or collect them?
I really enjoyed this dlc I wished they gave us more regions. And the URK-Kai were way to fun to kill
It would have been fun to conquer the rest even, if it goes against the story. Maybe with a clear indication that this is just for fun, and by no means part of the main story. The maps, enemies, most systems are already designed. So i don't think that it would have been too much work to make it happen.
Quite enjoyable little story...
I would actually love it if Baranor was the main character and he had to figure out away to avenge Talion and kill Eltariel
Bless the Maker and His water. Bless the coming and going of Him. May His passage cleanse the world. May He keep the world for His people.
Good luck trying to take gorgoroth from the gravewalker 😂
The protagonist's bro is kind of the "it's free real estate" type
“take it all and give nothing back”
It’s actually really sad that we don’t see talion and torvin reunite
This DLC looks fun
Maiq like this place it remind him of elswyr
Back in the day people said Talion is Batman in Lord of the Rings, but they were wrong. Baranor is Batman. No superpowers, no magic, no immortality. Just you your gadgets, skill, and allies.
i am surprise dlc is still coming out for this game
Since talion can raid this fort
Itd be hilarious if Baranor reaches the overlord and talions just chilling on the throne
I wish that they allowed you to continue as berenor across the other maps of Mordor like talion.
18:15 He talk too much he said.
And what is your problem??
One of these days Serka will kidnap some tourist and will say, "Do you know the definition of insanity?"
4:12
Well what are you doing so far from Nurnen?
The "lad" reminds me to lee from the walking dead
The dwarf look like the hunter who teach talion how to ride the beast
....he IS. Same guy.
... T_T
he is.
Serka kinda looks like a younger Brown Ben Plumm from A Song of Ice and Fire.
Ya know what I wanna know? What rule was Shindram under when barranor took it over? Was it under talions command or Sauron’s? And if it was under talions, then at what point? I mean even tho it’s optional celebrimbor has a devoted dialogue line to capturing Shindram but dark talion doesn’t so either way it’s most likely under talions command
I didn't know Mordor had Thresher Maws
i would have preferred a content dlc like maybe a way to customize your orcs (not like the market) or just more with the nemesis system
Why does this guy remind me of Henry from the Last of Us.
So... No Idril and no real addition to the main story, unlike Blade of Galadriel.
Well this is dissapointing.
At least it gave an interesting way of showing a normal human fighting instead of using wraith magics. I think this was mostly a test run for a next installment with a more human protagonist.
Monolith said that the story ot Talion isn't over yet, so no. It's just an experiment, an interesting one, but the storywise it fails.
The story of Talion IS over but everyone else still has a story. This is just part one of a longer story.
Desolation of Mordor adds the new region Lithlad to the main game
You call Blade of Galadriel an addition to the story? It was total bullshit. The ending took Talion's ending and stomped it under a herd of oliphaunts. His ending went from a dignified struggle against his inevitable corruption over the course of decades to being turned into a bitch a few months or less after losing Celebrimbor's ring. And the support characters were so ridiculous, you couldn't take them seriously. I was able to give a pass at how the orcs were humanized to a degree for Talion, seeing as how his power over them might have that effect, but a group of overly humanized orcs that willingly sided with an elf is taking it way too far. Blade of Galadriel had no credibility in a game that was already fanfiction to begin with
