They've more likely found efficient ways to reach better performance given that the Switch has been out since 2017. I'm not quite ready to jump on the "Switch Pro is totally happening" bandwagon yet, but we'll see.
I looove how detailed the rice making is!! This game is only half a farming game and it’s still putting every other farming game to shame. I wholeheartedly applaud the developer for making the gameplay work the way that should’ve been standard for many years already. This was clearly made by real gamers. And the combat of course looks just as great. I already preordered 😍
Especially by a 2-man Japanese dev team. Fantastic imo. Should definitely check their previous game that’s available on switch/ps4/PC. “AsteBreed” such a fun little 2.5D/3D SHUMP game, fantastic OST to boot and gorgeous Visuals too.

Search up the article at Nintendoenthusiast website “E3 Interview with Edelweiss, the two-man XSEED dev behind Sakuna” It’s not uncommon to see a one or two-man team when it comes to indie devs, especially Japanese indie devs. Cave story was made by one guy after all.

This game has come a long way. I remember the first trailers looked a bit iffy but the gameplay and concept looked solid. Now, the visuals look gorgeous and the action looks insane. Looking forward to it.
How I wish the same developers could make a game with the farming aspect as its main gameplay (with more than just rice). Eastern farming with graphics this beautiful would be the farming simulation of my dreams😭

What other Japanese game are you talking about? The only other one I can think of is the new Momotaro Dentetsu game, which I doubt will release outside of Japan so I can see why they wouldn't show it. I don't know why Sakuna wasn't shown, though.

This reminds me of a super addicting game I played when I was very young. ugh, so many games these days, hard to tell which ones I want. I know Hollow Knight and Hades are comparable examples, not well known but great and a big addition to the collection.
This game has charm bursting out every orifice. It reminds me of those experimental out of left field PS2 games I loved to discover as a kid. Definite buy for me 🌾 🍚 🍛
I already pre-orderd the Divine Edition for this game. An awesome looking title on physical cart for the Switch, an entire physical OST, art book and Sakuna charm all packaged in a neat looking box for the same price as a normal AAA game with no extras? Soooo, how do I say this? Um... Yes?! lol XD
I like classic Japanese culture on videogames (I love Okami) when is done good. This seems VERY well done. And if only two people made this... Damn, I'll have to add it to my wish list... NOW.
It’s all up to Vanillaware and Atlus fo do that, and considering Atlus still has yet talked about Persona 5 on switch or a mainline numbered persona game in general. it’s unlikely that a vanillaware game would ever be bright to the platform.
DON'T let this game go ignored, made by TWO people and it looks incredibly fun, unique and full of personality.
