    CIG basically secured their next 3-5 years of CITCON, Road to Nyx, Road to Castra, and Road to Terra. Even though they look close, I am not holding my breath.

      It looks like it always does: fancy UI mock-ups and lots of presentation slides. I agree that it feels promising and exciting what they showed us, but that's like any other CitizenCon. It all depends on what they can actually deliver.

      @@robertchandler2063 Yeah, we'll be playing in Stanton, Pyro, and Nyx for about 2 years before we get Castra. A year or two later, we'll get Terra. I also think we'll get Odin before 1.0, they just need to transfer the assets from SQ42 to the PU - but who knows when that will happen.

    I think "two years from now" from these folks is indistinguishable from "We have no idea when it will be done."
    They're working on a lot of cool stuff for SC, but seeing as how mining went in 4 years ago and still doesn't work, it's hard to *look forward* to this stuff.

      Wow I knew you liked star citizen, but there's something I fun about finding out my favorite internet DM also watches the same small star citizen UA-cam channel as me.
      I'm waiting on both draw steel and star citizen, though ones gonna be a much longer wait than the other 😅

    CIG is very good at showing players what they want to see at CitizenCon just before their biggest ship sale of the year (IAE). What they still aren't very good at is making the PU enjoyable to play and delivering on what they present/hype up at CitizenCon.

      100% I would play Star Citizen so much more if the servers worked a reasonable amount of the time.
      Heck, I might even upgrade my pledge, but with how the servers are right now, it ain't happening.

      Dude I just spent 250 dollars at the subscriber store and can't get into a server to see it lol I bought the app and alot of other stuff still can't get into a server it's not even showing up

    I know this year was not as openly flashy as last year, but as a backer since 2013 this year had me very impressed, to the point where it feels like it was made to address my personal criticisms of the current state of SC.
    My biggest problem with current SC as a long time backer is the lack of new content and gameplay loops. If you have played SC since 2017 you would know that much of the "content" in Star Citizen hasn't changed much since then really. When you log in, odds are you are going to do the same bunker missions over and over that you did in 2019 or earlier. New ships, same content, same missions.
    This year we finally got info on how star citizen goes from repeating a set of generic missions to an actual game with expansive content and unique missions that can sprawl dynamically all over. Finally getting true org play and them making the player reputation system function so people will interact knowing they likely wont just get ganked by a dickhead if they respond to a random beacon.
    This year's Citizen Con was about how Star Citizen goes from a tech demo to a real game, and I could not be happier.

      Don't think so positively. What they announced this year and as u know, it'll not be out or implemented until at least next 2 yrs minimum. So basically no content and no gameplay loop until 2027. Just look at polishing a finished game it takes 2 more yrs just to get it done

      Don't care that we won't be getting it soon. I'm just happy that CIG finally told us what kind of game SC will be. That's always been my biggest concern.

      I for one absolutely love the tech they are working on so I am hyped for these panels.
      For others though they are understandably put off by these panels because they want gameplay. We all know Star Citizen looks amazing but there's nothing to do and I feel like these panels would pull way more attention if the focus wasn't on "where's our content"

      He's a grinder crafting guy. Not an explorer. I feel asleep during the crafting section because it was just more grind for stats which is bottom of the barrel gameplay for me personally

    Citcon this year was, if not even say less flashy, but more meat to go on the bones. It was more about a reason to play than something to see and go wooo about. Something in there for everyone. Let’s hope they can make it work.

    I think you mis-spoke about warranty. There aren't 3 levels of warranty, there are 3 levels of insurance. Chassis, custom components, decorations. Having insurance means you're compensated in credits if your stuff is destroyed. Having warranty means you get the stuff back instead of credits, which matters if the thing you lost is hard to replace even if you had the credits. Warranty will be very rare in game (but is permanent for all pledged items), and ship warranty can be transferred to a different ship. Warranty does not infer insurance though; you will lose a ship if it has no insurance, even if it had warranty, although warranty on a lost ship allows you to recover it at a high price rather than it being permanently lost. This way pledged items are always recoverable, but you'll be punished for flying them without insurance

      I have not seen it confirmed that a warranty earned in game allows you to recover a ship lost without insurance (in contrast to a pledge store ship)

      @@overcast7221 You also can't recover your lost pledge ship without insurance.... if your insurance has lapsed on a pledge ship, you need to pay for the lapse period before it can be recovered.

      ​@@b34k97 Not true based on what they clarified on spectrum. If you dont have insurance there is an additional fee to reclaim the pledge store ship but it's not simply back-paying insurance.

    I am surprised that morale is as high as it is post CitCon this year. While I was disappointed that the 12 month goals of last year weren’t met, I don’t think the answer was to completely abandon communicating annual goals. I don’t want to see content that is 8 years away at CitCon anymore. I want to know what they think they can release in the next year. This felt like a huge step in the wrong direction capped off by Sq42 being 2 years out (again, again, again, again…).

      Why? 2024 proved out the tech and CIG has proven they can deliver. I’m more excited now than I ever have been. I don’t expect them to hit every target, if they did they wouldn’t be setting their sights high enough. Just my opinion.

Replication and hybridization is borked on 3.24.2 to the point that the game was completely unplayable over their biggest marketing weekend, the rejigged ATC system to push out cargo and elevators that consistently breaks so that you can’t access your hangar to get offworld, and meshing is barely working in the play test and evo environments and hasn’t demonstrated any of the promised improvements in terms of server stability and ai responsiveness.
      I don’t understand what delivery you are looking at, but we are clearly not playing the same game.

      by the time it comes out SQ42 graphics will be dated and they'll start another "upgrade" pass to give the BEST possible "current gen" experience for RTX5000 cards type quality pushing out the date to 2028

    It is my view that creating beautiful places, gameplay loops etc is now a piece of cake for CIG, and that they may be much further with all this than we all might think.
    The hold up to everything is developing fully all the underlying tech to support all of these players, and objects, many of them scripted, that will reside on server shards, and persist.
    It seems to me that as I play I am more likely facing bugs resulting from an inability to handle it all more than anything else.
    I relax and log out when I find myself faced with this. I am amazed by what CIG is doing, simply amazed.

    25:32 plus one. I’m loving that the vision is really in the line that I’d love to see and it was great to hear about proper plans for making an actual mmo.

    For the insurance Mike, I think you and Level both had a slight misunderstanding and I've seen you both say it in your summary videos. Insurance is what has 3 tiers while the Warranty is binary, you either have it or you don't.
    Anybody can just go out and buy insurance in game, at whatever tier they wish. If your ship is destroyed while you have insurance, it pays out money equivalent to the tiers you showed in your video. If you bought a ship with real money, it comes with chassis insurance (tier 1) for the time interval you paid for. Life time insurance means that your ship will forever have tier 1 insurance at no cost in-game (although you could always upgrade to higher tiers if you wish).
    A warranty is NOT something you can just go out and buy in-game. Warranties were described at Citcon as being difficult to acquire and rare enough that you would likely end up transferring the same warranty between your ships in-game. If you bought a ship with real money, the ship has a permanent warranty that cannot be transferred. If your ship is destroyed while you have insurance AND a warranty, then you get your ship back instead of a simple payout. If you have no insurance AND a warranty, you lose your ship with no payout, as a warranty only functions when combined with insurance.

      @@robertchandler2063 you cant if you've pledged you can get it back there is just a time loop, nobody wants a P2W game, ship respawn is resource dependent and even if you're lazy, the quanta will react to the market, so you end up in a queue, just because you have deep pockets shouldn't mean you win, lose your pledged Cap ship OK you'll get it back, but in 7 days when the resources are replenished, the outcomes of in game events cannot have a material impact on the state of the in game universe or it is P2W and nobody wants that, even the whales.

      @@Dekartz maybe the devs will finally realize the end-user(s) don't have one of their magic computers that this "game" runs on at home. I mean, hell, they see it every time they open up pre-PU content to testers. But, I'm sure that will go amiss. Most programmers are blind, the reason behind QA, and be all like... "doesn't happen on my system, the code I wrote is flawless and ALWAYS works!" (and yes, being facetious to make a point)

    Mike correction on the insurance stuff as you also misunderstood it during the stream. There is no warranty claim or warranty levels. There's just only insurance claim, but this has two types. Insurance only OR Insurance with Warranty. Insurance itself has 3 levels as described on your video. So you don't need a warranty to get paid for the upgraded components on an insurance level 3 claim, but if you have a warranty you get the ship + components instead of credits for their value minus wear and tear. I hope they give it to us in its existing configuration to save us from having to setup everything again as this is the reason I rarely put stuff in my ships at the moment

    For the "4.0 to 1.0" I wish CIG would have indicated if they plan to have a 5.0, 6.0, etc and what features are planned to be released in each phase (base building, death of a spaceman, item fabrication, etc).

    14:20 First of all, great job with CitCon, I watched all of it with you and LevelCap.
    As to the air leaving everyone's sails regarding the 2026 time frame for SQ42, I honestly felt... relief? lol
    CIG knows that this game is going to have biggest, most critical spotlight in gaming history on it when it launches (and rightfully so), and it seems like they are going to polish the heck out of it.
    Besides the obvious necessity for this, it also really helps in that it:
    1. Gives more time for the PU to catch up. They *NEED* to have 1.0 in a proper playable state when SQ42 hits, because that's where everyone will go as soon as the single-player game's credits roll.
    2. It gives more time to concurrently work on the OTHER two story arcs that follow SQ42: "Behind Enemy Lines" and the 3rd and final arc that is still unnamed. Hopefully this means that there would be less time in-between releases and maintaining the hype & continuing to bring people back to the PU following each release.
    3. Finally, it buys more time for CIG to at least showcase what's on the horizon for the near future. They need to be able to say, "Alright! SQ42 has launched and we've released 1.0 with five systems.... but guess what? We've got even more systems launching within the year, plus more more creatures, mechanics, science gameplay, FISHING, etc." It would keep us old timers invested and also help the new players feel like they've jumped into the game at the most exciting time.
    Anyway, great job as always!

    I personally like they did the sq42 playthrough raw. Like it shows they have something that works, even if it’s a bit unstable at the moment. Out of all the presentations it’s this kind of honesty I want more of from CiG

      Visuals on par with awesome. The flight model, hideous, everything was on complete rails, slow mo, soo anti climatic. Also the fps was also nothing special and overall and underwhelming showcase given the hype, time and MONEY.
      The cinematics were completely amazing. No arguing that. But the GAME in video GAME, eh, ... sus.

    I was so impressed by all the cool new things.
    Made me very excited but worried that it was like adding 3 new large games into the verse.
    We're probably talking about 5-10 years to have all of that done.
    Then a few more years to fix bugs and optimize.

    the amount of time sink compared to when i started is as if it is being designed for the bedridden, basement hidden, no-lifer gamers that have 24 hours a day available. i MAY get 1 to 2 hours a day IF I AM LUCKY, but i wont bother till it gets better. last i played was 15 minutes of 3.23 when it dropped... and nothing further. lets hope they expand their strategy to include those who want to play for fun and NOT for a living!

    The stations are actually one of the things I am least concerned about CIG pulling off. It doesnt really require any new tech or mechanics, beyond what they are already building for things like base building. It's just art asset production, which is not something CIG seem to struggle with.

    I might pick it up when it’s on sale after it’s been patched for a year or two I just don’t care about CRs passion project.

      That is the problem - regardless how good the visuals are, the game will never live up to the hype based on the amount of time it has taken. Two more years for developers to eat CIGs lunch. Games like Eve Online, No Mans Sky and Elite will only getting better and offer an experience vs a dream.

    Insurance wasn't explained correctly here.
    Warranty has to be earned in the game for any in-game purchased ship. You automatically have lv 1 warranty for life for any pledge store purchased ship. (This means you will never lose your real money ship)
    Insurance has to be purchased and renewed for any in-game purchased ship. Any pledge store purchased ship will provide insurance for its listed duration and then must be renewed in game.

    A note from what the clarification on insurance said:
    Insurance for in game ships will provide the in game credits worth of what was lost and not replace them (meaning you will have to go back and purchase, reinstall, and redecorate your ships if they are destroyed.
    However there will be in game earnable insurance that will replace the lost assets instead of providing credits of equal value.
    Insurance for pledged ships will provide level 1 coverage and you can increase it if desired, but the key difference from in game purchases, pledge ships will get the chassis, components, and decorations (if level 3) themselves instead of credits so you do not have to go back and buy them.
    I didn't see anything unfortunately about the insurance replacing your ships decoration back to where they were on you ship when it was lost. Meaning you will most likely have to redecorate if lost.

    I feel ya Mike, I want to play "that game" also. I think CIG is quite capable of delivering on most of it, as long as they can keep enough talent. My understanding in the game industry is that most devs only stay with one company for just a few years, but this project is so ambitious it's going to take a very long time.

    The patch also didnt remove Cargo Hauling rep reset/loss when abandoning mission - I had to abandon a mission due to elevator not working, then I lost all rep and Cargo Hauling missions tab dissapeared from contracts window, same as lawful salvage mission tab in previous patch (this hasnt been fixed to this day).
    I can hunt for panels with salvaging but my favourite loop, cargo h., is now gone for me.

      For real it’s needlessly over complicated as always with them. They have way too much scope/feature creep with this game. Should just be is it insured or not? You get your ship back and everything or get screwed. Done.

    - I hope the "starchitect" weighted POI scattering comes in sooner, rather than later, but I'd think that ironing out server meshing and issues that fall out of that will be the overriding focus from public PTU (_assuming_ 4.0 PTU drops before xmas 2024) right up to the middle of 2025 ... not to mention cargo refactor still needs fixing and master modes needs a helluva lot more work!
    - The contact / org uplift for Mobiglas feels like a candidate to go into PU sometime 2025, _maybe_ first half.
    - Squadron 42 - 2026 ... "Two more years!", but with a new date attached 🤣
    - The other stuff: mostly, eh. The idea an SC specific in-game campaign to earn [Star] Citizenship for a character seems pretty good, along with rounding out game loops, but these will take a distinct 2nd or 3rd place next to work on server meshing, so I wouldn't expect to hear too much about these until about this time next year, lol.

    Warranty = how you get things back. With you get stuff back. Without you get credit back. All of this is only if you have insurance.
    There are levels of insurance 1.2,3 as he described just semantics but it will reconfuse people .

      Looks like it yes. My feeling is that they were being disingenuous or misrepresented the state of the gameat last years Citcon when it was just needing polishing. To me it was clear there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.

    I was blown away by the depth they are planning, As an Old backer I knew it somewhere in the back of my mind. But when they presented it all I was blown away. I always thought Star Citizen is complex but I didn't expect the depth it went.

    When they showed large bases it got me thinking that CIG has the tech now to start developing much faster. They can create highly detailed maps now and populate them with all sorts of settlements and POIs with what looks like relative ease. So that got me pumped. Add in the crafting, trading, some classic MMO mission givers and we've got a game. Space stations definitely tempered that excitement. But if they can build space stations as easily as land bases, maybe it's not far off after all. The whole SEAL planetary defense system though I question. Seems like it'll decimate competing orgs that don't get the tokens

      It remains to be seen how devastating an advantage winning seal tokens will be. It will probably depend on how defensible bases are with their own shields/walls/turrets/etc.

    The more I look at what they showed concerning resource harvesting through structures like mining platforms and such, and item stats being impacted by resource quality, and even the way resources are slotted into the crafting process, AND the clarification that subsurface resources are finite, the more I am convinced that CIG is adopting the gathering/crafting system from Star Wars Galaxies. And I couldn't be happier.
    If this is the case, managing finite underground resources will come in the form of the location and concentration of resources being randomly relocated every 30 days. They won't actually be a depletable quantity, just only available at that concentration, at that quality at that location for a limited amount of time. When the cycle resets, to always be harvesting the most resources at the highest quality, players would need to move their harvesting installations after locating the newest high concentration deposits, be they on the same planet or moon, or on a different one completely.
    Or, one could keep the mining base in the same place and just roll with how the resource cycles pan out. Some cycles will be better than others and some cycles may not offer anything at all. The more harvesting bases an org has, even if left in the same place, the more efficient they will be. But getting the most at best quality will mean chasing the resources, so a lot of people will be moving their bases, which will in turn free up what might be a choice location for someone else's needs. Nobody will maintain control over the best sites for getting a given resource.
    One thing I will say that the harvesting installations in Star Citizen are massive compared to the ones in Star Wars Galaxies. They feel like real industrial installations. And we know that upkeep involves power and fuses. Fuses will surely cost credits. but it's better than just depositing credits into the installation. And power comes from generators placed in close proximity, which also will require fuses.
    In SWG, installations an houses took plots of land, and players had a limited number of plots. Harvesters and factories required power, but power came in the form of energy resources that could be slotted. Generators also consumed land plots. and they produced the energy resources. I niched down as an energy supplier, selling affordable energy resources which allowed players to dedicate plots that would have been used for generators to put down more harvesters or factories. It was quite lucrative because I didn't gouge my clients and so they not only kept coming back, but referred other clients to me.
    I still remember my first direct client. I met them in the Mos Eisley Cantina, we sat at a table and worked out the details of price and quantity, After filling his order, I contacted him when I saw him on and arranged delivery. He was not on Tatooine then, but he asked me to meet him at the Coronet Starport on Corellia. I took a transport there and we met as agreed. I delivered the goods and he paid me. And I took the money from that sale to purchase my first Fusion Ion Generator, as I knew that Radioactives were what really moved in the economy. Before long, I had replaced my wind and solar generators with Fusion Ions, and one client gifted me with a rare Base Extraction Rate 19 fusion Ion Generator. It was rare because a bug in the crafting calculation allowed them to be crafted, but after the bug was fixed, BER-18 was the best you could get. My character became rich, and I never had to gouge anyone to do it.
    I may not be able to be an energy supplier in SC, but I'm sure I'll find my niche.

    @SaltEMike slight update on insurance and warranty. they are separate entities that work together. Insurance level 1-3 is the monetary return on loss (UEC only), Warranty provides the physical components back. you can have warranty but no insurance but on ship loss you will have to pay to recover the items (like actual excess in insurance policies).
    Just insurance = monetary value returned
    Just Warrenty = pay a reduced rate to return components (not market rate but also not free)
    both = return of components
    Level 1 - 3 you got smack on and each level affects the above.
    im assuming you need the same level of insurance or higher than warranty or Level 1 insurace and level 3 warranty gets you the ship back but you have to pay a reduced amount for the rest of the stuff

    CIG was never short on promises. It’s hard to get amped for things like Pyro evo sneak peek when it was supposed to be in-hand years ago. If SQ42 is blockbuster quality, I’ll tolerate this last delay to 2026. After that they need to start delivering hand-over-fist.

    I'm with you Mike. I wanna play THAT game. I truly enjoyed watching you and streaming citizcon myself - but afterwards because of the broken servers and months/years away from stated content, I ended up installing/revisiting Star Field, just to fill the gap.

    I ordered a pc from alexander Pcs and should be getting it any day now . I hope I can get into the verse with out to many issues . I'm trying to keep my expectations low, so I'm not too disappointed. Got the drake cutter for 45 dollars , and that's all I plan on spending on this game for now!

    Insurance makes sense but some times we're just moving our fleet to a new location and claiming is the only way for multi ship movement. They need to add a way to "Transfer" ships to new locations. Right?

    I'm not sure the base building stuff, even the space stations, are as far off as you might think. If you look at the text on the bottom, some things during Citcon just said 'Work in Progress," some (like Genesis) said 'Work in Progress | Whitebox Assets," the Castra stuff said "Work in Progress | Pre-Production" and so on, but the space stations said "Work In progress | Greybox," which as we know means stuff is pretty well into active development. I think how soon we'll see them depends more on progress with the economic, resource gathering, and org management stuff necessary for creating them.

    I really couldn't follow the relationship between planetary defense shields and player owned space stations. What exactly do we as an org need to maintain control of in order to earn tokens to bid on shield resources?

      The SEAL Corporation had some wifi shield tech in Pyro to protect the miners that gave them the most resources in exchange for SEAL tokens blah blah they retconned a bunch of lore to give orgs end game gameplay

    It was a good presentation; it addressed a lot of the things I wanted them to, but it was also a lot of talk. We still don't have pyro even, so I'm skeptical that much of this will come in the next year or so. Also, another 2 years for SQ42 as a letdown; I was really hoping to see it by the end of next year.

    @SaltEMike I'm right there with you. What they showed us is exciting, BUT...CIG being CIG we know better. CIG has shown us this past year that they can't deliver on a scale that puts any of this in our hands in the near future. I would love to be proven wrong, as my faith in CIG and the SC project has soured. The fact that there is at least two more years of SQ42 development means that resources will continue to prioritize it over SC doesn't help things either.

I ask “hey is the burger I paid for done yet?”, and the cashier goes “No, your burger isnt even close to done yet, but guess what, check out this secret special burger we got coming in a couple months”… me: “does the burger have lettuce?” … CIG “ooo yesss!! The burger has lettuce and tomatoes what else do you want on a burger ? Bacon? Guess what ??!! This burger is gonna have bacon too can you believe it!!! “ … and they sell you the brochure for the special burger while your still waiting …………….

    I believe they will deliver everything discussed at CitizenCon, but as always, at CIG's pace. 1.0 maybe in 4 years with all that. Everything is actually feasible. As long as Server Meshing gets polished within 1 year maximum.

    The weather, swamps and the moving clouds were lovely. Star Citizen can not be a NPC-driven narrative experience. It's obviously heading towards mission-Conscription with an asset-grab of all private assets to Fund The Galactic War Effort.

    Before last years citcon, we didn’t think we Would ever see server meshing on player counts over 200.
    We have seen so much more!
    Large scale building and stations is a few years off and probably hinges off dynamic meshing which will start showing its face in 2025.

      We didn't? Server meshing was promised for ages, we were expecting it, and when it finally arrived it barely works and servers are still unstable junk. Most of the presented features in last years' citcon are still not here yet you are hyping yourself up for another feature that is prolly 4 years away and most likely will get scrapped in the end knowing CIG history (remember purchesable claims they removed from the shop? lol). I wish I had your levels of optimism.

    I thought warranty was forever for store pledged ships. And insurance was the different tier levels 1-3 bought in game after your insurance ran out from the pledge? Or am I wrong? Because Mike said it the other way that warranty has 3 tiers.

    My concern with base building, in space or on land, is what is going to stop an org or party from destroying your base and stealing everything you worked hard to develop. Unless your base is protected it could be pointless. Now if they allow players/orgs to break in and steal a percentage of your resources I am OK with that but I would hate to log in after being gone for a few days to find my base utterly destroyed.

    13:10 You mention that it feels like "the depths" feels far off, but I think it's worth mentioning that when distribution centres were first shown it was also powerpoint-style, but they released after a year.
    I think they can pull some of this stuff off in a reasonable time, given proper production focus.

    I play X4: Foundations while waiting all those years for SC to build the economy, base building, and all the stuff that's missing. It's all there in X4, but obviously it's not MMO, it's a single player, but still worth it while waiting for SC.

    Keep up the great work. Right now the Hopium is at a all time high. CitizenCon was a big success because no one is talking about the last year - CIG have continued the trend of over promise and underdeliver. There is a saying in investments. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. In this case we should take note because past performance is a gurantee of future performance. They presented a high level flashy dream with no detail and will leave it to the content creators to figure it out which has already started with the videos of how 1.0 is going to work. Last years CitizenCon the items presented looked achievable and hopeful. We saw what happened. The items now promised are literally out of this world . - Stay Salty

    For me, this is the most important citizencon that will ever happen. Because for once it feels like CIG finally drew a line in the sand and let everyone know exactly what star citizen is supposed to be. I'm not expecting any of the big stuff to come in for years but I walked away from citizencon thinking "I just saw the game that I pledged for. Now it's just a matter of time"

    I know how you feel.
    I'm as hyped as the next person for all the cool stuff we've seen on Citcon (first time for me), before coming back to the harsh reality of the here and now. Like you said, "I wanna play the game, not look at it". I pledged for Star Citizen 6 months ago and since then, I've experienced less than 2 weeks in total that the game on Live server was actual playable. I hope they will at least get it in a playable state before IAE. It's been 3.5 days marked as "Degraded Performances" since 3.24.2 went Live (with all of its known bugs) and for 3.5 days there hasn't been a single status update from CIG.
    The end of Citcon (the 1.0 vision) made it pretty clear they're just dreaming too big. Maybe even intentional. I do fear this is gonna be an excuse to just never release. I mean why would they wanna release? Normally it would be to start making money, but CIG proved that running an alpha can be a business model that works, so where's the motivation?
    Sorry I'm being negative here. I see the game's potential, I loved the demos we've been showed, and I really want to like (playing) this game. But my hopes in CIG are very low right now, and I'm not the first nor the last saying this.

    I think it would be cool for exploration gameplay to be added to have random anomalies you have to find and scan/track to gain info like either lore/ some in game info leading to some hidden treasure or items/location
