They should be driving players to testing it(and reward them with auec or something). Before 4.0 lands, they will need waaay more data. And its this very reason that makes me believe server meshing/4.0 is only coming next year
GTA 6 has a budget of $2 billion and it will only be set in a single fictional state that won't even be to scale. $700 million is not as much as you think for a large company and huge multi year spanning product that is at the scale of a galaxy with 1000s of full sized planets to explore while also being an MMO.
Remember when they used to brag about how since they weren't going with a publisher they were 4x more efficient than a normal game developer could be? Notice how the apologists now try to move the goalposts to suggest that CIG is still some plucky young startup that is starved for resources to excuse the alpha quality code in year 12 after they've blown past several delivery dates? Yeah, those people are sadly my only hope to get what I paid for in 2012 and that's only if they stay gullible enough to keep shovelling 300k per day in to this cash furnace for a few more years.
15:40 So I think that a fantastic rep mission would be to "Help a suffering Stormwhal". The mission would be to go to a suffering Stormwhal and extract the medical gowns and cruz bottles from it's mouth where the trash has become stuck preventing them from feeding. This could also actually be used to gather information for the economy... by basing this mission totally on the number of medical gowns and bottles tossed over the side of the various platforms. Chucking trash over the platforms within sight of Crusader security will get them to yell at you... you lose reputation. Then those who to to rescue the Stormwhals ... gain rep.

I feel like history is a pretty good indicator. When CIG has tech blockers they delay and rename patches. If server meshing was remotely close it is my opinion that they would not be delaying or renaming anything from 3.23. How long did they push the road to 4.0 before that campaign was quietly dropped. I feel like unless theres a breakthrough on meshing we will indeed see a 3.24.1 or a 3.25 patch rather than 4.0 let alone 1.0 that is a pipedream in this backers opinion.

To me the negative we are seeing right now is related to Chris Roberts lying on stage saying that SQ42 is feature complete and that most devs moved to development of the PU. If he would have his BIG LOUD MOUTH shut, we would`ve continue speculating about SQ42 release date (just as we are right now) and would actually be praising 3.23/3.24, for innovations and all the work they`ve been putting on it, yeah its broken, but it always been like that, the difference is that we were expecting an acceleration in development, but we are exactly the same as before, single patch a year.
I hope CIG introduce a lot of AI stuff to enhance development, and make general NPCs a lot more interesting, and ofc make them even more unpredictable. It can also fix player animations to be a lot smoother and realistic by training the models to interact accordingly to their surroundings.

No need to worry about bolts sticking into the wall. I can see cool graphics as the bolt charges in different ways for different types of projectiles.
I think that would ruin it. The only reason to have a crossbow in a game with all of these ballistic and energy weapons is for niche situations. Like there's some kind of dampening field that prevents energy weapons/electronics from working. Or you don't want to fire ballistics because you need silence. Or you need reusable ammo because there won't be any available for some time.
