Knees to chest (flexion) can in fact make your condition worse if there is an anterior disc bulge. The extension stretch (such as the cobra pose) addresses this.

I am so grateful I found this site..I started watching the glute exercises to help with knee pain and since strength ening and building my gluteal muscle the pain in my knee is now tolerable and I am able to continue working.I have shared this with my friends and work colleagues who have found the info informative and well presented .Easy to follow and a good speaker. We are nurses in NZ who have had degenerative back problems knee pain cervical strain so as we head towards retirement age we were getting a bit defeated and negative about our loss of movement stiffness and pain issues.Until we found your channel.Followed the correct exercises and stretches to regain our functional abilities .Thank you you're a star we will continue to follow your channel and subscribe Fiona ❤

    Thank you Dr. David.
Thankfully I don't have a herniated disc in my lower back but knowing this information will help me to direct others (that I know that do have this trouble), to your channel so they can get the help they need.
    Keep up the good work.
I have cervical spondylitis and Occipital neuritis that I've lived with since I was 12. I have sciatica trouble that I live with that has my whole body tingling. I thought it was due to a disorder I was born with called Acute Intermittent Hepatic Porphyria & it effects my whole central nervous system, but my pain Management Dr told me that it's my sciatica causing the trouble. I've had 2 sets of injections, the first helped right away, but the pain from the shots were very painful & the first set lasted just shy 1 month & someone else did the 2nd set that didn't help at all.
Thanks to you, I've learned about strengthening my glutes to get the relief I need. Both my husband and I are actively doing these exercises.
I have a hard time walking with my toes pointing out while walking & I catch myself laughing because I think I must look funny trying to walk this way, but I keep trying.
Thank you for all your efforts to help so many people with their physical pain.
    You're a blesding to so many❣
    God bless you ❣

Is ice or a cold shower on the back beneficial in the long term? Or only the short term?

    • @juliac.3632
      @juliac.3632 2 місяці тому

I would say the long term. I’ve been suffering with 3 herniated discs for over a year. I have been a massage therapist for 9 years now & work with 2 chiropractors & found the DX9000 decompression table by far has helped me the best. But even with traction tables like the Cox Technique help too you just need way more hours with ice to decrease the inflammation in than with the decompression. Hope that helps! & this was a lot of great examples in the video thank you Dr.

My Mother's knee MRI says -
"Mucoid degeneration of ACL with Ganglion cyst along femoral attachment. Mild joint effusion". Doctor says Osteoarthritis. But report says cartilage and Osteophytes as normal.
She has swelling, pain and stiffness from past 4 months in her right knee.
Could you please suggest as pert the report what it the issue is. In which direction should we go.
Whether it is Osteoarthritis or something else.
We will be very thankful to you, if you could guide us.
