Hi Armistice, we are very happy to help! There is so much information out there and often contradictory so it can be quite confusing. We are so happy to hear you found this information helpful and we appreciate you kind words. It means the world to us. Just in case you're interested, we have a cervical herniation playlist that you might also find helpful. You can access it here:
      “Cervical (Neck) Disc Herniation Help”
      ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbqKvMOYeNyP0sqAZr9XocN.html
Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not.
We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

This video in particular has been the one i needed most. I have a suspected herniation on my left side c3, c4. Its pretty high up, and ive been using many of your exercises already. Since starting the exercises i have gone from immobile to just localized pain as the muscles gain enough strength to stabilize the area. I am 38 years old, and am transitioning from construction and labour, to artist. My hours have increased from 8 hours a day of labour to 15 hour days of drawing. If it werent for your clear, simple explanations, with exercises i can actually work in as often as you have said is necessary, i would be laying down for 3 of 7 days a week. I now am drawing 13-15 hours a day with a morning physio routine before i start, and an alarm that goes off every hour and a half to do 3 of the sitting neck exercises. I look forward to the day when i can hike, and gold pan, and turn my head without pain while extended in the horizontal position. Thank you. My respect to physiotherapists and kinesiologist is extremely high. Thank you for putting these videos on the internet. I have gone to over 40 physiotherapy sessions for various injuries over the years, and have learned a great deal about my body and the muscular skeletal systems, but bring them home with a spotty memory has not been great for my long term care. These videos have become my mantra, and my healing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

@@epmanualphysicaltherapy I think we both understand how much of a difference you have and will continue to make in my life. My goal is too have the strength and mobility of my thirties all the way to my end of life, however short or long that may be. What I do not think you as a practitioners get, is enough feedback and appreciation for a truly transformative practice. The schooling required is daunting, and I don't think everyone understands the value of a good physiotherapists is equal to that of a surgeon. I just wish the pay would represent the impact on how many people are helped, rather than the prestige. I will send a print of one of my pieces to your clinic as soon as I have completed the process required.

I think I am in love with you!! At least your presentation of these exercises. Was hit by a semi doing 75 mph ……lots of herniated disc and other things. Trying really hard not to get surgery…..you and another PT have really helped me. The two pt’s I went to here in St.Louis had been doing very little to get me better. Chiropractor is sending me to an orthopedic doctor😳😳😳. Going to look a bit harder for someone as knowledgeable as you! Again thanks.

Thanks for the videos Dr! I have right middle finger and forearm numbness/tingling. My Dr said the MRI confirmed C7 disc herniation. also C5-C6 disc space narrowing. i'm going to PT. there are very few exerices that don't cause pain. chin retractions and shrugs cause the least amount of pain...but pain does come after 7-10th repetition. does one just stop there, and keep trying to see if the next day can result in another repetition/less pain-discomfort? or if minimal shrugs and chin retractions cause pain....is it just hopeless and probably need surgery? it was helpful when you explained in a previous video, that years of chiropractic work/and weights hanging off my head while laying on my back....probably caused neck muscles to be too strong which adds compression to my discs....while the shoulder muscles became weak at the same time. looking back, that makes sense and sorry i went to chiro.

      But
I had recently done the MRI of my knee, in the report everything was fine except one that was related to some suprapatellar fluid intensity
My doc suggested me to do quads, hamstring, calfs exercise but past then when i did those my knee was hurting so badly
But now when the report is clear what should i do ??? Because i am still feeling the pain on uppermost side of patella
      I really appreciate you ❤️ 💛

Is this safe to do for someone with two cervical cord compressions from bulging disks and central stenosis?

Hi Bill, We are so sorry to see that you are dealing with cervical cord compressions from a bulging disc along with central stenosis! We can only imagine the pain and frustration you have been through. We hope you can feel some relief soon.
Yes, the 5 must-try solutions for herniated neck disc pain should be fine to work with but it's important that if you are feeling any discomfort that you stop immediately.
We do have a couple of playlists that have the potential to help you with your situation. You can access them here:

Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Genuinely asking, in another video of yours, u stated that chin retractions are not a good exercice for herniated discs
So which video should i follow ?

    • @aoifemaireadniconchubhair5126
      @aoifemaireadniconchubhair5126 7 місяців тому +1

I had this same question, but when I watched the other video back it seems that the point was that chin retractions are a good exercise, but the thing you *shouldn't* do is force your chin back by pushing your chin with your fingers/hand, as this can make the movement a bit too aggressive.

Hey @inthemystery! The 28-day program can help with multiple disc herniations. A disclaimer is that the 28-day back program is designed for the lower back. This does not include the neck.
