    If you’ve ever had a marshmallow brownie I bet you’re hitting the Print Recipe button right now because they are GOOD! A rich chocolate brownie is topped with MOUNDS of marshmallowy fluff (you have to make your own, it’s easy and so tasty) then drizzled with more chocolate. I did a swirl but some people literally flood the top with ganache, there is no wrong way to go here. Anyhow You’re probably going to ant to double the batch as people will ask you to bring these to work/school/their house.
    I like a MOUNTAIN of fluff on my brownie but you can halve that part of the recipe for a less extravagant dessert.

    I made these twice and the second time they turned out great. It's important to use one teaspoon of salt (on his website he says two and that makes for very salty brownies). I used 3 eggs (as opposed to the two his website calls for). Finally, I melted one cup of the chocolate chips with the butter and then added the other cup to the batter.

      I wish his cookbook had way more recipes that was featured on his UA-cam channel. So many of these recipes from the channel are absolutely fabulous and there have not been many recipes (if any at all) featuring this channel that i just would not want to make. Great channel, awesome and I totally love the content he put here. these recipes and his explanation and the debt of them alone make his channel one of the best. I have learned so much from watching his channel and I appreciate all of his content here. Thanks John…

    The brownie recipe he makes w/ the chunks of chocolate is perfection. I've made it w/ some minor alterations, GF flour, 2 egg yolks replacing one egg, and a larger pan so they are thinner.
    I am trying to replicate a Mississippi mud pie I remember from a Cajun restaurant on the Upper East Side of Manhattan from the 1980s, but have been unable to get a real clear idea of exactly what they were doing back then. I remember it was a dense, heavy brownie-based recipe, w/ pockets of crunchiness, some gooey parts, and a chocolatey crust on top that was almost like a chocolate-dipped cone from Carvel. I do not believe it had any nuts, but instead something like a Crunch bar chocolate feature throughout. It was the absolute most perfect dessert I have ever had, and I have looked for it ever since.
    I just keep watching video after video trying to see if I can add something from this one and something from that one.
    I guess I am writing this in the hopes that someone can chime in w/ suggestions, or maybe remembers the same thing, or even someone KNOWS what I am trying to recreate.

    Looks delicious!

    • @kilroyscarnivalfl
      @kilroyscarnivalfl 5 років тому +4

      There seem to be several inconsistencies between the demo/narration and the printed recipe on the blog. Brownie: he used 4 eggs, recipe shows 2; he used 1tsp salt, recipe says 2. Marshmallow: print recipe omits any mention of the cream of tartar; video says 1/2 c water and 1/4 c corn syrup, while print says 2/3c water and 3T corn syrup; vanilla mentioned on video is not listed. Ganache: video says “almost a cup” of chocolate and “about a cup” is shown in video text superimposed, print recipe says 2/3 cup. I get it, the ganache you probably eyeballed. But the other measurements are possibly just errors?

    I made the marshmallow fluff last night and it was so thick, creamy and shiny. It tasted amazing. I put it into canning jars and left them on the counter. Today they have separated. There is a liquid at the bottom of the jar. When I mixed one jar it came together, but was runny. What did I do wrong John? I love your channel and recipes so that’s why I chose to go with your recipe. I beat it until it was cooled.

    I really like your videos. This looks so delicious! I want to try this (and pretty much all your recipes!). I wondered if sometime you could show how to make basic chocolate fudge (like the old fashioned kind...not the type that has marshmallow cream in it). I have tried a few times it just never hardens. Really enjoy your channel!
