The Stern, Rudder, and Aft Deck have been installed. now to cap the units and flood the dock so Big E can be moved and Miller can have their keel laying.
Steel from cvn65 is being recycled into cvn80. The new Big E is literally being built from the bones of the old. Also, cvn65 had porthole windows from cv6 in the captain's cabin, if i recall. Hopefully, they will save those and install them in cvn80.
All of the CVN 6 parts that were on CVN 65 were saved including the captains desk I believe and are all to be used on cvn 80. The Grey Ghost will live on again.
americas greatest defender. haven't felt quite right with the way the world has been going especially since Enterprise isn't holding the watch at the moment. c'mon Huntington get her out there.
Hopefully the new design has a way to get them out when they're decommissioned one day? They don't know how to get the reactors out of of any of the aircraft carriers that are being decommissioned. It will blow your mind on how much they think it's going to cost to build a special facility just to get them out.🤯 Look it up, you wouldn't believe me if I told you!?!
@@-C.S.R They know how to get them out, they will rip the guts out of the ship to get the reactors out, it's why decommissioned nuclear powered aircraft carriers are only fit for scrapping and not preservation like older ships
Well if I can remember correctly a majority of parts from CVN-65 will be used to construct this ship meaning money saving and the build process to boost up a bit faster. So I’d say maybe late 2025
@@zetaopress2389 Some parts from CVN-65 will be used in CVN-80, but only objects of historic value such as some parts that were originally used in CV-6 Enterprise, removed when she was scrapped and installed in CVN-65 when she was being built. IIRC those would be things like portholes/deadlights, not certain what all would be used except that very little of the CVN-65 would be usable in a new design Ford class carrier, there would be compatibility issues for one thing plus components from the older ship are likely to be worn or not nearly as strong as they would need to be.
Anytime between November 2025 and probably May 2026, November is when the navy has said they are aiming to have her launched, so my guess is add on 6 months to give leeway for time overrun
Good to see the "Enterprise " name being used again. 😀
No kidding. They'll use such name until Captain James T Kirk assumes the bridge!
I miss the previous one. I cried when I found out that it is no longer 😭
Hope they play the Star Trek theme when she launches
Let's make sure, that history never forgets the name Enterprise! Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Build her true guys, she's got one hell of a legacy to live up to.
And I'm not talking about star trek either.
its not even the 23rd century yet and history will never forget the name Enterprise.
She needs to be a proper replace of CVN-65 but the priority is that she needs to live up to the original one.
Never ceases to amaze me how huge ships are built. Love the videos!
About time we get an update on cvn-80.

"My god, that's a big ship."
"Not so big as her captain, I think."
Shout out from the USS 'Bad Brad' Bradley FF-1041, which allowed me to visit the Enterprise in the early 80s. GO NAVY!!
10 years on Enterprise CVN-65. 37 years since I walked her decks. Looking forward to walking the decks of CVN-80 when commissioned.
I can’t wait to see the name of the most famous Enterprise name plate on her stern, only a matter of time

The First, The Finest.
Make it 100 000 kilometers long! It has a legacy to live up to and a technological revolution to make.
(CVN-65) USS ENTERPRISE always in our hearts.
드디어 CVN-80 밑바닥이 다 완성 되어 가는군요 빨리 나오길 기대합니다.❤❤❤
Cv6- cvn65- cvn80.🇺🇲💯👍⚓️
CVN-80 will become the 8th ship to carry the name Enterprise for the American Navy starting with the Continental Navy.
Actually according to the National Archives, CVN-80 will be the 9th Enterprise.
Awesome absolutely awesome!!! Go Navy!!!
I am looking forward to NCC-1701 USS ENTERPRISE.
Never gonna happen. William Shatner is to old to captain her. LOL
I'm looking to USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E
USA siempre a la vanguardia.
Guessing the areas that are higher than the rest of the ship and done so you can't see much about them (so far) are reactor rooms.
Interesting. I assume the big squares at 0:45 and 1:00 are the reactors?
I'd assume so. Why blur them otherwise?
Hopefully the new design has a way to get them out when they're decommissioned one day?

❤❤❤😊
Does anyone have a guess on launch date?

They'll still be able to get the parts even though they can't get the reactors out?
