No more 8:00 classes? Why #MOOCs still matter: Active Learning, Self Pacing, Instant Feedback, Gamification, Peer Learning and the Education of the Future.
edX is the future of education. I don't say that only now when I've watched this, I've said this the same day I discovered the edX site and MOOCs. I just don't understand how did humanity manage to keep education on the same level on which it was centuries ago, yet make some other unimportant and lame things (for example - reality shows) evolve and get popular so quickly.
As I have been participating in many MOOCs platforms recently, I think this guy is overtly optimistic. On one hand, MOOCs have achieved some worthy goals: they make top educational resources available for free or for very low prices, to people who wouldn’t have access to them otherwise, including unpredictable schedules, and international audiences. On the other hand, MOOC enrollment has soared, but completion rates are abysmal. The other major problem is that MOOCs tend to be set up in a way that minimizes frustration for students (who might drop out at any moment). There often aren’t pop quizzes or the kinds of challenges that can alienate students in traditional settings. The problem here is that easy learning does not make good learning. Also I think MOOCs still can't provide a substitute for the human interactions experienced in a conventional classrooms.
I have taken Circuits and Electronics Courses as part of my communication engineering culriculm in university, but I really to take the C&E course in edX.

Thank Mr.Anant , you proved that you had a shart long term vision, now blended learning is not a option due to the pandemic.

@Yugesh I completely agree with you. The learner is responsible for himself/herself.
