Not all of Peter’s daughters are Mayday. This one is just May. Renew Your Vows has Annie May. MC2 is Mayday. Mayday was born in 616, but was killed by Norman Osborn during the Clone Saga. MC2 branches off from that with Kaine saving her before she is killed. In a Spider-Girls crossover, it was also acknowledged that Mayday was killed in the Renew Your Vows universe as well and that Mayday would have been her older sister if she didn’t. The daughter that Mephisto fears and prevented is presumably either Annie or May, as Mayday was already born and killed by Norman. The daughter also has red hair, like Annie and May.
I love so much about this new Spidey run. Really enjoying Harry's goblin suit, it's kind of like a hybrid of the metallic look from raimi's movies met in the middle with the og comics. Very nice!
The great things about this comic are May helping Peter with his costume before they have a wholesome father-daughter time moment by swinging around New York, Peter helping Uncle Ben J. Jonah Jameson with their office, and Peter and Harry defeating Bullseye before revealing their identities to each other. Hope the next issue includes them and their wives knowing their husbands’ identities and having a nice time because this comic is great. Also, bold for Marvel lot release ASM and USM on the same day so that is Spider-Man fans can compare the two comics.
Really liking this. I hope that they aren't setting up Harry to turn evil. We've seen it so many times. If this title can literally keep things fresh, I think every decision they have made so far is appropriately amazing! Over time, I hope that we actually do get to see Peter use every single suggested design that May "rejected", as they are great redesigns inspired by things before. This is the Spider-Man we needed i liked how the suit is able to change it's looks leading to the classic red and blue and having his daughter helped make it more colorful is a nice touch

feels a little rushed to me like they need to get spiderman to a place we can recognize him to balance out the changes i know its part of the world healing but how this peter became spiderman didnt feel organic at all but i think thats all just a side effect of this universes concept and maybe after a bit things will slow down all feel more natural

Issue 3 and he's already in his exact same suit as always? Not going to lie, I wanted this to feel different. I was really interested in his black Stark suit. I hope he doesn't get rid of it, and I hope it starts to show signs of being a bad thing like the black suit always is. Maybe the nanotech becomes sentient and we get an AI Venom? That's what I hope. Really hope they don't just turn this into a second Spider-Man book that's exactly like normal Spider-Man.
I hear a lot of people saying that Marvel should get Pete out of high school but I have another idea. How about a story with dual timelines? Think Greta Gerwig's Little Women. The high school years could be bright and happy and the adult years more dreary as Pete reminisces on his early years with nostalgia. We can still have happily married Pete and MJ but with cracks under the surface like Daniel's family life in Cobra Kai or The Incredibles.
I know Harry had no malicious intention, or at least i don't think he did, but that was just soooo uncool and a complete violation of privacy like he did that then nonchalantly acts all buddy buddy with him like bro where do you get off who the heck you think you are you are not Batman you can't get away with that sort of violation
i absolutely hate the inclusion so early of people close to peter knowing his secret, its so lazy its not interesting it actively saps drama from the story in favour of short term character moments like him and his daughter making a suit together and swinging around, it feels safe, it feels fake, it doesnt feel like spiderman, why does everyone hate the idea of a secret identity nowadays, is it just so unimportant characters are substantiated with a faux sense of agency in the story by finding out so that their overbearing presence in the story feels less forced? as soon as i found out spidey was going to have a kid(s) in this story i knew it was going to fall victim to story beats and writing trends like this, but i didnt expect peters secret, the one thing that makes him special and separates him from everyone else in the story to be IMMEDIETELY discovered by everyone close to him just so in 20 issues we can have a "sPiDeR-FaMiLY" this run is a wash just stop reading spidey comics at this point its over.
Nowadays the idea of having a secret identity you keep a secret from your loved ones is not seen in the same light as it was in the past. Nowadays it is seen as kinda scummy to do, and in general is just seen as something to put in for pointless drama in the story.

Don't get me wrong it makes sense to hide your identity from your enemies, that makes sense and isn't seen as douchey. But sneaking around and lying to your loved ones about it is not seen in the same light today. From what I have seen of people talking about superhero secret identities is that they are kinda tired of that concept and to them the idea just seems like a tool for creating bad melodrama. Lying to your loved ones about something major nowadays is not seen as something good people do.
