I'm brand new to the game. My two brothers and I all bought it on sale a few days ago. As of writing this I have 15 hours in the game and am level 40 something in blood line. It took 3 games to get out of the level 11 rookie phase. Those were the most fun games I had in the game. People were our skill level. Now we are MMR 3 and 4. We get into games with people who have 1000s of hours in the game. It seems like MMR 1 and 2 are not even used. I think it was my 7th game when we got matched against a prestige 100, level 100. The game is insanely addicting. We are about 50/50 in matches. We either get absolutely stomped or we manage to make some great kills. No in between. I almost refunded the game in training. The weird FOV zoom crap and aiming options that aren't explained. I had to google to sort it out. I'm glad I stuck with it because I'm addicted. The only thing that would make this game more fun is if I wasn't playing against super sweat high tier players ALL the time. Plenty of reddit threads on MMR. Most are on one side of it or the other. A lot of players probably quit this game due to the ranking system not filtering out high tier stuff. At minimum it should give a warning that you're matched with MMR 4/5 or higher tier players. Maybe even a XP bonus for being in those matches, even if you die. You are basically cannon fodder at times. I adapted my play style to work with it. I have fun. Just know that some people probably don't bother putting hours in when they are new due to this gap.
You've basically explained my entire experience with this game....only I'm the guy that did give up. None of my friends play the game so I'm doing everything solo. Overwhelmed would be an understatement. I want to find someone to show me the ropes and let me tag along for a few rounds.
Some good advice, never peek same corner twice, listen for shotguns, and always keep an ear out, everything makes sound, even crouched hunters. You can hear a breath then people aim down sights, switch equipment, melee, jump, and walk
I would consider myself to be pretty good at hunt as I usually hover around 5 or 6 star mmr but I completely share your thoughts on the fact that the game is too sweaty to enjoy sometimes. A lot of people would say if you want a more casual experience then play quick play, but the devs seem to have kept the mmr system engaged in QP whilst simultaneously disengaging skill based/mmr based matchmaking which makes no sense at all and results in more camping and de-ranking for stupid reasons. I like the competitiveness of hunt but sometimes I just wanna play and chill rather than worrying about my rank going down.
The Hunt community is not big enough for we’re liable match making so you will be in matches with insanely highly ranked individuals;however, many of the “insane” players have used the retire option and are not as “insane” as they seem
Honestly love the game for how balanced it is. A lot of time it comes down to just skill. When I die I can always attribute it to something I did wrong. I just started yesterday and it’s been super addicting.
This guide is insanely detailed! Thank you so much for this. Im a new player and have watched multiple guides from others but this one in particular covers so many smaller details and nuances that I haven't heard from the other guides.
VEry Thorough, I wish I had listened to this before starting... I listened to this and still got a few reminders and a couple of tricks I will try.,, Thank you!
This is the best review I have ever watched for any game. The amount of detail and how comprehensive the review is shocking from such a small channel and I am surprised you not bigger. You have my subscription.
Just bought this game last week because I kept hearing great things about just to hit a roadblock dying during the advanced tutorial 😂😂 thanks for the vid
great and well made video. i learnt a lot from this as a beginner myself. thanks for making this. note to other beginners watching this: this video is 39 mins long but trust me its well worth your time if you want to get into the basics of the game and wanting to get good at the game instantly.
i will make 1 correction, the double clue locations only lock off access to the 2nd clue if the area falls outside of the bounty area's active search, or the boss is there. if the location is still within the search area, you can get the 2nd clue. there are usually 3 locations on a map that have double clues. Stillwater Bayou: Blanchett Graves, Port Reeker, Healing Waters Church Lawson Delta: Fort Carmick, Nichol's Prison, Lawson Station DeSalle: Pelican Island Prison, First Testimonial Church, Weeping Stone Mill
@@HossNelsterGaming its something that isnt always readily apparent, and to some hunters thats just something they don't learn in many hours of playing. I'm glad to share the hunt knowledge i have with others so we can all collectively step up our game. I had recently gotten my old college dorm mate into hunt and your video really helped him wrap his head around the game. I hope to see you around the bayou, and may the winds of fortune favor each of us.
So The thing I recently got to know about Choke Bombs- they instakill Immolators. I learned that by accident because I thought a Choke Bomb was a different bomb and I threw it at an Immolator and it killed it instantly
It's basically the harder version of the king of hill game and the combat is basically like the cat and mouse game (which if no body knows what the cat and mouse game is it's when 2 snipers are going against each other waiting for one of them to make a mistake which then creates an opportunity for the other one)

There is so much wrong information sorry but 100h of gameplay is not enough to set up a Guide for new Players cause your a new player yourself. In the Huntcommunity you count till 300h as a new player and even after 2k+ hours you still learn stuff. Max Players per Map 12 -> so if your loadingbar is not runing through you have in 95% 12 Players on the map. Conduit is one of the worsed skills to get. the defence traits are c-d tir so you wont focus on them -> Greyhound -> Lightfood -> Gatorlegs -> Determination highly recomended set for travel fast over the map this are A and S tir traits you have to think about your set if a trait is to situational you dont take it. you dont have to use the baseversion of a weapon to unlock stuff it works on all weapons from the weaponsfamaly. this is after 8 minuts of viewing i stop here i i had to wright a book
Be sure to watch the update to the guide: ua-cam.com/video/o54vClpmFQ0/v-deo.html
Really strong overview of Hunt: Showdown. Thanks for taking the time to make this.
Thanks!

I learned a few things from this, thanks! Goes to show that you can pick up most of the basics playing with others, but not all the finer points.

soooo good dude! thanks from us all. have a great day! ✌️❤️🔥

Woah that's pretty cool
Awesome video. I am about to start playing hunt because it looks like what I want. I have played PC games in able 10-12 years so this might be a shock
Nice, ty for the vid
amazing video mate
Holy fuck this is good guide. I got the game 2 days ago.
You still playing it?
@@0p32 yeah i got 20-40hours and its an amazing game. I even make good plays with shotguns
@@grga1vk nice. I'm happy more new players are joining and not quiting. This game deserves the players
Yup. Its not boring pvp where you rush people and die or kill everyone. You have objectives and u need to play strategically
@@grga1vk yup. Also use the sparks. It's such a steal for its price. Does 149 damage
This game is a great representation of both 1895 Louisiana and 2023 florida

Damn cuh, I'd have to return Dying Light complete edition, Ghost Runner, and Grounded in order to buy this game. Doesn't seem like a good trade.
I would say Hunt is an "acquired taste" and hard to get into. And the 2 hour return policy on steam is not really enough time to get to know the game.
For a point of reference, could you tell us your KD. I know KD doesn't usually matter, but it does play a factor if it is on the low-end.
v informative
Youre supposed to collet the coins and pass them off onto othera.
Are you guys doing this irl to?
