Im not saying you're wrong at all about the service intervals, but i have an '85 250R that's been running the same piston since 2001, with the same clutch, and the oil in the transmission has been changed maybe twice in that time. Basically it's a ticking time bomb. But it runs so good I can't bring myself to take it apart lol
I had an 84 R that was all dem, never been cracked open. first kick starts, perfect smoke rings out the pipe. One season on the track and that was all up in smoke.. general riding these things can last decades, soon as they are raced though it's all over with. My 86 R I hadn't touched till after the first race season. rode that thing almost every day for 10 years, then one season on the track and it needed rebuilt. Something about the racing aspect that will destroy an engine.
@@EkonRekon any time I’ve seen atf used on the Mx track the trans blew apart either there or shortly after. Not enough viscosity to protect parts. Fluid shouldn’t affect clutch pull.
cool stuff dude
Real good info. Very nice build. All this rain from Helene, I think I will do a couple oil changes today, drink some beer, and rev them up! 🤣
@@ryanmckenzie8665 yeah, I moved the trikes into the conex and shut it up. Probably be a streaming day on the gaming page

Should have it finished today can send a video of it still waiting on the seat though
@@DavidWilliams-dv8ii a running vid would be cool, will make it a short and link this vid to it.
I always run type f transmission fluid. Yamaha go from notchy to smooth as a Suzuki or Honda
