Acoustic Guitar Binding didn't work...Plan "B"

- When the acoustic guitar binding didn't work it was on to plan "B". It is annoying when you learn there is not enough wood just when one needs it. The solution is to bend new binding and make it work.

Love your videos! I've always wondered watching you and many other luthiers on UA-cam, there seems to be only two ways of bending wood for luthiers, either this machine or a bending iron, but anytime other woodworkers want to bend wood they most often use a steam box. Why don't luthiers ever use a steam box?
I think it is because of the size of the box and where to put it.
Stuff like that happens to me allllll the time! Lol 😂 Sometimes plan-B’s work out better anyway hahaha

Way to work yourself out of a bind Monte! Sometimes plan B is Better. Stay flexible in life and whatever plan you end up with will work... but you knew that!

Hi Monty, to bend the wood this time you are just using only heat? You don’t need water at all to moisten it first? Also, looks like you might have a new favorite tea mug?
Yes, David I do like the mug. I'm going to change the logo a bit and them I'll put it on a mug. lol. I did spray the wood with some Supersoft before closing the aluminum foil around it.

Sometimes plan B works out better than plan A! That's kind of the joy of woodworking and luthiery. Hmm, I can't do that like I planned... time to get creative.
...and I believe there is ALWAYS a "workaround" if one keeps looking for it.
