Acoustic Guitar Armrest is Screwed
Вставка

- This video features our acoustic guitar armrest having the upper binding screwed in place and hit with CA glue. It is a fun video but when the screws go into the top of the guitar I still get nervous.
We have a "Tea with Monty" episode next week so please send your questions regarding the acoustic guitar building process or whatever is on your mind to the address indicated below. Thanks so much.

Getting clever with that title and I like it.
See.... you can teach an old dog new tricks..... LOL.... What a great dad...
Pointy things aimed at the top make me so nervous! I blew a sigh of relief, too. Purists might raise their eyebrows at the screws, but heck - it gets the job done and will never be seen. Simple and quick solution!
Kurt, it works great! lol
Thank you for showing us how you do this. I will probably never do a beveled edge, but I wanted to see the super glue tacking method done in real time. Every other UA-cam tutorial is very rushed - and this step is the one that you DO NOT want to rush! One slip and you will essentially route off the top!
Yes, and even with jigs I had a little problem. It's all good now.
CLICKBAIT! CLICKBAIT! CLICKBAIT! ...and i love it lol
Actually, I didn't think hit was given the picture of the screws. lol
I panicked 10minutes to realize this was a tricky title lol
I'm sorry!
I like the overhead shots of the guitar. Really gives a great perspective of the project as its going on. Thanks for the great video Monty!
Thanks for your encouragement.
I have to be honest, I was nervous watching you screw the arm rest. Glad it worked.
I'm always nervous doing that. lol
I like the cheeky pun in the title. Another great video Monte ☺️
thank you so much.
Screws? I kept thinking please don’t split, please don’t split as you were screwing those in. I had a sinking feeling that something had gone wrong and the play on the title really meant something went wrong. Glad to see my worry was over nothing!
Well it did lift the top a tad but I fixed that. Still one needs to be careful. lol
Coming along quite nicely Mr. McKinnon! The most intricate details are, IMO, what makes something have higher quality and value (perceived or otherwise)! Cheers. 😊
Thanks Pete.
Thank you for the great video!
Thanks for watching!
Cool play on words. You're learning. Good!
I thought the picture in the thumbnail was a giveaway. lol
Monty! Please don't scare me like that! I saw the title and thought something went wrong. You almost gave me a heart attack!
Well, I do have a little problem...but I can fix it.
I hope you can tell us about it so we can all learn from it.
Cheers Monty, Most Welcome
Thank you!
I actually checked the comments first since I did not want to see you fail haha. I am glad you didn't.
Oh that's funny. lol
I have made a few guitars but never an acoustic, I am watching with interest just subscribed! Can't beat a good cup of tea but Irish tea is better!!
John, I do Irish tea in the evening. lol
@@MontyMcKinnon good stuff!
What was the thickness like on that CA Glue??? Viscosity wise... was it ultra thin or like a medium thick?
Ultra thin Michael. It wicks like water.
Can’t believe you screwed it up! ;-)
Ya, it's works well though.
thank you
Welcome!
That is interesting. I don't have a arm rest on my guitars.
Mondays video shows carving the armrest.
@@MontyMcKinnon does every acoustic guitar have a arm rest.
@@patrickdougan4066 no, not all of hem, armrest are pretty rare on acoustic guitars.

It's always great to be number 1. lol
