Just gave my 67 to my 16 yr old son last year for his birthday, that 64 would look nice in my garage next to my son’s
Maybe pull the bumpers off the Beetle, and refit 'em, when you unload at the other end?

Try the Beetle in front, the V-nose of the trailer will fit the curve of the Beetle front end better, and the 700's square rear end will fit better against the door of the trailer.

There also a plastic "bushing" on the shift rod..the small plate on front comes off undo shifter under back seat ..remove shifter and pull shift rod forward and replace that bushing ...makes shifting smooth as butter

I love the BMW my first car was a 65 beetle I got at 13 (47 now/ painted gmh midnight blue and old skool slammed was so much fun I have a type 3 fastback and notchback both 65,s fastback is slammed with cookie cutters off the road due to bad health but hope to get them going again if I get better at the very least I've preserved them for someone else just recently got a mk 6 golf r murderd out that I love cool 😎 channel mate cheers 🤟

Listening to you talk about the length of Polos etc, I assumed my MK1 Swallowtail Golf was smaller than my beetle cos it was a hatch.. turns out it was about 15cm longer haha

Beetles are difficult to get into 1st gear because 1st has no synchros. Since 2nd gear does, when at a stop, shift to 2nd then to 1st and you'll have zero issues especially since you've already done the quick shifter alignment.
61 and newer bugs had full sychro trans
Yes 1960 and older split case trans have a un synchronized first gear
