Hi Cori, still creating more ARTISTICALLY TALLENTED INSPIRATIONAL ITEMS than I could have EVER imagined on a UA-cam channel. I had 3 smallish reference journals created 1 year ago. UA-cam recommended this video to me and thought well, it looks like something I have already watched but I wwaaaasssss SO WRONG! This is fantastic and I have been hoarding some Tim Holtz paper wondering what am I going to make? Well sister, you have helped me with my endeavor! Love the patchwork type cover! I never use corrugated card, Amazon chipboard envelopes are my go to. I love tyvek for covers and spines! What a cute mitre tool! Lol I got a glue eraser because I'm constantly getting glue where I don't want it. Tfs 💖
You are so good at explaining. I've done this for a few years but I have picked up quite a few great ideas from you. I bought, mid-video, the corner miter tool. Lol. Thanks. Keep on making videos!
You are going to love that tool! It works with fabric as well (at least thinner fabric.... I haven't tried canvas as I tend to leave those edges raw). Happy creating :)
Just starting to go through these videos and I have to say this is one of the best I’ve seen for instructions and quality for what I like. Can’t wait to create my first book. So many ideas! And I love that custom wooden box holding your glue stick, glue bottle etc. on the side, you don’t happen to have a video that shows that close up do you? I would love to have my son-in-law try to make one for me, unless it was something you purchased. It’s just perfect and I love organization. That’s why I like your videos as well, some are just chaotic and stuff is everywhere where yours are not. Thank you for the instructions!
You're welcome and yes, I make those. I shared my process and I believe that video is in the middle of the flips, flaps and folds videos. Pretty sure "ink box" is in the title. Thank you and happy creating!

Thank you for all the tips Cori! I love, love your videos, you’re very thorough in how you explain! Thank You. That brown linen looks amazing as the spine. Thanks for taking your time on Fathers Day to do these 2 videos. You’re fabulous 😎 ! Thank You 🙏🏻
Cori, I am so glad you mentioned Heat N Bond. I thought I was the only person that used it in my paper crafting. I use it when making anything with fabric but I have started using it when I’m mass making journaling cards and larger tags. It is way cheaper that some of the better glues we use and I get a much nicer, flatter piece.
My honey works in carpentry construction, I am forever adding patches inside 3 corner tears with Heat n Bond tape. I literally keep a kit (zipper envelope) with tan flannel for his khakis, Heat n bond, pins and just grab the iron, scissors and my wool mat. I hadn't thought if using it with paper, but I am now!
Finally started my own journal. Instructions are great!!! Thank you so much. So my covers are completed and ready for the next step...getting ready to move on. I am so excited!!
Mucho gracias, shay shay, Thank you for these tutorials. I binged on all of them. Took notes. Replayed. Now starting over.... Awesome tutorial - you are so good at explaining the process, really appreciate it! Now I just have to start making the cover of the "Scrap Buster Idea Book" - I'm looking forward to it. Hugs from Helen

Hi, I am new here. Love how you differentiate even outside of the classroom (9:40). You have many videos and I have already watched a few. Do you have one where you show how you make the surface of your paper ephemera shiny, almost plastic looking? Enjoy summer! Nvm, I found it. It's nuvo crystal glaze. Thanks!
Hello Helene, welcome and thank you. I think I’ve got in the habit of differentiating instruction so now I do it automatically 😊 That Nuvo glaze is my favorite for a bit extra.
thanks for sharing, I'm just confused as to why the white will show on the outside of the spine...it is a problem for me to actually envision a pattern or process that I cannot reason through...so I'm hoping can figure this out...excited to try though...thanks again.
So helpful! I’m very new to this. I’ve been a card-maker and scrapbooked for years but this is so neat! I’ve watched hundreds of UA-cam videos. Where can you get the tyvek???
Hello and welcome! I also scrapbook and make cards... well, occasionally :) I bought my tyvek envelopes from Amazon a few years ago. They were spendy, but very sturdy and have many uses.
Do you use paper from the same collection or are they really scapes for anywhere? They all go together so well...or is it that you just buy the same color all the time...I love the color some journals are too bright for me. I love the look, feel and smell of coffee dyed paper, so most of the time I choose paper that works with coffee dyed items. I think that is why most pieces work together. And thank you for the kind comments. I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying the videos.
Hello Cori, I wanted to let you know that I love watching your videos. There is so much to pull from. I was wondering how would I buy one of your scrap Buster journals? I can’t find your Etsy store or any link

Sure! Art Glitter Glue is a brand. It sells in the US and I know some of my Canadian friends have it as well. Many folks take the big bottle of glue and fill the tiny, clear Darice (and other brand) fine tip bottles. For a lot of people, it is easier to hold and store the little bottles for daily use. The Art Glitter Glue is a water-based, thick-ish, tacky glue. It holds well, dries clear and is the preferred brand by many. Some paper crafters prefer a book-binding, PVA glue, some like the Barely there glue, some Art Gliuiutter, some Reptile, and others like the Tim Holtz collage medium. Lots of choices and there is something for most preferences.
(Saying this sheepishly) there probably isn't a difference for most people. In my mind they are different, though they are used in similar ways. My clusters are generally made with thinner bits of paper, layered up, glued, then sewn and pieces are added in steps. The button spots are always rectangular or square, have one piece of fabric or paper then have lace and a button or three. Similar, but different. At least in my small brain :)
While you were scoring the spine you used a term I do not know. I don't even know how to spell it. (sorry) after 42 :36 you said "notice I did not miter these" Can you please help me
A mitered corner is a neat way of finishing the corner of a fabric edge in such a way that there is no bulk in the corners when the fabric is turned under to finish the edges. (It’s a similar idea with anything that would have a bulky corner if left uncut)
This is not a criticism so much as a suggestion. When you talk and are showing us items you move the items around a lot. You shake them and flip them and they are constantly in motion. Could you consider holding them still a bit more. I find it difficult to watch and also somewhat unsettling. Don’t know if this is of any help to you. Perhaps there are other viewers that feel the same. I like your content very much and you are incredibly talented.
Cori, your work is lovely, and I love what you do, but OMG, you talk a lot, girl! You mentioned the outer covers at 6-1/4" 5 times in 6 minutes (lol). You have such nice ideas. And you didn't use Heat N Bond, but you certainly talked about it long enough, how to use it, what do to, etc. You didn't use it, so why talk about it for so long...don't get your feelers hurt, I'm hopefully just offering tips when you film, I don't mean to be offensive or anything, so please don't take it that way. I love watching your ideas.
I always appreciate constructive criticism, so no hard feelings here. I know there is always more than one way to do something, hence the sharing different ideas and approaches. I douse heat and bond and/or wonder under for this project, but again, options. I've been told that when I say something once it can be missed, that I need to repeat myself. I'm a definite work in progress and I can always learn a new way to share information!
I do have a mix of viewers and try to keep both new comers and long-time crafters in mind. Since this is an idea book, I thought explaining each item might be the most helpful.
When I show someone my craft room this book is the star! It was wonderful to follow along and make this and it truly amazes everyone who sees it. Thank you so much Cori!

I used 16 actual pages in this book, so 32 sided.
can you pls explain what art glitter glue actually is...I can't find it....I see the small bottles and nozzle would be great....

Cori, what is the difference between a button spot and a cluster? Thank you.
@@CoriDahmen Thanks Cori, love your videos,
How do you sew in the signatures on the sewing machine.?
I will show you that later today! It really is pretty straightforward. It just takes a few steps.
thank you for your reply
While you were scoring the spine you used a term I do not know. I don't even know how to spell it. (sorry) after 42 :36 you said "notice I did not miter these" Can you please help me
A mitered corner is a neat way of finishing the corner of a fabric edge in such a way that there is no bulk in the corners when the fabric is turned under to finish the edges. (It’s a similar idea with anything that would have a bulky corner if left uncut)
@@CoriDahmen Thank you very much
This is not a criticism so much as a suggestion.
Thank you for the advice and feedback. I will definitely try to move slower and be more still 😊
Cori, your work is lovely, and I love what you do, but OMG, you talk a lot, girl!
Cori, you were out of range of the camera...
Thank you.
No offense, but WAY to much over explaining…perhaps your audience is beginner’s though…
I do have a mix of viewers and try to keep both new comers and long-time crafters in mind. Since this is an idea book, I thought explaining each item might be the most helpful.
