Hello guys, I realize it's a necessary requirement for you to use your cell phones but I think it's another way for the government to get involved in its citizens' private life. It is New Year in the Philippines so Marie & I wish Dazel and you the very best 2023 will bring. Take care our very good friends.

I also worry about too much information in the hands of private companies in the Philippines. Nothing preventing them from selling the information to anyone that wants it. Wishing you and Marie all the best in 2023! Take care our good friends.

This is good information on the recent changes. I can think of possibilities, both good and bad, that it could be used for. The benefits outweigh the drawbacks that this offers.

I will use my t-mobile International plan with Wi-Fi no need for a sim card or only use WhatsApp and Mesenger Philippines carriers will lose my business 👌

@@TJ-hy4lh Yes; we’ve used Grab when we were in Manila. You’ll have to check the Grab Philippines app if it allows you to use a U.S. number.

I have heard that people using only their cellphones to register are having difficulties. Just my observation here in the Philippines, when the government implement new laws, they do not give the tools to assist the people. The government pretty much leaves it to the people to figure it out for themselves.

Manoy, can you use a US ID? or does it have to be a PH ID?

@M J I hardly use my cellphone here; just use Messenger with WiFi to communicate with family and friends. We have very few taxis (mostly at Kalibo airport) and no Grab in Aklan province. I basically just use my cellphone to get OTP (bank sends a text) to access my bank online.
