Picking her up in a week or so, as she is getting a bit more prep work done. As someone else commented, this is likely my last petrol car. Coming from a Mk6 1.4 TSI, can't wait to drive the GTI...

@@dylangiles1861 Well the finance fell through on that one due to the finance co. not liking the dealer, so I ended up getting a low mileage 2018 (facelift) 2 door manual, in white silver from VW. Still have her, have done a few mods (pretoria wheels, etc. all OEM), still get a real kick out of driving her 2 and a half years later, still get a kick out of just admiring her aesthetics. 7 / 7.5 is the best GTI and the GTI is the best all rounder for daily driving. Enjoy bro, hope you get as much joy out of yours, as I've got and still get out of mine
8:00 to 11:02 - I'm envious. Wish we could go that fast legally in Canada/USA. Nice GTI. I have a very similar car and looking forward to a tune. ~300hp and 380 tq is easily attainable with just software. Eurodyne or APR look good.
you can shipping your car to europe and drive to germany, i see sometime Canada and US license plate here, but i see about 5-10x in year (i drive a lots over 60000km year) or you can rent car in germany ;)
I own a 2012 MK6 GTI and saw you were near top speed for long periods. My question is are the engines really designed and engineered to sustain high speeds for hours on end?
No two liter engine is designed to handle 250 km/h constantly with a 6 speed transmission. Those speeds are for 2.5, 3 liter or bigger engines with at least 7 speed transmission.

Ein Kumpel hatte den und nur Problem gehabt dann Motorschaden bei 96tsd. km hat mich schon abgeschreckt aber war dann wohl ein "Montagsauto" wenn man nen gut gepflegten nimmt und gut behandelt dann halten die normal schon lange
ca 150 € für wochenende wenn ich mich noch erinnere, auf gruppe bild war mercedes a klasse, aber als GTI zu bekommen war schon glücksache, kriegst du nicht immer, am bestens bei grosse stadt oder flughafen zum mieten, lieber vorher anrufen und nachfragen was für auto die dort haben dann kannst du reservieren
