The boards aren't about being fair to other doctors, they're not competing for a spot, it's about determining whether or not a resident is competent and ready to become an attending. In that regard I'm sure he displayed aptitude despite being late, with a good reason.
This was back when Kepner was a HUGE annoying pain in the ass. I was happy when she failed and then got fired. I am glad she came back and grew into a likable person.
I mean...what was April expecting? She barely talked about medicine. She talked about her sex life, her relationship with God, and she had a mental breakdown during the first session.
THANK YOU! I have never been an April fan. She also didn’t really have a great character arch. She went from annoying to being selfish and self absorbed. There was rarely a moment in her entire run on the show when I felt like rooting for her character.
This is currently happening to me this week , im having a crazy week recieving my gcse results that mark a large percentage of my gpa where i live , im really stressed
1:02 warms my heart. Alex giggling, glowing because he and his friends passed their boards. Just a moment of sheer joy, shock, and the weight of pressure/stress disappearing. Not to mention Yang and Avery dancing in circles 😂 Great moment.
I passed my board certification for my own profession this year, and I honestly don't find their exclamations and celebrations to be loud enough. I screamed in my living room and threw myself into my husband's arms when I found out I passed my BC.
I'm not sure if that is the same, but I live in Florida and SCREAMED when I found out I passed my Algebra 1 exam which is a graduation requirement for high school and I had been studying for that exam for MONTHS. My mom took me out to an expensive restaurant to celebrate :)
The first time I watched this episode I already knew who was going to fail. Jackson was distracted but he knew what he was doing. Christina is a genius and her character wouldn’t make sense if she failed. Mer was sick but she got all her answers right. Alex is passionate and a genius so there was little possibility of him failing...and good old Kepner answered her questions with sex and religion. For example “33yr old male with blunt trauma to the abdomen and gsw to the chest what do you do?” April: Jesus DOESNT love me and I had sex!!!
i just never understood why she looked so flabbergasted that she didn’t pass?? like she was literally talking about the lord and how she just got railed in the men’s bathroom. she didn’t answer not one of their questions like yeah you’re not going to pass 😭😭
It's funny how when they took the intern exam Meredith had to take her test by herself because she froze the first time around but then she passed the second time with the rest of the interns and George didn't so he had to redo his intern year. Now as residents Meredith was sick throwing up and everything yet she was able to pass her boards. Alex was late was still passed his yet Apryl flunked hers.
Yeah that makes no sense. The show literally made Meredith and Alex look like they got special treatment while others like George, Jackson, and April didn’t get any due to them not being ‘important in the show.’ That’s why they cut them out just like Izzie.
You forget George was finally able to re-take his intern exam and passed (which was a lesson for Weber to realize that he had to be more human if he wanted to make them good surgeons). Jackson had a pretty decent story and April was a hot mess the whole way through but ended on a solid note. @@leatonjenkins6810

Who has a mental breakdown because they lost their virginity? To an attractive and good guy no less?..Boo freaking hoo 🙄..if anything she is overworshipped
@@judigemini178 I got to say it...Kepner was UNHINGED. She did not react normally at all like you said. Jackson checked in with April multiple times to she if she was okay. The show made it really clear that is was consensual. And what does she do? Put the weight of Jesus now hating her on Jackson's shoulders. She clearly had problems and baggage for herself that she unloaded on to Jackson. As a good surgeon, you would think she would have learned to compartmentalize things at this point, especially if she wanted to focus on trauma. Note, Cristina is dealing with a failing marriage and a cheating husband and Meredith is sick during these exams and they pull through. Alex was distracted and showed up late and aced the second half of the exam. That is more so a sign of the caliber of surgeons they are.
George, Izzie, Cristina, Erica, Callie, Arizona, April, Sadie, Addison, Mark, Lexie, Shane, Stephanie, Brooks, Reed, Charles, Nathan, Teddy, Julia.. like almost 20 ( or more ) people have left Grey’s Anatomy wtf
I hated the stupid Morgan's-baby arc tangent that they went on during the boards exam episodes, in a bid to smokescreen who failed, when it was dead obvious. The one with pit stains, that had a mental breakdown mid exam, and began talking about Jesus of course. It wasn't even close. But even more so, I hated that they doubled back onto a relatively ended story (Alex had cut ties and Morgan seemed to accept her kid is done for), just because they didn't have a storyline for Alex during the boards. It didn't even go anywhere, Morgan didn't even come back.
