It's been years.. The way Chyler's voice cracks in the middle of Lexie’s confession, and the way Mark’s eyes soften as Lexie elaborates her feelings for him. I love their performance in this scene. That's what got to me. Can you imagine how much Mark regrets not taking the chance of getting back together with her. All he said to her was "Thank you for your candor", telling Derek that he couldn't kiss her because he was still with Julia at that time. And then later on, advises Jackson that if he loves someone, he should tell her, no matter what happens. That's how you know how much he regretted it. My only relief is Shonda herself states that their death somehow symbolizes their reunion, that they get to be together "somehow".
You can see the regret in his eyes. He was so in love with her in this scene. And right when Julia came out, you can see he did not want to leave he wanted to kiss Lexie but he couldn’t. His eyes said everything.

These two are a great example of how when two people love each other, they shouldn't play games and dance around it for months or years, they should just figure their shit out and just be together. Because we don't know how long any of us have. These two were on the road back to getting together and were flirting back and forth for a while, but they never got their chance.

When people ask me who I’d rather bring back from the dead, Lexie, Mark or Derek? And people ask me, why wouldn’t you bring Lexie or Mark back because they're your favorite characters? I’d choose Derek, not because he loves Meredith, not because he is my favorite character, not because he has beautiful kids that he would love to see again and watch them grow up, simply because Mark and Lexie. Lexie Grey and Mark Sloan are the reason I believe in true love. Lexie Grey is Meredith Greys half little sister, and Mark Sloan is Derek’s best friend. The first time Lexie and Mark met, Lexie was an intern and Mark was an attending. Watching greys, I knew something was on with them. The way Mark treated Lexie, I could tell he liked her and acted nervous in front of her. There is a feeling from Lexie and Mark that I have when I watch them when they're together that I dont have with any other couple in grey's anatomy. I can't explain it, but it makes my heart happy, it makes me want to keep watching the show to see them. I hated Mark Sloan before he was with Lexie. I thought he was an awful best friend who hooked up with his best friend's wife, an awful attending who doesn’t treat his interns with respect. But when the moment when he was a thing with Lexie, it all changed. It was the way Mark treated Lexie and how Lexie treated Mark. It was the way that they looked at eachother. The way Mark treated Lexie, when there was a shooting in the hospital, he protected Lexie instead of himself. And whenever Lexie was sad, when George died, her mom died, when her dad was sick, when she almost Failed her intern exam, Mark was always there for her to put his arm around her shoulder. Lexie was always there for him too. When Callie almost died in a car crash, Mark was devastated because Callie is his best friend, and she comforted him anyway even though they weren’t together. Even though they weren’t together, he still loves her. And when Mark's 18 year old kid came to visit her dad while she was pregnant, Lexie broke up with Mark because he chose his kid and grandkid over her. But he was as heart broken as Lexie, because he didn’t want to choose them over Lexie because he didn’t want to lose her. Lexie made Mark so happy, more happy than anyone else he has been with, like Teddy, Addison, Amelia, Callie, hospital nurses, Julie. And when Mark and Lexie weren’t together, I knew they were going to come back together, because their soulmates. When Lexie was with jackson she knew that, When Lexie was with Alex all she could think about was how much she missed mark and how much she wanted to be with him, when Mark was with Teddy, he knew he was gonna go back to Lexie because he misses her that much, when Mark was with Julie, all he could think about was Lexie, how he misses her so much, and when Mark was with Julie, Lexie missed Mark so much and she was so angry that she was with Julie that she through a softball at her at the softball game. When Lexie was with Jackson, she questioned if Mark was her soulmate, She kept denying that she only had one soul mate, which was Mark, because she wanted to be happy with Jackson. But at the end of the day, she knows that mark is her soul mate and Jackson knows that too so he broke up with her. When Derek told Mark not to be with Lexie, he did it anyway. Because he liked Lexie, and he had a feeling in his heart, he was happy with Lexie. When Mark tells Derek that Lexie and him were a thing, Mark took a punch for Lexie, because he loves her very much. Even though there is a huge age gap between Lexie and Mark, they didn’t care, they were happy, there were soulmates. In that one episode of grey's anatomy, it shows what life would be if it were way different, if Meredith had a mom, etc. Lexie and Mark weren’t doctors. Mark found Lexie off the streets hurt. Even though this is in a different dimension, this shows that in any dimension, Mark and Lexie will find their way back to each other, because they are meant to be with each other. When Lexie “Hurt” Mark, she thought she broke him, But she didn’t, she fixed him, she made him so happy when they were together. And I can't think about anything or anybody, and I can't sleep, I can't breathe, I can't eat, I love you. I love you all the time. It is every minute of every day. I-i love you.” And Mark is speechless, he doesn’t say anything, but inside I know he feels the same, he doesn’t want Julie, he wants Lexie. He wants the love of his life back. When the plane crash hits, Lexie is in the back of the plane. The first thing Mark does is look for Lexie. Lexie was in the back of the plane and is stuck under it. Christina and Lexie understand what’s gonna happen but Mark goes through all the stages of grief. Denial- He is denying the truth that Lexie is going to die because he doesn’t want to believe the love of his life is going to die. Anger- Mark tryings to lift the plane and realizes its way too heavy and he gets angry that he can't lift it. Bargaining- He tells Lexie that they are gonna have the best life together, Get married, have kids, grow old together. Depression- when Lexie dies, Mark starts to get depressed and keeps saying “I Love you” to her one last time. When she dies Mark sits near Lexie and doesn’t say anything. He just sits there depressed wishing there could have been something he would have done to save her life. Acceptance- Mark accepts that Lexie didn’t make it, and he knew he would see her again because he was dying. When Lexie “hurt” Mark, she said this, “I am now gonna climb into bed with you and stroke your hair, because that is what I would like to have done for me when I’m hurt.” When Lexie was dying under their plane, Mark stroked her hair, he remembered. When Mark was stable at the hospital, he signed a slip that said after 30 days of lift support you have to take me off of it. He did this for Lexie, so he could live the rest of his life with her. Even though he had to leave Cali, Derek, Sophia, Arizona, he did this for lexie. When Julie came to visit Mark in the hospital, he told Julie how he felt. He loved lexie, he couldn’t live without her. Even though she died, Mark knew she would see her aging in heaven when they’re there together. Then we’d go back to why I’d choose Derek to come back to life, because Lexie and Mark couldn’t live without each other. They were meant to be. They were soulmates. They were in love. This is true love.

Although Chyler's acting skills are beyond amazing and she's constantly killing it in all of her scenes... can we talk about Mark's facial expressions? especially at 1:30 it's like he's completly moved by Lexie's speech and he looks so happy to hear that she loves him

I have to say, if you read the raw script/this as a quote, it might sound cheesy, but Chyler Leigh delivers this little speech SO WELL and makes it sound unbelievably emotional. I miss her, and I miss the OG Grey's cast - when GA was actually SO GOOD. Should've ended the show at season 7 or 8. Little Grey and McSteamy were too great of characters to just kill off like that.
BEST actress on the show Shondra must have been CRAZY for killing her off. She can act, sing and she's beautiful and seems nice on interviews I mean perfect woman right there.

Two episodes before the plane crash, when Mark was with Julie, Lexie tells Mark how she felt. She couldn’t last any longer without him. “I love you, I love you, I do, I just i, I love you, I ve been trying not to say it, I have been trying so hard to just mash it down and ignore it and not say it. And Jackson is a great guy. He’s gorgeous and he’s younger then you and has no babies with his lesbian b.f.f.s and he’s an Avery. And he really liked me. But it was neve gonna work out. Because I love you. I am so in love with you. And you're in me. It’s like you're a disease, It's like I’m affected by Mark sloan. And I can't think about anything or anybody, and I can't sleep, I can't breathe, I can't eat, I love you. I love you all the time. It is every minute of every day. I-i love you.” And Mark is speechless, he doesn’t say anything, but inside I know he feels the same, he doesn’t want Julie, he wants Lexie. He wants the love of his life back. When the plane crash hits, Lexie is in the back of the plane. The first thing Mark does is look for Lexie. Lexie was in the back of the plane and is stuck under it. Christina and Lexie understand what’s gonna happen but Mark goes through all the stages of grief. Denial- He is denying the truth that Lexie is going to die because he doesn’t want to believe the love of his life is going to die. Anger- Mark tryings to lift the plane and realizes its way too heavy and he gets angry that he can't lift it. Bargaining- He tells Lexie that they are gonna have the best life together, Get married, have kids, grow old together. Depression- when Lexie dies, Mark starts to get depressed and keeps saying “I Love you” to her one last time. When she dies Mark sits near Lexie and doesn’t say anything. He just sits there depressed wishing there could have been something he would have done to save her life. Acceptance- Mark accepts that Lexie didn’t make it, and he knew he would see her again because he was dying. When Lexie “hurt” Mark, she said this, “I am now gonna climb into bed with you and stroke your hair, because that is what I would like to have done for me when I’m hurt.” When Lexie was dying under their plane, Mark stroked her hair, he remembered. When Mark was stable at the hospital, he signed a slip that said after 30 days of lift support you have to take me off of it. He did this for Lexie, so he could live the rest of his life with her. Even though he had to leave Cali, Derek, Sophia, Arizona, he did this for lexie. When Julie came to visit Mark in the hospital, he told Julie how he felt. He loved lexie, he couldn’t live without her. Even though she died, Mark knew she would see her aging in heaven when they’re there together. Then we’d go back to why I’d choose Derek to come back to life, because Lexie and Mark couldn’t live without each other. They were meant to be. They were soulmates. They were in love. This is true love.

I have to say, if you read the raw script/this as a quote, it might sound cheesy, but Chyler Leigh delivers this little speech SO WELL and makes it sound unbelievably emotional. I miss her, and I miss the OG Grey's cast - when GA was actually SO GOOD.
