The difference to the Battle of Hattin couldn't have been greater - there the exhausted and thirsty infantry - many non- professionals put together from the villagers of the Kingdom of Jerusalem - panicked during the march on Hattin and fled to the hills, leaving the knights to fight it out alone, highly outnumbered and equally exhausted through lack of water and the terrible heat of the day.
