- The Mazda Cx-9 is one best crossover you can enjoy driving with the zoom-zoom attitude! It offers a great deal of driving fun due to a great Skyactive chassis, great and communicative steering, and a turbo engine that can compete with V6. But there are some minus points: Cargo room and third-row space are not generous! CX-9’s engaging driving dynamics are a further hallmark of the Mazda brand, complemented by its industry-exclusive G-Vectoring Control (GVC), which is new to CX-9 models for 2018. GVC uses the engine in conjunction with steering and throttle inputs to minutely reduce engine torque, putting more weight on the front wheels and making the steering feel more linear and direct. As a result, the driver is able to gain more confidence and control behind the wheel. For 2018, Mazda’s midsize family crossover SUV returns with Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and Signature trim levels, but it includes more equipment at each price point.

It looks great - remember this is an SUV and not a sports sedan or hot hatch!
With a older 6 we had I put in some high octane gas and it started to run like crap I took it to the dealership they told me just use regular unleaded so I did it never gave me trouble again so with that our new 6 just gets regular gas.
What octane fuel was used in this test?
Why drive mode? There is manual mode right

I thought this Skyactiv technologie means it's a naturally aspiraded engine :c
And not a modern fuel injection turbocharged engine.
Chris konte some of the skyactiv engines (not this one) aren’t turbocharged. all of them are direct injected though. hope that helps clear some things up
Put it in manual sport mode....takes off like a mofo

David Janitschek and get 17mpg? that was an ancient Ford boat anchor. This modern engine has more torque and 22 mpg.
@@FrostyCoug I had the old cx9 2011 v6 and now have the cx9 awd turbo. the torque and acceleration in the new one is a lot better.

we were waiting for the Ascent's turbo motor in the 2020 Outback - but got the CX5 turbo to avoid getting a CVT

Unfortunately, this is way too slow for nowadays standards (and the price range). I took a test drive as all my previous experience with mazda was really good (in terms of reliability). It just seemed... slow, same level as my wife's 2017 mazda 3 2.0 skyactive. The tranny took ages to downshift and then there was the engine sound, but not much action on the wheels. Good for everyday driving for a soccer mom for sure and that's what the car is made for with its engine. This car definitely needs an option with 300hp to push it. I test drove subaru forester XT 2018 and that was it. Cheaper, more plastic, but definitely powerful. I had to drop my cx9 dream. It's a shame because I really liked the cx9 look and the interior feel. Will wait for their skyactive-x inline six, that may be a good chance. And yes, I'm aware I'm talking about SUV segment but it doesn't mean it has to be slow, 6-7s range for 0-100 is a pretty much standard nowadays.
2.0 is not fast that's for sure! You might want to wait the next redesign for more power:)

Just look at Hyundai santa fe 2019 V6 3.5L it's faster and better fuel economy

@@GriffyWdaGrippy every? We own hyundai with 140k it is still run like new. My point is must of turbo engine will suffer from leaks and internal issues like Honda 1.5t and Nissan 2.5t

What are you talking about? It's in line with the competition in acceleration. The AWD system is also very good. Are you comparing to much costlier performance models?
