    I found 1 dime & 1 Quarter... with my Ex.II They were so crusted over they looked like old clad. I put them away. Was using them to test ID on another detector. And those two coins were showing silver on the 800. I cleaned them where I could finely see the dates... and they were silver. I've had my Explorer II ever since they first came out. Never liked it... cause it was just too hard to learn. But wow... now... it finds the silver... mostly.... because of your videos... have taught me. I have the minelab 800 & 540 Vanquish, bought last yr. Both too, good machines. But because of your videos... I'm no longer afraid of the Exp. II . I give it a chance and it impresses me. Thank You

      And thank YOU for the kind words Willard, the work that I do to make a video is all worth it if it HELPS somebody to also have success in some way. The biggest thing about the Explorer…and I can’t emphasize this enough…you have to TRUST it. I’m glad that you have re-kindled an old friendship with your machine, it is an INCREDIBLE deep coin hunter!

    I may be a little late to the party but I have one of these machines arriving next week,it was the one advertised that nobody else wanted and I'd watched it for days.I lost sleep not knowing if somebody was just like me.I had to have it.
    It's the ugly duckling that I shall turn into a swan.
    Kevin,your videos are just an inspiration and it's a mystery why you don't have more subscribers.More great tool tips for us I guess.You've earned another sub thank you.

      I appreciate your kind words Paul. I don’t know if you’ve run FBS before but if you have not, you’re about to have some fun. Something about THIS particular model gives it an UNCANNY ability to find coins. Deep coins. Skewed coins. Coins in iron. Coins in modern trash. I also have an SEPro, and even though it’s SIMILAR I don’t believe it has the same “raw horsepower”. It’s ALOT of fun to use because of the results. All you have to do is TRUST what it is telling you. It will do the rest.
      I am not necessarily doing this channel for subs or likes or any of that, though recognition is always nice. I don’t want to be recognized as a loudmouth or someone who posts content every 4 hours… but none of it is useful or in some cases even REAL….these videos are just there in case someone can up their game with them. I really enjoy the hobby and great machines make it that much more enjoyable. Hopefully your EX2 will do the same! Have fun and take care.

    Hi, Good Video 👍. Do you know where I can get the extension cable to convert to chest mount?

    • @wizardsofwisconsin7400
      @wizardsofwisconsin7400  2 роки тому

      Hey thanks David! The cable has been out of stock for awhile, not sure when it will show up again. I tried using a CB radio extension curly cord at first but learned very quickly that it doesn’t hold up to the constant back and forth motion. The Coiltek cable is the one to get, but I just don’t have a source currently. If I do find one, I’ll post that info within a future video, or let you know directly. I know others are looking for them as well. Take care!

    I have the same machine for many years now and was just thinking I wanted to upgrade to the xp deus or nox 800 would you know if they are much better then the minelab explorer 2....I use it on the beach mostly

    • @wizardsofwisconsin7400
      @wizardsofwisconsin7400  2 роки тому

      Hi Robert! I really don’t necessarily get into detector comparisons and such, but I can say the Explorers are very capable even in todays arena of “faster and lighter”. I’ve had the Deus1 and the Equinox 800(twice) and didn’t click with either of them. I hunt primarily very deep old coins in turf, and having FBS has spoiled me badly. It’s not to say either one of those machines is bad in some way, just not for me. The new Deus 2 with multi frequency is proving itself to be very good on the beach, so you might want to take a closer look at it. Apparently it is also a good turf hunter, so it might be a good all around machine. I already have my Explorers and the CTX, it’s really all I need to know for the moment. It’s good to hear you are still keeping the Explorer2 in the game, it is a GREAT machine.

      Hi there! I just normally have the upper right quadrant of the screen open, so just accepting high conductors. I run Conductive Sounds, Volume gain at 10, Variability at 10, Limits at 10, then adjust the overall volume at the headphones.

    Hi Kevin,I watched your incredible Morgan dollar 1879 dig,what an amazing feeling THAT must have been!..
    I excitedly received my explorer last week and it is a great piece of electronic wizardry and I've been testing silver U.S and other coinage from my collection and the target cursor is bang on in the top right quadrant,you've given me a real boost in confidence.
    I did want to ask you about the hip mounted version.Did you attach the sm connector from inside the control box or from further up toward the battery connection?..I see a singular white lead and another with a black wire intertwined.Videos on the subject are scarce or non-existent which is why your videos are so valuable.
    Anyway,I like a challenge and have an 11.1v Lipo battery on the way (1800mah) and it's up to the Chinese when it arrives lol.
    The coiltek lead is another problem to be solved.
    Any advice with the conversion would be greatly appreciated,stay safe and best wishes from the UK ATB Paul.

      Hi there Paul! Yes, it was THE “best” coin I’ve ever found as far as a combination of silver, old, condition….did I mention it’s a MORGAN??🤣🤣 Yeah, I was ECSTATIC my two friends were with me, we had a pretty good day to say the least! Yes, an SM connection close to the control box for the battery. They make somewhat larger versions of that battery also for more run time, the thing to do would be to have 2 or 3 of them so you never run out of power. The “Chesty” chest camera mount from GoPro that I was using turned out to work just OK, but it moved around too much, I need to come up with something more suitable. I have heard from MANY people that the issue will be the Coiltek extension cable, I have NO idea why everyone is out of them. I do know that a 5 pin CB radio extension cable will work, but I ruined TWO of them because they aren’t meant to take the constant “back and forth”, they broke internally. The Coiltek works flawlessly, but they apparently don’t exist right now. The next best thing, if a guy had the skill, would be to make the cable if you could source the parts. Seems a bit extreme for a simple cable but that’s where we are. If I could offer one last thing….people say to swing the coil on an Explorer “slow”. That’s misleading. In heavy trash you want to swing quite briskly but in short sweeps, perhaps 1-2 feet. A swing rate in normal ground with average mineralization and/or trash would be 2 seconds over 5 feet. That’s what works for ME HERE. Ancient settlements or nasty ground will require the sweep to get shorter. You’ll be able to work it out and see how it performs. Let me know how things turn out with it, it’s a really fun machine to use, IMO. As I’ve said before, just TRUST it. Take care for now!

    I wonder if you can help me, I've been in touch with coiltek to order and purchase an extension lead so that I can modify my explorer 2 and they have discontinued it, so , is there anywhere else that you know where I might acquire one please , your help and advice would be much appreciated thank you

    • @wizardsofwisconsin7400
      @wizardsofwisconsin7400  2 роки тому

      Hi Peter…as far as I know they’re not being produced by Coiltek right now, I don’t know if they’re going to in the future. I have tried CB radio extension cables which are the correct connections and the curly kind, but they give up pretty quickly because of the constant strain being put on them. You might be able to match up the connector type from an electronics site but I don’t have any great sources right now, sadly.
