@@WeirdGuyInPark It's been wet and to cold to detect. Today was a sunny day and it warmed up. My brother and I are going out tomorrow for the first hunt in three weeks. Probably going to still get wet knees lol.
I enjoyed watching you use that machine. Looks like a fun hunt! I was out for 2 short hunts earlier today. Taking a nap then back out this afternoon, old guy here. Found my first Barber dime today! 1899 in fair shape. 5 wheaties and some junk. Cheers from Bridgeport, Connecticut!
Interesting user interface on the E2. I've seen a few videos lately of guys dusting off their old machines, looks like there was some good tech back in the day. Anyway, have a good weekend and happy hunting!
I bought one of them back when they first came out. I could never get used to the Flute like tones it produced. But the biggest issue was the lower shaft would wobble so much as I was swinging it, that it actually developed cracks in the rod. Thankfully Kellyco where I purchased it from let me trade it back in for 100% of what I paid for it towards a Whites DFX detector which I was very happy with. Thanks for posting this video, it definitely brought back some memories of using it. 😎👍👍👍
I always wanted a whites eagle spectrum..Never did get one though...I'm liking the Explroer though..The shaft and coil i have on the Explorer are from an etrac...
@@WeirdGuyInParkI bought the explorer xs whenin first came out and still use it. Your on point about the Eagle Spectrum to I bought one used a few years ago it’s a very capable machine.
@@michaelc9507 I ended up with the explorers because i could never find a decent price etrac...But i do have an etrac coming soon...Yes i always wanted one of the old whites machines...
I use an Omega, what I found that machine will let me block junk. Also do an X pattern when searching, swing one direction then turn 90 degrees and swing again. Hunting after the soccer games where the parents seat will find money and rings. Also try after people sledding hills only at the top and bottom. Plus Omega uses a 9v battery
Is today your birthday big guy?? If it is HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You found quite a bit of coinage with the explorer. It seems like a good coin machine anyway. Yes you really need to get some waterproof pants for places like that. Can't let the big guy get sick! This was a good video. I love watching you hunt cause you're hell on those plugs! 😆 It's pretty chilly here today and was hot, in the 80s yesterday. Take care honey and keep swinging. 💖💯
Thanks Julie..Ya water proof pants would be great becuase i kneel down on both knees every hole...Just feels more comfortable digging that wat to me..80 degrees where you live huh...I kind of slow down on detecting when it gets too hot...Thank you very much again Julie always glad to read you comments..💜
@@WeirdGuyInPark thanks honey. Right now it's cold. The wind is really high and the cold down here in GA is a wet cold and cuts to the bone. It really sucks too. Lol
I've got one Main issue is the battery life on this machine eats batteries and after 2 hours swinging feels like ya using a skip (weighs a ton ) If ya can put up with that a decent machine
Yep your right about the battery life...I get about 8 hours on mine before i have to recharge...and yes it is heavy...I got this machine cheap and i wanted it because of the FBS..
Minelab FBS machines are still king after 22 years. All they need to do is put it in a Vanquish housing making it 2.7 lbs. Great vid BTW!
I like this machine the more i use it...It's heavy though...
Very interesting, I run a Garrett AT
I always wanted an AT PRO..I like the way they sound..
Nice hunt. Spring soggy ground. Easy digging but hard to keep clean and dry lol. Thanks for sharing, good luck, happy hunting and take care ✌️
Ya it's soggy in my area..How's the ground where you live?

Wow you found a Barber congrats...That's a great find..Was it an old area you were detecting in or just some random place?
@@WeirdGuyInPark it was at the school where I work. I think it was a fluke. I’ve only found one other silver there, a ‘53 Rosie.
@@markfloyd6816 Ahh ok i see...You never know that Barber could of been dropped before the school was built..

Explorere has the same tech as the etrac does but is a little slower on button responses...Thanks for the comment Chris..

Thanks again oldtimer...
Is that a older metal detector I’ve never seen one like that looks like a pretty good one
Ya minelab only made them for 3 years...2003 thr 2006..
That ground seems supersaturated, Makes for easy digging but gives wet knees lol
