    Great explanation of the benefits of coil sizes mate. This topic comes up quite regularly on groups and will help users for sure.

    I find that using the bigger coils is more advantageous in searching large fields and park areas.

    That was a really great day. It was very evident on those deeper signals the difference between the Deus 1 and the Deus 2

    The round thing found at 5:00 could be a seal, such as that used on flour sacks. Greetings, Karl.

    D2, great machine in pasture. Found a decimal 1/2p at below pinpointer depth last Tuesday. Looked like a groat there at the end.

    Good evening Garry, very interesting video because it is true that the big record can sometimes lead to confusion on deep targets, a good clue and digging it becomes less good to finally be an old ferrous, that's why the small record is good because less unpleasant surprises .. good evening and a sentence in French in your cool video. Hi Gary. Thanks again for an interesting vid.
    3 things... out of interest, what programme were you using on that pasture and I really liked to look of that digger, where did you get that? Considering the various coils, it would have been interesting though perhaps not practical, to have made some direct coil comparisons, especially on that really deep target.

      @The-skillschool  Рік тому

      Thanks Colin
      I was using the Nero program : Square tone and audio response 6
      No idea what the digger is called.

    I have a degree in low voltage electronics. If my memory serves me right multiple thin leaders makes less resistance then one solid leader. All wires nowadays are made like that ans so is search coils. The distance of the leader also increase the resistance. To increase the electromagnetic field it's better to braid the leaders because if they run parallel the cause interference with another. So since most machines have and power output of 1 watt mandated by federal US law we can draw the conclusion that a large coil will have a more shallow field then a small coil. The only benefit of a large coils is that it covers more ground and this is important because 95%(guess) don't overlap swings. Lack of patience. Also a large coil will false more and turn iron to valuable targets and vice versa on the outer edge and depth of the detected field. A square nail will ping silver in the center of the coil when in reality it is at the edge. You will misplace the hole, dig your plug and the iron target will be in the wall. Similarly your detector will cause a hammered coin at great depth to be read as an Iron target. If your detector have an accurate depth meter and the audible iron signal is week and reads as deep, it can be a coin. The recent Manticore shows this behavior in extreme and you need to learn your machine and how it's magnetic field looks like. Unfortunately no detector is shielded towards the sides and up. There is no such technology yet that can shield electromagnetic fields with plastics. If law makers knew this facts, there would be no need for prohibition on none cultivated land, in tropical and tempered areas, due to soil build up preventing finding ancient targets. For the same reason a flood plain is a waste of time to detect. Around the Yellow river in China, 2000 year old artifacts are 3 meters down now.

      Just wondering if you have a metal detector that you liked , have you studied any, or are they all the same , just interested in your take on things ,

    • @mossig
      @mossig Рік тому +2

      @@wilson42cc I have several detectors. The most important factor of success is research. Old maps etc. If you have years of experience you can try a complicated detector. They will have some advantages but can also be overwhelming. To buy a advanced detector is not a good idea if it's your first. Many hardly used detectors come out on second hand markets because the owner went crazy with all the beeping that is going on. Those who keep the detector just turn it on and go and don't bother to tweek the performance. I always buy my detectors second hand. Right now I mostly use a Nokta macro Racer 2. Had it for on season and I'm not disappointed with it. It's much easier to use then the Minelab explorer that I used before. I can't recommend that one. It's false to much. As in Australia there is a lot of iron here but the Macro has no problems with it. I don't search for gold and have no experience of pulse detectors. I have my eye on a couple of eastern European detectors and it might be my next one. Just buy a Nokta simplex if you are a beginner and want to search for coins or artifacts. With some experience choose the Nokta Legend.

      Yes indeed, I like Nokta makro , had a simplex, very good , was looking at legend, as next detector have had a knee operation so haven’t been able to do anything for about two years but starting slowly to recover. Good luck to you in your journey’s,

    Hi Gary,
    Can you please check and confirm rhat spacers for 34x28cm coil is different from 28cm coil.
    In my deus xp package i got wrong spacers and they cant feet in to the coil so i can only place screw and bold without spacer.
    Can you help a bit?

      Thank you for your prompt replay.
      Looks like they are not.
      Spacers that i get are bigger in radius and cant enter in to the coil.
      34x28 coil that i have has round hole while 28cm coil have a mountimg hole with small clips on the right side.
      If you can please check it for me :)
