    Finally a hair video again, it has been almost 10 years!
    This time is all about coloured waxes, I started seeing posts shared all over Facebook about these products and ordered some online to try out.
    After days of experimenting and going through hours and hours of footage, here it is! My coloured wax video.
    I go over what it is made out of, what styles is it good for, what are the good and bad points of the product and finally tips on using the product I discovered through all my experimenting.
    It's not a dye, or chalk but a temporary, one time use, easy to wash out paint.
    BTW Mofajang means magic hairdresser and is a trademark of a company that means 3 magic hairdressers. :P

    I actually love these colored waxes. BUT if you expect your long, dark hair to completely change color, it ain't gonna happen. It can give you some beautiful highlights though, regardless of how dark your hair is. My hair is very dark, long and thick but the color still stands out, as long as you take some time to apply it. Oh also it's super easy to wash it out, just in one go, which is great if you want an one day look only.

    So I just tried it by myself. I watched a lot of videos where other girls put it on for the full length of their hair. However I did the same and it was a mess. It is definitely not made for long hair. It is more like for some highlights, hair streak/tip ..
    Pretty sad because my hype was big but I'm glad that I could wash it off very easily after it felt like I put some kind of glue into it.

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  5 років тому +3

      yeah, for long hair you really need to just smear the tiniest bit on the outside to add a highlight. any more and it will just make your hair stiff. not the easiest thing to work with.

    • @MephistoRolling

      if you brush it out it will go to a dull tint, so depends on the effect you want, but you probably will need to, or be very careful when applying to avoid clumping/sticking together. probably some different products will give you better results. but really depends on the way you want to style your hair.

      This basically is a clear gel with pearl powder in it. I have made some myself. You can mix it with other products. But if your gel softens when wet. It wont help. Gel normally breaks apart when played with and sags when wet. Same as this does already

    • @MephistoRolling

      In that video she has 3 hairstyles. one is bleached ends with a Gray and purple wash on the ends. Its always in coloured lighting giving it multi tone looks. The second is bleached all over with the dull purple in most of the hair and a brighter pink section on one side. The third is long extensions that are baby pink and purple.

    • @MephistoRolling

      You can't really get that wet look with the wax as its too stiff and washes out. You would need to bleach your hair and then put in the colours to get the look in that video.

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  4 роки тому +7

      i did this for the video, i put on lots of layers brushing and blowdrying in between. you can't just do one thick layer because its like gel, and once it sets your hair is like a rock, so cant brush or style it. have to do a few layers, or style it quickly before it dries. (it dries/sets quite fast) When you brush your hair, the colour stays there, but it looks dull, not as pearlescent.

    You didn't quite cover doing an all over effect while maintaining brightness. You said all over tint and getting brightness for select areas...but you didn't give instructions on how to do an all over bright effect for long hair while keeping the hair softer looking. Should you rub it in your hands to apply every where, even though that lightens the intensity? And how do you apply enough of the product to have a bright look but also not over apply to avoid making your hair texture turn rough and sticky? Should I make my hair OVERLY oily before applying, to make sure it counteracts the drying aspect? And should you let it completely air dry before brushing, partially dry (how much? Time, wetness level, etc), or brush immediately after applying? (/As you go)

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  5 років тому

      To get an overall effect it is a trade off. if you want it bright it will either be stiff. or if you moisturise the hair with oil or conditioner etc before. it will stop the product drying and make it more prone to coming off. if you brush your hair it will make it dull looking, so you will need to add a top coat to get the rightness back. how soon you brush and when depends on how much you put in. if you are brushing at all you will need to put in only a tiny amount or else it will just pull your hair like crazy. when and now much depends on the end style you are going for.

    Hi I've been wanting to put some kind of color in my hair for awhile now but without actually dyeing my hair. I'm looking for something that will show up in dark brown hair but will completely wash out and not leave some kind of nasty color. I have looked at reviews for spray on color, chalk, liquid chalk, and wax but each one seems to have a down size when it comes to your hair drying out, not showing up on dark hair, or not coming out.
    You seem to be very knowledgeable when it comes to coloring hair, so I wanted to ask you what would be the best product to get that I can apply with wet or damp hair, that won't make my hair dry and brittle, and also won't come out when I touch it but will wash out when I shampoo.

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  6 років тому

      Hi, yes unfortunately most products have a downside. permanents and semi-permanents will feel the nicest in the hair, but they last and either just tint dark hair, or permanently change it. Products that wash out after just 1 wash, will not feel as nice as they are essentially a pigment glued onto the outside of the hair, or a rough pigment that will catch and stick in the hair. but as they coat the outside of the hair, they will cover dark hair. You can mix things with the products to help soften the hair like I tried, but this will affect the colour a little. I am sure there is a really good hair paint, chalk, mascara, spray, wax, etc (the names of wash-out colour varies a lot) but I have to try more to find the best.

    Is it possible to mix two different colors of the same brand together to create a different shade without destroying its properties? • @MephistoRolling

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  6 років тому +3

      if you apply it to wet hair, it will still flex and bend. but once it is dry it will not feel natural, it will feel like it has product in it, similar to a salt spray feeling, but a little stronger. so messy looks are fine, you will still probably get waves, not sure about full curls though. if you used something to curl your hair it would probably cause it to hold strong in that shape.

      @MephistoRolling  6 років тому +1

      if you are using the product by itself it dries pretty quick, just like a hair wax. might be worse on a hot or humid day. i have seen women put it in longer hair and haven't heard of problems with it on their clothes, but it definitely is possible, so if you are using a lot of product, it could definitely happen.

    if i use it as a tint on strands of my hair and don't wash my hair before bed, will it come off on the sheets?

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  6 років тому

      yeah it could, but it will also wash out of the sheets. (still wouldn't trust it on white sheets) so depends if you want to risk it. if its super dry when you go to bed it might just leave a powder residue, if its a little wet it might wipe off like it does on your hands when you put it on. if you plan ahead just put a crap pillow case on, just in case.

    Even when it's dry, will it stain anything it touches?
    Also, since it washes out with water easily, does that apply to sweat as well?

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  6 років тому +2

      when its totally dry, its like dry paint. will flake off, but not stain like a dye will. and yeah, any moisture will cause it to run, so sweat, rain, etc.

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  6 років тому +1

      I did this to my hair for an hour! added a bit, blow dried it, then added more and blow dried it. brushing in between. it just made my hair feel like it had hair chalk in it, very dry, no shape just like an electrocuted hair style. if you put it on damp hair, it probably wont be in the style you want when it dries. I did one test where i put it in damp hair, blow dried it, and then when it was fluffy i added more product to weigh it down and shape it again. looked good, just took a lot of time and work.

      Yeah it would be fine. main ingredients are water, beeswax, some other waxes, caster oil, nothing much to worry about. make sure it dries so they dont rub it in their eyes, and you shouldn't run into any issues. washes out super easy in water too, so seems all good.

    do i apply this to wet hair or dry hair?

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  6 років тому +2

      if you are using it as a tint, then applying it to wet hair will allow you to spread it evenly, but the colour will be more dull. if you apply it to dry hair, it will pull a lot because the binder is very strong, so best to just paint it on the outside of the hair to add bright finishes. if you are going for a strong style, spikes, etc then you can apply it quite thick and quickly style it before it dries out too much.

    • @jacquelineperreault7219
      @jacquelineperreault7219 6 років тому

      i plan on using it to probably just make some highlights in my hair.

    • @MephistoRolling
      @MephistoRolling  6 років тому

      it will depend on the length and style of your hair, but i'd probably just lightly paint it on the outside of the hair after styling with the tips of your fingers to add the highlights. or if you wanted to try more of a streak, you could style your hair then wet just the areas you want highlighted then add the products to it to tint the streak, then add a bit on the outside to add a bright colour (but your hair will feel quite dry by this stage).
