Great video and tutorial. I have this unit coming for my '04 F-250, along with a Sirrius SXV300v1, and the the MicroBypass. I'm not going nuts with this and keeping things pretty simple, but will the factory door speakers be adequate for this or should I replace them with something else? Also I'd like to add the AVIC U280 in the future. Will that make it a standalone internal Navigation or is it still an overlay requiring my phone? I really enjoy watching your videos. You are both beyond "installers" and are true craftsmen. I really like the tablesaw/router table workstation you have. That would be right at home in my woodshop.
What's the advantages other pioneer stereos have that this doesn't have?
I've had this unit for about a month and now it's sounding really distorted. Almost like all my speakers are blown or something. Happens randomly though. When its not acting up, the sound is nice and crisp. anyone had this issue?

What's the difference between this and the 5800 and is which one is better

My mom's car has a radio with this model id on it and we are having an issue where when its cold enough (Below 60F ish) when we start the car the radio will automatically turn the volume up to max all by itself. Is there a way you can find out what causes this and how we can fix it?
How do I disconnect other phone’s blue tooth?
I have a 2009 Dodge Journey and it has a sort of Shark Fin antenna, but has the stick that screws into it. Factory radio did ok with FM reception, but the new Pioneer radio does bad. Real bad! How do I know if I need the power antenna wire hooked up or not? I was thinking it was only use for the motorized antenna's and this one is not. So will it hurt it if I just wire it up anyways? Any help would be great. And thanks for the helpful video.. Much better than the user manual that came with the radio.

Are all the power plug inputs the same on the double din models? I have a Pioneer 3700bhs and thinking about swapping for another pioneer.
Nick yes the 3700 use is the current plug. The only thing different is the AVIC navigation radios. They are the same plug just a couple different pined wires

can this unit work with Huawei P20 Pro audio, just sale my kenwood exelon kdx-x500bt because won't able to play my music in bt, many problem, have to reset head unit,dellete my bt profil many times to be able to play music ( spotify,iheart )so i sale it to a guy have iphone, my wife iphone no problem, so this head unit Pioneer X490BS is ok for Android user in audio mode

Can you stream music from Tidal on the iPhone using Pioneer's AppRadio to the X490BS?

So if I wanted to not use pandora or Spotify for music. I would have to have the wire aux not with Bluetooth because Bluetooth only for iPhone music app iTunes only for Bluetooth ?

i have this particular unit installed in a 2013 dodge challenger sxt plus. One question when I got it installed i can not hear incoming calls nor out going calls. Nor the siri eyes free works. What could be the problem?

what ever happened to the STAGE 1 competition SQ radios pioneer used to make?
TheTech they made them to hard for dealers to buy, so no one sold them. They dumped it all off to Crutchfield for cheap. Kind of sucked

Awesome!! I have an older pioneer and it also came with the USB extension cord. I hooked it up and plugged in my iPod and for some reason the iPod plays music sloooow. Meaning the songs sound like they are a quarter of the regular speed. I then hooked the iPod up directly to the USB port on the back of the head unit and it played normal. Is this a known issue with these units? Have you seen this happen before? Would love to have the USB cable attached so I could swap out the iPod if I need to without removing the head unit. Great head units though.

I have the 4800BS. I just ordered a new iPod charging cable and will test to see if the same thing happens with that. It was an old cable so we will see.
Yup. It was my iPod cable. New one works great with the supplied USB extension from pioneer. 👍🏻

Mamoon Sufian not out of the box, this radio does not have an Hdmi input. You would have to add something like the iSimple MediaLinks and the your phone adapter

I have the 490. When I go to iPod there is music and video. Music works, but I cannot get video to work. I'm trying to play movie I have on my iPhone. What am I doing wrong?

+Geo Arellano it is the emergency brake wire There are 3 ways to hook up the lt. green wire 1 contect to the parking break and press when you needed. 2 hook the lt. green wire up to switch( ground 1 side and connect the other end to lt. green) 3. get the bypass from Amazon search microbypass.

+Andrei Santos it comes will the new harness, the FX plug does not have the reverse trigger wire on the plug.

man these head units should automatically recognize when you have an ipod, or aux or android etc plugged in WITHOUT having to pre select it from the settings first.. its such a headache ,.. esp for those people like me who like using and switching back from ipods, usb sticks and android phones often

24 hours time should be the norm. Its far simpler then 12 hour format.
