- This scene from 'Heaven Is For Real' which is based on a true story is one of the most powerful scenes I've ever seen in a movie, what Colton Burpo tells his parents about what he saw in heaven is beyond words, I recommend that everybody should watch this movie when they have the chance!

Not to mention, the Burpo family didn't necessarily have to lie... they could have recounted the story differently than it actually happened, could have unknowingly exaggerated, embellished, etc. The human brain pieces together information and transcribes it VERY imperfectly! This is why eyewitness testimony is some of the worst evidence in court. Not to mention, there are many explanations for Near Death Experiences (an oxygen deprived brain). How come the vast majority of people who describe their experience almost always see their own particular God that they already believed in!?! There is a simple test that can be done for people who claim "astral projection" such as yourself. A simple little message could be put high up on a shelf where only someone up near the ceiling (like the guy claiming that he left his body) could see. When these people with "out of body experiences" have actually been put to this kind of test, NOT ONE of them had ever been able to recite the message. Fact of the matter, when put under actual scientific testing, not one of these claims has ever been able to hold up to scrutiny! People can have very powerful visions and dreams when in an oxygen deprived, unconscious state! It's been PROVEN because we've learned all about this through our studies of the brain itself. When tested, we can actually locate the particular areas of the brain that are affected! So the time to believe something is when you have actual evidence and not anecdotal claims... sorry, but that's how critical thinking works.

That was a different kid. There were two stories, 'The Boy who came back from Heaven' and 'Heaven is for real'. The first story was the one where the kid sadly made up the story. The second one is unrelated. It is sad that the first kid lied anyway. It was a shame and puts an unnecessarily bad light on religion.
