Well done, intelligent review that didn't waste my time - Thank you! It's a good looking Lincoln for sure and an improvement from the previous MKX but that new grill still looks best on the MKZ.
We have a 2016 MKX and like it much better than previously owned Caddy's. Great vehicle and will be leasing another one next year. We also love our 2014 Ford Mustang GT.
Had the chance to rent a 2016 MKX in Orange County a couple of years ago...Was surprised just how quiet and comfortable it drove! The theatre of the welcome back at night was crazy!! Only tough part was I couldn't figure out how to recline the rear seats as they were set way too perpendicular to the cushions. Thanks Lauren...I think this is the first actual test I've seen of the Nautilus.
Stephen Hendricks 😂😂 Back in the 80's in high school and early years of college..I had a 1978 Plymouth Arrow Hatchback that was a Metallic Blue with White Vinyl interior...This was a Complete Nightmare.. to keep clean..😱😱 I had every cleaner on the planet that was to keep white vinyl clean! A lot of elbow grease..every other day. I have always had light interior in my cars but the White is the Worst to keep clean! 🙆😂. ua-cam.com/video/Dg_c8WVTq0o/v-deo.html
Love this Nautilus! Out of my league! GUESS I'm gonna stick with the 2017 NEW( to me) MKX(reserve),I really like the Burgandy Velvet, its a deep rich Burgundy, not cranberry looking!
Lincoln is certainly upping their game. First with the Navigator and now with the Nautilus. Each appears to be real competition with Asian and European rivals. Of course, my wife would confiscate the checkbook if I ever proposed spending $67K on a midsize crossover (or just about any other vehicle) even if Lincoln would take the kid to school. But we did seriously consider the Ford Edge Sport with the 2.7L twin turbo V6 when we purchased a crossover a few months ago. It's a very impressive powerplant in a midsize crossover. Don't know if it's tuned in a similar fashion in the Nautilus but if it is, it will be quick and fun to drive, especially in the 2019 slightly retuned version. As far as the styling is concerned, the Nautilus looks very, very good, especially in the burgundy/brown interior color scheme. I have to wonder, though, about the sanity of anyone who would pay this kind of money for a "family" vehicle with white upholstery! Do these people not have kids or pets? Or for that matter any passengers who resist being required to don evening wear when they ride in the car? It looks fabulous in the still photos but it's clearly designed for those with more money than sense.
Lol the white interior is amazing with the blue, which I believe is the same color Continental uses. I have a friend who has the white in a MKX and just loves the tuxedo interior. It’s held up better than anyone expected. Interior is easy to clean. The Edge Sport is one of my favorite CUV’s. Btw, most people lease the Black Label and not an outright buy. Thanks for your input.
@@jaus1701 The crossover is my wife's daily driver so her opinion outranked mine. We bought a KIA Sorento. Virtually the same size and same cargo and passenger space (in the first two rows) as the Edge but with a third row of seats that's quite useful on occasion, especially when we're called upon to play chauffeur for our teenage daughter and her friends. The Sorento (SX-L trim) also outpointed the Edge in terms of interior quality and bells and whistles (e.g. better infotainment) and much better warranty coverage. The one area in which the Edge stood out was the twin turbo 2.7L V6. I really liked it but my wife (who isn't afflicted with testosterone poisoning) wasn't as impressed. And if I'm honest I have to admit that a crossover's 0-60 time isn't usually a critical priority. Still it was fun. :) For 2019 the Edge Sport has been replaced by the Edge ST. Haven't driven one but it looks like "badge engineering" to me. A bit more HP from the same engine and Ford claims some significant suspension upgrades so I might be wrong. What's clear, though, is that the ST comes with a significant bump in MSRP compared to the 2018 Sport.
My only wish... (and I talked to a Lincoln rep) is that the Nautulus would use the 2.3L Turbo-4 that's in the Mustang and MKC as the base engine. I also said that initially is the fact that the base MKX had a 3.7L V6 as its base engine and hp is 305. I thought the 2.3L Turbo would alleviate that.
I suspect that Lincoln feels correctly that neither the Mustang 2.3L nor a more powerful engine than the 2.7L V6 would add to their sales for the Nautilus. The 2.0L 4 is perfectly adequate for a midsize crossover that prioritizes luxury over performance. As for the 2.7L twin scroll turbo, Ford is tuning the 2.7L engine more aggressively in the Ford Edge SRT for 2019. And from the specs, the Nautilus is getting the same treatment. Not every market segment needs a hot rod.
@@stephenhendricks103 Once I think of it, you might be right. I don't think Ford has the pairing with the 2.3L Turbo-4 with the 8-sp auto. There's a 10-sp. auto in the 2.3L Turbo-4 Ford Mustang, but it's a rear drive performance car. The Lincoln Nautulus is a front drive based comfortable luxury crossover.
Can't comment on the Nautilus configuration but the 2018 Ford Edge Sport with the same engine was among the quickest midsize crossovers available, not including such insane models as the Durango SRT and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. For 2019, Ford has added about 20 HP to that engine in the Ford Edge SRT and the Nautilus. 0-60 is reported around 5.2 seconds for the Ford SRT.
Whatever it is has to have a quiet, comfortable ride; adequate power; heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel; and Apple CarPlay. If one of these is missing, then you’re out of contention.
China gets a three row version of the Ford Edge, I wonder if they will get a three row version of this Lincoln twin? But I guess that's what the three row Aviator will be for.
Whats with the CD player? Why is there one? Im guessing the dash is an older design, tried and true? My CDs are in storage..with Apple music subscription carrying CDs seems bedrock-ish ( The Flinstones cartoon reference)
the natalius will be getting just bought one and under the hood the belt orientation it list 3.0 2.7 and the 4cycle o wonder if it will be the 3.o desiel ???
What a luxury midsize crossover should be.
Thank you, Lauren. Lincoln really woke up from its decades slumber with the Navigator, Aviator and now this!!
Agreed
Well done. As expected. I really like how you post the prices. And the competitors in the class of the car you're testing.
Thanks for the feedback
This makes the cadillac xt5 look like an honda accord..
Great Video I didn’t think Lincoln Could step up their Game I’m thinking about a New SUV now I can put this on my list

Just bought the MKC 19' and not disappointed at all. Comfy as can be. I'll upgrade next vehicle
I just got one and I LOVE IT❤️❤️❤️
Your review is “just right.” Not too detailed and focused on highlights. Enough info to stimulate interest.
Thank you! Much appreciate your feedback.
Hmmm..🤔 Is that my test drive? I know I can get it out in the world and help you show it off and work with you in any way that I can help!
That house in the background is everything!
LOVE that white interior, would love to see that dark blue found on the Continental and pair it with that white interior, contrast!
As long as you don't drive it or allow anyone to sit in it, it'll look great.

You did not get the Nautilus or the Edge. May I ask what you did buy? Just curious. Thanks.

Stephen Hendricks you forgot to mention the MKC and continental, all have similar grills.
Both vehicles are getting major changes. Will show them to you as soon as we get to see them

. . . and then bump up the 2.7L a bit more, set the Lincoln far apart from its lesser sibling.

thank you for this review we bought one :)
Awesome - great choice!
great and fluent, articulate review; nice vehicle.
😊
Interested in the horsepower and performance of both engines. I would guess that the 6-cylinder turbo moves pretty quickly.
It does. Worth driving one!

Very nice looking SUV. I know Lincoln offers “heads up display” but does the 2019 Nautilus offer it as a option? Can anyone let me know?
Yes on head up display. It’s there!
I just cant seem to find info on it anywhere. Also when do a new build on Lincoln.com i dont see that option?
Great video. Congratulations
Thank you
Subscribed! Excellent review, ma'am!
Thank you!

Good job.. although i cant relate to carrying a wedding cake in the back seats. ;)
China gets a three row version of the Ford Edge, I wonder if they will get a three row version of this Lincoln twin? But I guess that's what the three row Aviator will be for.
Chinese people are small enough to have 4 rows of seating. Have you seen their apartments? Americans need more room so they only get 2 rows.
@@danc1197 SMH the three row version is longer.
Just bought a Reserve in White and Cappuccino.
Niccccce
Does It have HUD . If it doesn't I won't get it

I laughed about that too but apparently many people still use them, most audiophiles. I have cassettes and LPs in the basement too
Beats cloudy Buffalo Lauren, lol
True
bang for the buck.......$59k is perfect
Nice car, but the concept was way better. Should of had stuck with that
Not a fan of the burgundy interior.
Veiculo urbano vas a vivir en el ok

There was the reveal at the New York Auto Show this past spring.

Hideous and dated looking interior
