I lived there five years ago coming grom North America. The place has changed a lot. Massive tall buildings and more people are living there now. But, you know what? I like Eastleigh because it has good restaurants and shopping malls. Somali people are very friendly and business minded. Thanks for the videos. It definitely brought some memories back. Also just a few months ago there were limits on how high one could build a building because of the eastleigh base. But ruto removed that stipulation and said they can build as tall as they want.

Even either requiring buildings parking garages or just have more parking areas a little outside the busy areas of Eastleigh.. It just doesn't make any sense. Somali business man can come together and lobby for these types of developments.
Hi Dolphine. Thanks alot for this video and for telling the Somali business success in Kenya. I recently moved to Nairobi and I am living in one of these high rises in Parklands. One major issue to consider is in the event of an emergency like a fire, there are no emergency escape routes. There is simply no plan at all. So i am thinking of moving out myself and looking for another house with less risk!
You don’t live in western world buildings that’s made of mainly rubbish material that’s susceptible to fires. Concrete is the best fire resistant material and has more superiority than any other building materials in terms of combustibility. Fire doesn’t spread on concrete buildings So you are good..
I have said the same thing. All these buildings coming up what if a fire happens. Infact i say all buidlings should have a balcony and also no window bars from the third floor for easy escape incase there is a fire

Wow! This place has changed! I think the roads will be sorted out after majority of the construction is done. Otherwise with heavy trucks carrying material it may be an exercise if futility. As for drainage, wajipange tu na septic. That may not happen in the foreseeable future
But what will happen? It's gonna be too densely populated with a deficit of amenities like sewerage, parking, water, and congestion. Roads are so narrow and in poor condition. People too many. Wonder if these plans were correctly approved ?? It may degenerate into a highrise slum.
I walked through this area a few days ago. It was around where Rage and Arafat towers are and even went inside some of these buildings. They were a lot nicer than I expected them to be. Whoever is building these towers is actually doing a decent job in terms of construction. They all have modem lifts and they took great concern for the residents in terms of safety. The biggest problem though is open sewer right outside of these buildings. I am still thinking about buying 1-2, if possible, bedroom units and renting them. They are in high demand because you can do all your shopping a 2-3 minute walk away.

It's too congested without any green areas like leafy neat low density Kileleshwa. A vast difference in quality of life in the two places. If we had a leader driving this idea from the top, say the president and the same idea is adopted down the political ladder, many Kenyans would begin to understand the importance of environmental conservation. Sahi hawkers have taken over the city na he's afraid of chasing them out. If we had a leader driving this idea from the top, say the president and the same idea is adopted down the political ladder, many Kenyans would begin to understand the importance of environmental conservation. The issue is that politicians fear being discarded by people if they push this agenda. Look at how Sakaja alikunja mkia after kupigwa vita when he suggested that magari zisiingie tao. Sahi hawkers have taken over the city na he's afraid of chasing them out. I have started to think a body like the NMS is more likely to keep our city clean than any politician because they're not limited by politics.

All Somali government officials from all previous regimes to the current one keep on stealing money from poor Somalis meant to develop Somalia and investing the aid money in personal properties in Eastleigh Kenya. Roads and Drainage should be the first priority. highrise buildings but ukitoka nje garbage and poor drainage every corner, plus, no pedestrian walk ways .......its gonna be a mess if such critical infrastructure is not given priority

The mall is located at General Waruinge road on your way to Pumwani.

And we even used to chase the Eastleigh chief for trying to harass people who don’t fall under her location. Don’t let the Somalis fool you .
