I think just doing a Base with Sasquatch package would the the best overland package. You’re going to end up putting your own shelving, power, etc in an overlander. The real only thing you’re missing from the badlands is some “fancy pants” options as well as the swaybar disconnect, which shouldn’t be an issue in the aftermarket. Plus on IFS swaybar disconnects generally aren’t super useful. I’ve got a base reserved, planned to get Sasquatch pack.
Was going with the black diamond, but now I’m totally going for the badlands model. I’m definitely subscribing to you, you literally talked about what I wanted to go for in a Bronco.
Hands down the best review of the models I've seen; I would have liked a brief mention of what comes in the First Edition, regardless of its sold out status. Well done

Hey man, nice comparisons to the Wrangler. Let's compare it to an 80 series. It's a shame that Ford went with IFS again. If I'm buying IFS, it's going to be Toyota. I might consider a used Bronco, if and when a conversion kit is available.
Thanks. Great videos, and web content. I have a 2-door First Edition reserved and look forward to heading back to some of the trails around Lake Tahoe.
nice to see you came to the same conclusion I did, reserved a Badlands, will add Sasquatch and Lux package for the stereo, then I just have to find some fun trails within easy reach from the East Bay for weekends and I can't wait to take it to Moab and all the adventures between here and there. An other 12 months or so of patience required, but I'm glad a winter sports injury followed by Covid kept me from getting a Rubi, because at least on paper it seems that the Bronco addresses all the issues I had with a Wrangler are suddenly non-issues anymore and I won't have to budget for thnigs that should be already there in a close to 60k vehicle. Glad I found your channel, subbed and will check older videos, lots to learn to make future fun safe and enjoyable!
Badlands had my vote for the best all around version as well. But then again even the base model with the Sasquatch package even seems nice right of the gate! Great video, and yes just talking about the new Bronco is a mouthful for sure!
Outer Banks Fancy Pants Trim is aptly named. Reminds me of all those people who put “OBX” stickers on their back windows because they go to the Outer Banks every Summer on vacation.
Ford has announced that they are going to give us the manual with Sasquatch package but still only with the smaller 4cyl. Test engineers do claim the rock rails can handle the weight of the vehicle but they mount to the body vs frame so that will be interesting to see if they really hold up.
Doug Demuro got it point on when he said that all the people complaining about not being able to get the manual with the V6 was just internet noise. Most of these "people" won't ever cash up and actually go by one. They are the proverbial tire kickers. The demand just isn't there. On paper, yea the manual sounds awesome, but like you said on here, most of us still have to get to the camp sites. These days, I have too much other stuff going on, sipping coffee, navigating and learning my Gaia maps with my Ipad, Garmin Inreach, dog in the back, I personally would take the auto.
Wow, this was timely, Mike! Our local Ford dealership called to ask me if I was still looking to trade my Jeep Compass in for a new vehicle. I've always loved the Bronco and wish I had bought one years ago instead of a Mustang. Your going over the various options really helped. I love the idea of getting the Basic model with the manual shifter and the granny gear. Of course, I will add the Sasquatch option with the 35 inch tires. Thanks for sharing this video.
Great comment, man. Stick with your Trooper. No payments and you have money for other better stuff. Than many people who will be driving this and cannot make the payments down the road.
Great video. I reserved mine in Wildtrak on day one of the release. I am torn on changing to the Badlands when order time comes. I want the steel bumpers, but I will wait and see what the aftermarket bumpers look like before ordering the Wildtrak with plastic. Also kind of hoping Ford will change the plastic bumper on the Wildtrak to steel before order time. Can't order until November or December anyway.
I’m in the same boat. Wildtrak reserved but considering the change to Badlands. Is steel vs. plastic bumper the only difference other than the Sasquatch package??
If I wasn’t invested like I am with my JLU I’d go with a bad lands bronco also. Really wish they announced it better before hand, but maybe in a couple years it’ll be an option other than see what is like first hand compared to a wrangler. I do like the hard top breaks down more than the wrangler also. Super jealous of y’all that can “pre-order”. Awesome break down video!
Great video. Best all around "Order Mode" is Badlands, Sasq. Pac, in Color- white=51% cooler in summer, Add Grabber Blue Colors which is also a Ford Color Not yet offered on the Bronco, but is on the Mustang-E. Buy a Waren Wench, All the Overland needed Equipment and hit the trails, Explore the World with US-A.
I’m really torn between the two door and the four door. I had a 66 back in the early 99’s so the nostalgia for a 2 door is strong but it know the 4 door will ride better and be more utilitarian. Either way I’m getting one
It looks awesome but overlanders need reliability! Toyota needs to pay attention and offer its off-road vehicle with the capability of adding 33s and 35s without major body chopping.
To be honest, on a really technical trail I might prefer the automatic anyway. I think the crawler gear would be fun to try out of coarse, but being realistic, automatic is just fine.
those best in class offroad numbers are only if you get the Sasquatch package the wrangler sport is better then a base model but I doubt anyone buys one without the Sasquatch package.
You can not get Sasquatch with a manual. At best, if you want the base and Sasquatch, then you are getting an auto. If you want the manual, then you don't get the Sasquatch. It sucks, I know. That is the choice you make. Maybe Ford will hear the people and make manual available for the Sasquatch package. I doubt they will make the manual available for the 2.7 ecoboost. Never mind, you covered it at the end. LOL
Great review. Nice subtle throw ins for Range Rover type of vehicle. Whoa, just saw your corrections above. That will upset a lot of people on ordering.
I reserved a Badlands the morning after the Bronco was revealed. Already knew I was going with the hardtop as you suggest. Still deciding on keeping the 33” AT tires that comes standard, or going with the 35” MT tires.......thinking the ATs will be better on the road but know the MTs will be better off road. Anybody who has MT tires.....please wade in. I’d love to hear your opinion.
M Valencia not just that but it’s two engines already in use, the auto is already in use, the frame is already in use... and they’ve been spending YEARS on this one.
I’m with you, I bought the 4wd (really all wheel drive) Ford Explorer a few months after launch, still first year. Lots of little recalls. It seemed like mass production left things like the gasket for the front windshield being noisy, some cabin exhaust leaks, problems with the touch system, The second year they added features and fixed the little issues. I will buy a bronco, I’ve had Ford stock for over 6 months and qualify for X plan. I had to special order my explorer to get xplan pricing. It was about 9k less than the dealer sticker price. 40k sticker vs 31,500 plan.
JeremyShred nice. I bought a mustang membership so I could get the xplan pricing after doing the math I would be saving around 2,500. That is without any additions.
What a fail in that regard. Sorry, but can we go back to the days where we could actually order a personal vehicle with what we would personally like on it?
I want what unfortunately Ford isn’t going to build. At least for the first year or so. Base 2 door with the big motor and 7 speed manual with the Sasquatch package.
Got a wild preordered. However, I will be swapping or hopefully adding some crawling gear options to make it more like the badlands addition. I also want the lux trim. So basically it will be a founders without the alt special interior. I missed getting a founders by about 2.5 mins. Salty, but I think I can make do! If things are going to work out the way I want them. If not...scrap everything and get a Badlands with sqach, lux!
We’ll see these all over...like, office place parking lot, grocery store, riding down baby-smooth freeway. ROFL, it’s true, you know it’s true. I wonder what percentage of Bronco’s will actually tackle a difficult path?
4:46 "over 200 aftermarket accessories". How come so many before it even dropped, did Ford go out and coordinate with all the big accessory companies before hand? Whatever they did and are currently doing is ON POINT.
Ford has been working on the Bronco for nearly a decade. This is t some new model that they thought up 6 months a go and slapped together... I really feel this is going to be the first launch of an all new vehicle that was done right the first time. It was supposed to be on dealership floors back in August of 2019, as a 2020 model, but due to some engineering problems production was halted. I wonder what accessories are already going to be available in the Ford Catalogue.
Looking at building one out now that it is live on the Ford site. Any ideas why roof rack rails are not compatible when you have the Sasquatch? I'm new to overland but seems like you would want both, yeah?!
Really found your video helpful, thanks. I have a problem with the back end. I'm fine with the window lifting up but I really dislike the door style. I seriously prefer the Tailgate rather than the door style. (hinges on the bottom rather than the side) The spare tire could be mounted to a nice black tube swing out. Is there anyone else that agrees with me?
I need info. on how the Base Bronco performs in snow with any of the upgrade packages like Sasquatch, etc., I live in Oregon, long snow season in Central Oregon. Any info. on that? Demo videos are showing the Bronco going through what we call a cute snow. Thanks for any info. @OverlandBound

Got a Wildtrak reserved here. Already found some accessories for it too. Can't wait!
Got mine reserved! Got the wildtrak package and I cannot wait until I can get going on some over-landing
man, such an exiting car this is!
Great Review, thanks. I may be abandoning my future Jeep. My present Jeep is a forever Jeep.
Major chopping ?My 4runner with 3 inch suspension lift 33s was minimal cutting at all so not sure about that
To be honest, on a really technical trail I might prefer the automatic anyway. I think the crawler gear would be fun to try out of coarse, but being realistic, automatic is just fine.
In 4 lo and granny gear the bronco will do 1 mph with trans completely engaged so thankfully you wont have to ride clutch
Awesome that they offer optional locking diffs on the base model.
Waiting for a few years. Still eyeing used Gladiators also. 😎😎
Wait for the 2022. Awesome truck though
Why wait
those best in class offroad numbers are only if you get the Sasquatch package the wrangler sport is better then a base model but I doubt anyone buys one without the Sasquatch package.
Best review that l have seen on this vehicle. Too bad we can not see actual colors on the vehicle.
LOL
Outdoors, sun and fresh air. YES!
Great review. Nice subtle throw ins for Range Rover type of vehicle. Whoa, just saw your corrections above. That will upset a lot of people on ordering.
Outer Banks Fancy pants mode ordered for me😂
So freaking stoked for this vehicle. Well done Ford!
@G Riv, thanks for the suggestion. How do those MTRs ride on the road?
Ford fans please no bashing, but was that front bumper almost touching the fender. It seams to have a bit of frame twisting. 17:40mins
thank you for this vid very informative and helped me decide.
You were building an overlander but ended up building a rock crawler?!
Thank you this video was really helpful!!!!!
Hey Michael... I happened to notice that they offer the Bronco in Overland Bound Yellow... Just sayin'
Excellent breakdown thanks. I was waiting for this video from your channel.
Great info and breakdown of the selection process.
I love the look, but I'd have to wait 2~3yrs for them to work some of the bugs & recalls. Early adopters; I hope I'm wrong.
Solo Saga is this really something to worry about in 2020? Especially with a launch this big?
It's based on the ranger which is very reliable the engines are also very reliable
JeremyShred nice. I bought a mustang membership so I could get the xplan pricing after doing the math I would be saving around 2,500. That is without any additions.
You cant get the Sasquatch with the manual as per Ford
Source?
Connor Campbell The Internet and Ford
Which means I don't want one.
What a fail in that regard. Sorry, but can we go back to the days where we could actually order a personal vehicle with what we would personally like on it?
well Beed locks are not Road Leagal in califonia no one bugs you but somthing to consider
They are beadlock capable wheels but they aren't actually beadlocked you have to do that after you buy it.
As others have said, you're required to get an automatic if you want the Sasquatch package.
Are we sure about that? I have seen a few videos saying for both, the 94:1 crawl ratio is with the manual transmission & the sasquatch package
First overland build was a 95 suburban now I’m ordering a 2021 badlands edition
Crystal clear Voice and elaborate
I want what unfortunately Ford isn’t going to build. At least for the first year or so. Base 2 door with the big motor and 7 speed manual with the Sasquatch package.
I thought overlanders liked 33" tires as they were a better balance of off road versus fuel mileage ( less fuel to carry).
Are going to get one for yourself? The yellow on the show vehicle so cool.
Maybe! It won’t replace the 80 ;)
I hope they make it in a hybrid edition like the 2021 f150. Rumors say 2024.
The 2.3 is standard for the Badlands. The 2.7 is an option
Thank you!
Best Ford Bronco video I've seen
4:46 "over 200 aftermarket accessories". How come so many before it even dropped, did Ford go out and coordinate with all the big accessory companies before hand? Whatever they did and are currently doing is ON POINT.
Yes they did.
It will be great next to my New Land Rover Defender
great break down of each trim model
Looking at building one out now that it is live on the Ford site. Any ideas why roof rack rails are not compatible when you have the Sasquatch? I'm new to overland but seems like you would want both, yeah?!
Really found your video helpful, thanks. I have a problem with the back end. I'm fine with the window lifting up but I really dislike the door style. I seriously prefer the Tailgate rather than the door style. (hinges on the bottom rather than the side) The spare tire could be mounted to a nice black tube swing out. Is there anyone else that agrees with me?
My goodness. Need to listen to this on 1.75 just to get through it. Llllleeeeetttttsssss taaaaalllkkkk abbbbouuutttt theee foooordddd brrronnncoooo
So your comment that you CANNOT get the Badlands in the manual 7 speed granny gear is confusing. The Ford website shows the Badlands comes standard with the 2.3L 7 speed transmission and the Sasquatch package is available...
Great Review thank you 👍🇺🇸
7 models to choose for daily work commuter.
Love it brotha. Great video. So the question is are you getting one ??? Fj80cruiserlife
